The Ethics Of The Byu Idaho Sport Organization
This week's reading focused on the topics of organizational theory and the management of sport organizations along with organizational goals and
effectiveness. Through the writings of Slack and Parent in Understanding Sport Organizations, the aforementioned topics were well versed in
delivering information to be prepared for this reflection. Describe one of the "Ways to Look at Sport Organizations" (Chapter 1) using the athletic
department described in the case study (or you can select another sport organization for which you are more familiar)? Over the course of reading
chapter 1, we learned multiple ways to look at sport organizations. With the use of, "A New Collegiate Model," a case study on the intra–collegiate
athletics at BYU Idaho, I will examine them based on one of the models from said chapter. Examining the BYU Idaho sport organization as a culture
seemed rather logical to myself. When looking at an organization as a culture, one needs to view the culture of which the organization is placed in; the
culture of the society will more than likely have an influence on their mode of operation. Slack & Parent explained to us that when studying
organizations as cultures, know that they are concerned with the roles leadership plays in the manifestation of culture. At BYU Idaho, I believe they
did a respectable job at delegating roles in the transition from an intercollegiate to an intra–collegiate program. With the discontinuation of one model to
introduce and

The Behavior Of Uc Davis Athletes On An Ncaa...
Match Observation The purpose of this assignment was to observe and analyze the behaviors of UC Davis athletes on an NCAA Intercollegiate sports
team. I was able to observe the athletes in their natural setting and observe their behaviors before, during and after the game. This assignment is
important because we are observing athletes without interfering. This gives the researcher the ability to observe their natural behavior while playing
the game. From this experience we are trying to learn the different behaviors that each player has, or if they have any similarities. We are also learning
how players interact with their team, their coaches and the crowd. On Thursday, October 6, I was able to attend the UC Davis women's soccer game
on our home field against Cal State Fullerton. I arrived to the game with 2 other classmates about 30 minutes prior to the start of the game. The setting
and environment prior to the game was calm and relaxed with music playing on the speakers. The weather was hot, with a slight breeze and many
people brought hats and sunglasses since they would be sitting in the heat throughout the game. Everyone who was there early was talkative and
smiling whether they were fellow students or family members, they all seemed to be supportive and ready to watch the game.
1. I have never witnessed an NCAA Athletic Competition in women's soccer before. I am not familiar with the game of soccer as much I am with
other types of sports. Therefore, this was my

Game Related Statistics
Anyone who is a sports fanatic can say that when their team is playing, they will go all out in cheering and showing their support so that everyone
else can see how much their team means to them. So how does one choose their favorite team? In basketball, there is no argument that fans stick true
to their teams, whether it's because it's their hometown or they have the most valuable players on the team (MVP) or simply just based on statistics.
Whichever way a person decides which team they'll go for, one thing remains constant; a supporting fan that will always be quick to defend their team
in any situation. Whenever it's basketball season, there is always one question that arises, "Who are you going for?" For most the answer is simple, the

Based on the article by Sampio, Jamie; McGarry, Tim; Calleja–Gonzalez, Julio; Saiz, Sergio Jimenez; Alcazar,Schelling and Balciunas, Mindauhas
(2015) "One of the most common methods of monitoring sports performance is using game–related statistics to evaluate technical and tactical
behavior". There are people who can rave about a team's overall statistics or just an individual player, especially when their trying to prove their
point in a dispute against an opposing team fan. Statistics can show evidence in ranking which player is worth talking about. A person who bases
their favorite basketball team by statistics can easily back up their information by showing numbers. No matter what any other person can throw at
them, they will be quick to mention how many championship rings a player has gotten, or how many championships a team has won overall. They
will have knowledge in their team player's overall shooting percentage as well as their rebounds, assists and so on. So, if a person is deciding their
basketball team by statistics, they will have a pretty good advantage in always proving their team as the best by evidence in

Jonest Incident Narrative
I woke up to the irritating ring of my alarm, the smell of French toast lingering through the air, and the feeling of a spider crawling up my arm. It
started out like any other day, but I was wired from the second I woke up, hoping this day would be one to remember. I set my alarm earlier than
normal that morning so that I could relax in a hot shower. My sisters beat me to the punch, however, and my shower, per usual, was frigid. I hoped it
wasn't an omen for how my day would proceed, but my watering taste buds suggested otherwise. After I showered and got dressed, I went upstairs
and finally devoured the French toast I had been smelling all morning. As expected, it tasted like heaven and renewed my excitement for the day. I

The seventh inning started, and the other team was furious that they were now losing. We got the first out, then the second out, and all we had to
do was get one more out. Their best hitter was up, and our coach told everyone to scoot back a little. The pitch was thrown, and the kid ripped a
shot right in my direction. I froze at first, not knowing what to do. I had a million thoughts racing through my mind, but luckily I just reacted and
ran and caught the ball. The crowd went crazy. My teammates and my coaches ran and dog piled me. My heart was beating faster than it ever had.
"We won!" was the only thing I could seem to get out of my mouth. My teammates started chanting my name. The most crucial hour of my day was
coming to an end, but before we could go home our coaches made us all come into a huddle. The smell of sweaty boys, the roar of the crowd, and the
sweet taste of victory–which tasted suspiciously like super–chocolatey brownies–was all I could bring in. Normally after our games, our coach would
talk for 10 or 15 minutes about what we could have done better, but this time he said only one thing to us in that huddle: "Well boys, this is definitely

