challenge forms
and conventions of real media products?
2. What have you learnt about the technologies from the
process of constructing this product?

3. Differences between the two
front covers
The main image for the college
magazine is under the writing,
but ‘Vibe’ the main image is on
top the masthead.
The cover lines are also
different.
The colours used are
different.
The image I used of a student,
he is smiling showing he is
happy and enjoying college.
Drake is a rap artist he is
showing that he is serious and
means business.
My barcode is horizontal and
the ‘Vibe’ magazine one is
vertical.
4. In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge
forms and conventions of real media products?
Contents – Similarities
Both have
‘contents’ in big
bold writing.
The
backgrounds
for both are
light plain
back grounds.
Both have a
selection of
images
including
one main
one
5. Difference between the two
content pages
The layout for both
the content pages are
different.
There are more images
in the ‘Kerrang’
magazine than my
magazine.
The colours are
different in both
magazines.
The ‘Kerrang’ magazine
has subheadings mine
does not.
The ‘Kerrang’ magazine
has captions under the
images, my magazine
does not have captions.
6. What have you learnt about the technologies from the process
of constructing this product?
I have learnt to use Photoshop and Adobe InDesign. I had never used either of these
software's before. These software’s are time consuming and challenging but I managed to
complete the tasks I was given. I used a digital camera; I took a selection of MCU’s.
7. Adobe PhotoShop
I used PhototShop to make
my student look like a model
as though he was airbrushed
and perfect. I did this by
changing the contrast and
lighting on the image.
I used the patching effect to
perfect the blotches on the
skin that the student had.
I also used the whitener to
white his teeth.
I also cropped the bottom
bit of the image.
I added a slight blur effect
to the background of the
image.
8. Adobe InDesign
I used this software to make
my contents page.
I should have adapted the
images in Adobe PhotoShop
before I added them to the
content page.
I resized all the images to
the right size so I could add
them to my magazine.
I could have made my
content page more appealing
to my core audience. It looks
boring a dull.
