diagnosed with prostate cancer.
It is the most common cancer in men.

gland!
It is a walnut sized gland
underneath the bladder
5. What is cancer?
All the time the body makes new
cells and old ones are destroyed.
This is normal.
Sometimes cells go wrong and
grow out of control: this is cancer.
6. What can be done?
Professor Waxman works at
Hammersmith Hospital in
London to help patients with
cancer.
He also leads a group of 30
scientists who research new
ways to treat the cancer.
His work needs money.