Anabolic Steroids In The Sports World
In today's sports world, performance enhancing drugs have become more and more of a problem. Famous athletes with records upon records do not
always play by the rules. Celebrities with countless amounts of fans and admires turn out to be nothing but a cheater. These athletes are paid
millions of dollars to simply perform, entertain, and follow the rules of their respected sport. Performance enhancing drugs (PED's) have changed the
way we look at athletes and their legacies. One of the most common PEDs used in the sports world is anabolic steroids. Of course a long list of other
drugs come to mind such as Adderall and testosterone, but they all increase the human body's physical capabilities in some way shape or form. Athletes

He owns the record for most Tour de France titles with seven. Most people pictured him as a world class athlete and hero after not only defeating
cancer, but demolishing his competing year in and year out in the Tour de France. His glorious life story inspired thousands if not millions of
people across the world effected by cancer. All of his fame came to a crashing halt in 2013 when he admitted that the use of banned substances
resulted in his success (Allen J.). Armstrong's name, image, and legacy destroyed in the minds people all across the world. Even if he were still able
to win those titles without the use of illegal substances, the records and titles were all stripped from his name. Armstrong's dope scandal opened the
eyes of fans in every sport, causing them to have second thoughts on professional athletes who find tremendous success in their respected sport. It also
forced the sport of bicycling to admit to problems related to drug use, leading to extreme anti–doping involvement (Pugmire L.) One man's cheating

Crushing monster homeruns that measure at extraordinary lengths is not an easy task. Throughout history the MLB has ran into multiple dilemmas
where some of the sport's biggest names have broken the rules. Barry Bonds, the all–time homerun leader in the MLB, and many other star baseball
players were caught and accused for the use of steroids and growth hormones during their careers. These stars were proven guilty after a two–year
investigation of the BALCO scandal (Staff

Student Athletic Policy Paper
Many policies in interscholastic sports may be controversial none more so than the play–to–play or activity fee for student athletes. In this paper, three
policies at Enterprise High School and Enterprise City Schools are discussed. From the activity fee students are paying, fundraising being part of head
coaches duties, and finally the existence of multiple booster clubs for the athletic department. Enterprise High School does not have a formal handbook
for athletic. When asked the athletic director Trent Trawick response was "the athletic department at Enterprise does not need a handbook for
athletics. We comply with all Alabama High School Athletic Association bylaws and Enterprise city school board policies." (Trawick, 2017). The
policies discussed in this paper are from Enterprise school board policies and job descriptions for head coaches. It is important for schools to maintain
proper policies and procedures. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Each sport assesses an activity fee. For example, if a student athlete plays basketball and runs track that athlete or their family will pay two separate
fees, one for each sport. The activity fees are typically around three hundred dollars, however the EHS athletic director does not mandate an amount.
It is up to the head coach to decided how much an activity fee is and what the proceeds will be used for. If a lower income family has multiple
athletes play a variety of sports the current activity fee format may seem as an extreme difficulty which ultimately can harm sports participation. To
ensure equitable participation across all income levels, barriers to sports participation that may disproportionately affect lower–income students such as
pay to–play fees, equipment costs or lack of school–supported transportation, need to be addressed. (Colabianchi, 2012). Student athlete can ease the
tension of the sport activity fee through fundraising for a

Bronc Nation: A Short Story
November 18th 2016 was a huge day for me. It was also a great day for Bronc Nation as a whole but before we can talk about that we need to start
at the beginning. It was the summer after eighth grade year. Well actually I guess it started even earlier than that for me. I was probably around the
age of eleven or twelve when my dad told me about how he won a state championship in Columbus in 1980. After he told me this I wanted to be like
him and win a championship so much I would have given anything. My dad was my hero for many reasons and this added to it. Anyways We (me
and the rest of the incoming freshman) walked into the new high school. For some of us it was the first time, others had been her many times before to

We grinded for the next 6 months until school was out. Some of us lifting twice a day trying to gain an edge on the other teams so we wouldn't

year Cullen, Luke Max, Emmitt, Clay, and me rode down in coach G's Suburban instead of going down on the bus. This was so much better than
riding the bus. We were able to make more stops and the seats were really comfortable. The whole way down we were cracking jokes, talking about
different stuff, and making fun of Cullen and his foolish comments on how Trump was going to "Make America Great Again" This was by far the
best trip to CSU I had been on. After returning from CSU we got back into the weight room. When we started two a days this year the energy was
different from years past. This year everyone was hyped for them. We all knew we were the best and we were going to prove it this

