wash away contaminants most importantly any excess pieces of glass. Then the bottles are moved to
the eight different types of fillers that Gallo uses, the fill height is either adjustable or depends on the

Today I will be talking about the research I did on quick change methodology. This is a very
fascinating and important topic for the machining process in all plants across the world. The topics
that will be covered in this paper are as follows defining quick change methodology and tooling for
machining with an overview history and recent advancements, SMED overview history and recent
advancements, then a compare and contrast of quick change methodology and SMED, and to wrap
up the paper I will illustrate how I can use this information to improve a manufacturing process I am
familiar with. These were great research topics and I learned a ton of great valuable information that
would be very useful in future endeavors.
First I will talk about defining quick change methodology and tooling for machining with an
overview history and recent advancements. It is a modular system that allows tools to be changed
rapidly on a machine during the initial part setup and the tool change after a tool is worn out. The
system radically decreases machine downtime for tool change for the duration of setup changes. It is

as their new ideas are tested, accepted and implemented the standard worksheets are updated.
Consider as you work in your Kaizen Groups how to make your decisions visible to all, how to

Answer: In my personal opinion, "assigned boarding gate line positions based on both boarding
group and gate arrival time" is the most workable. The principle to assign position based on
boarding group can satisfy the customers who travel in group and want to sit together. The
customers might be family, friends or couples. Then the principal of gate arrival time is to meet the
rule: first come, first served. If the assignments of the positions are according to the arrival time,
