1. Front Cover Image Manipulation Print-Screens
I insertedthe mastheadusingcopy
and pastingtoolsfromDafontand
croppedaroundthe mastheadwith
the marquee andquickselection
toolsto delete the background,so
onlythe fontof the mastheadwas
leftvisible.Ithenbroughtinthe
original mainimage andfititto the
page.
I wantedtochange the colourof the
model’sjumperfromredtoblue,so
usedthe quickselectiontool cropselect
aroundthe jumperandthenchanged
the saturationand hue of thislayerto
the colourI wanted.I hadto neatenthe
edgesupa little byusingthe paintbrush
tool and the blackand white
paintbrushestopaintwhere Iwantedto
add colourand remove colour,
however,Icouldhave improvedthis
aestheticallyfurtherbyremovingthe
colourfrom the original image onthe
blonde hairmore,sothisis a weakness
of myfrontcover.

2. I changedthe backgroundby using
the quickselectiontool againto
create a colourmaskaround the
modelsinthe mainimage,then
inverseditsoI couldchange the
background,andthenaddeda
colouroverlaygradient of redand
white byadjustingthe colourinthe
colouroptionstohow I wantedthe
page to appear.
I addedtextinthe form of coverlinesanda main coverline anda stripto the page.
I addedthistextas I believe ittobe necessarytomake the magazine seemas
thoughit hasmore to offertothe audience,inordertoattract the audience into
readingthe magazine more.Ibelieve the frontcovershouldhave atleast4 cover
lines,inadditiontothe maincoverline,asshowninexistingmagazines,for
example,inthe existingmagazine above:there are fourcoverlinesplaceddownthe
rightthirdof the page,as well asthe main coverline onthe leftandmiddle third.
