9. Introversion - Introverted and shy people would rather listen than participate in interactions. Alienation - When people that don't understand how to communicate properly, such as interrupting, appear to be negative or dismissive of messages even though they might be quite interested. Low self-esteem - When people don't feel good enough about themselves to express their ideas because of introversion or alienation they had previously experienced. Cultural divergence - the different ways that different cultures communicate. Poor communication skills- When a sender knows what they want to say but don't feel they have the necessary skills to make the meaning of their message clear. Communication incompetence - Either butting in to someone else's or speaking too quietly because they doubt their ability to communicate. Communication apprehension
