1. Task 9 Formal proposal
Title of Magazine
I have chosen to call my magazine, Vinyl.I, I have chosen this term as it
is a musical term that suggests class and sophistication in a modern
sense. A vinyl is a black round disc that played music when put on a
phonograph. Known for their clarity in sound and classic heritage I have
chosen this name in honour of the origins of R’n’B. Vinyl’s were used in
the twentieth century, and have since been replaced with new formats
such as CD’s this is what one looks like:
Choice of genre
My genre will be centred on R’n’B with the subgenres of modern R’n’B and classic R’n’B. I
have been influenced personally by this genre, the music, the style and the culture of it;
therefore I will be able to incorporate it into my magazine.
My target Audience
Will be both male and female, aged 16-26, I have focused on this age as the features will
suit this age group, covering both classic and urban, up to date features. It will be for
working class, and so accessible by most.
