2. although the world has
changed enormously
since the 19th century,

3. schools and education
have basically remained
the same

4. teaching still means lecturing,
learning still means listening

5. the real lesson is: don’t think. don’t doubt.
just memorize and repeat

6. but something fundamental has changed

7. students today no longer need to rely on
their teachers to obtain information

8. in order to remain relevant,
teachers need to adapt

9. from their role as information provider
to challenger, observer, guide and coach

10. students, on the other hand, need to do much more
than just listen in order to really learn.
