2. Dr. Carman has served as an advisor for pharmaceutical companies. His expertise in the appropriate ways to effectively conduct clinical trials continues to benefit the clinical research industry. Dr. Carman has also assisted other research sites in setting up programs and managing their patient load. In addition to being an advisor to industry and clinical sites, Dr. Carman continues to have a very active clinical trial program.
3. John S. Carman, M.D. is the medical director of CARMAN RESEARCH . He has been active in clinical psycho-pharmacologic research for 36 years. Dr. Carman is board certified in psychiatry. He has participated in testing nearly 300 investigational compounds. He has authored over 100 publications and national presentations, as well as a book on biological psychiatry.
4. He has received the A.E. Bennett Award of the Society for Biological Psychiatry, the Curt P. Richter Award of the International Society for Psychoneuroendocrinology, and the Exemplary Psychiatrist Award of the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill. He ran a research unit at the National Institute of Mental Health and he directed Psychopharmacology training while an Associate Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Alabama Medical School.
