CMC allows you to take control of your world-wide equipment stock simply and efficiently. It manages stocks of any
size including dry vans, special equipment, chassis, trailers, gensets and others. CMC easily differentiates between
equipment that is owned by you, owned by the shipper or leased from a third-party.
CMC is a powerful tool that provides an accurate and easy-to-understand
picture of your global equipment stock. It shows the
equipment located in each terminal or depot as well as those items
released to clients. It distinguishes between those containers that
are empty or full, it shows units that are damaged and, crucially,
which are available and which are booked.
Information relating to each movement is received from quay
operators, stevedores and forwarders and sent directly to the CMC
application. Data is imported automatically without the need for
manual intervention with the help of standard EDI interfaces or
simply through spreadsheets . This reduces errors, duplication and
ensures your equipment stock report is updated as quickly as
possible.
An overview facility gives an instant and up-to-date picture of your
world-wide equipment stock and a drill-down function provides the
detail. CMC handles unlimited movements and readily differentiates
between owned and leased boxes. Movement history is easily
monitored and illogical sequences are automatically highlighted to
provide an instant quality check.
Leased containers
CMC provides a complete solution for leased boxes. The application
manages contracts, calculates expected leasing costs and analyses
leasing invoices giving you a tight control over your leasing expenses.

2. Importantly, CMC enables leasing invoices to be automatically entered
using EDI. Once input, they are reconciled based on your contracts with
the leasing company to highlight actual versus expected amounts. This
reduces time and resources spent on administration, it improves
accuracy and it eliminates any possibility of over-billing
Storage and handling
CMC will track every container movement in and out of the depot or
terminal and monitors the associated storage and handling fees.
Invoices are automatically input to the system allowing fast and
efficient reconciliation. Up-to-date information and complete visibility
of your storage and handling costs allows invoices to be agreed with
the minimum of resource.
Demurrage and detention
Calculating demurrage and detention fees per box and per customer
is an important feature of CMC. Standard rates and freeday
arrangements as well as highly individual agreements by location,
customer and/or actual shipped container volume are all supported.
Once demurrage or detention is chargeable, invoices are
automatically generated taking all these bespoke agreements into
consideration. This significantly increases revenues from overdue
equipment with minimal workload.