Head Trauma In Hockey
Despite the long term health outcomes, the popularity of fighting in hockey still continues to this day. Hockey is considered a collision sport, as
known as contact sports, which is when professional athletes collide with each other or alternative objects such as the boards. Due to hockey being a
collision sport, many injuries are sustained through colliding and fighting, especially in the head. Head trauma in hockey is the leading cause of injury
in hockey. Head trauma is caused by fighting and direct hits to the head. Evidence done by McKee and colleagues shows that multiple and repeated
hits to the head does indeed affect brain from it's overall function. Furthermore, records show that enforcers in the professional league reveals that they

Ron Duguay, a former NHL player, expressed his concern about reoccurring hits to the head he took during his career. He played helmetless in the
NHL from 1978 to 1989. Ron explained how his memory had gotten worse. It was also reported that there was an estimate of 12 concussions per
season from the years 1987 to 1996. And from the year 1997 to 2002 there was a mean of 56 concussions per season. This number grew by an
increasing factor. It is now proclaimed that during the years of 2005 to 2012 about 64 reported concussions were recorded. Even though the NHL
continue to take strict action to enforce bans on hits to the head, the numbers are still increasing. This means that more players are being prone to
having concussions which can lead them to get CTE. The fighting effects the game a lot because player will not be able to perform to how they used
to before all those injuries. Nevertheless, this brutal tradition of fighting in professional hockey needs to be banned because athletes have to deal with
chronic headaches, dizziness, nausea, and balance problems due to having long term health problems because of the sport they love to

The Effects Of Concussions On Athletes And Concussions
Lastly, having multiple concussions produce long term effects on athletes. This was proven by a study performed that compared athletes with a history
of concussions to athletes with no concussion history using a concussion test known as: Immediate Post Concussion Assessment and Cognitive Testing
(ImPACT). This is a computerized test that measures memory capabilities to determine if an athlete has aconcussion. It was taken by the athletes prior
to their season to find a baseline level. This baseline would then be used to determine if someone has a concussion by comparing it to a
post–concussion result of the ImPACT. Every athlete in this study was given the ImPACT test within five days of sustaining a concussion. The results

These lawsuits represented over 2,000 former players claiming that the NFL didn 't teach them the dangers of a concussion. On August 29, 2013,
over a year after the lawsuits were filed, there was an agreement between the NFL and the players; the NFL agreed to pay $765 million to pay for
medical examinations, compensation for the concussed athletes, and research towards concussions. Just as the NFL thought the lawsuits were over, on
January 14, 2014, the agreement was declined by a federal judge because the judge believed that $765 million was not enough money ("NFL
Concussion"). These lawsuits over the issue of concussions prove that the athletes have experienced a multitude of medical issues that resulted from
multiple concussions. These former athletes are working hard to ensure that young athletes do not have to suffer like they do.
The issue of multiple concussions is finally becoming recognized by major sports. The awareness has led to a variety of interventions to help protect
athletes. There have been two recent interventions concerning football helmets. First off, Riddell, a company that produces football helmets, has
released a new helmet that is supposed to best prevent concussions. This helmet is known as the Revolution Speed. Using advanced technology, the
Speed helmets were designed around the head 's center of gravity and include an uneven outer shell to help absorb a hit. The inside of the

Basketball Story Short Story
Basketball Story It was the biggest basketball game in East Davidson High School history, and it was coming down to the wire. The starting point
guard Corey Shriller, a junior had already scored 33 points and was looking forward to his first state title, but Saint Thomas High School was
standing in his way and leading by 2 with 24 seconds left on the clock. Saint Thomas had the ball and Corey was forced to foul. Corey darted
towards a Saint Thomas Guard named Noah Simmons and took him out. The game was already intense but with their tempers flaring the two
guards got into it and the ref was forced to throw them out of the game. Both benches cleared and the crowd went wild. Both benches had been
cleared so the refs signaled for the time to run off, they would not finish the game and East Davidson had lost. As Corey walked through the narrow
hall towards the locker room he said ВЁNext year will be even better.ВЁ School had been over now for a few weeks and Corey was visiting his dad in
Mexico. When Corey was 10 his parents split up and his dad moved to Mexico, so every year he would spend the summer with is dad on the beaches
of Mexico. Corey hadnВґt played much basketball since that loss to Saint Thomas back in April but he wasn't worried about that now, he was on
vacation. East Davidson had a summer basketball league and Corey could never participate, but he knew that he would still be the best player when

There are advantages to playing at home outside of during the game like no traveling, sleeping in your own bed, and home cooked meals (Voyer, 2015).
Other researchers implied that another possible influence for the home team is officiating bias (Wright and House 1984). In Baumeister and
Steinhilber's study, a supportive audience increased the home team's general motivation during the game (Baumeister and Steinhilber 1984). Previous
research suggested humans are alike animals in a way that both are more confident, more powerful, and have less stress in their own territory than the

Essay on Personal Narrative- Soccer State Championship
Personal Narrative– Soccer State Championship
On February 28, 2005, I experienced one of the most exciting events that anyone could ever experience – winning a State Championship. The day my
soccer team made history is a day I'll never forget. However it is not just that day we won the title, but the whole experience of the preceding season
that got us there. From start to finish, my team's 2004–2005 season taught me that the platitude is true. You can do anything you set your mind to.

we were going to do it. I was never so sure about anything in my life and I never doubted it once. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As Christmas break approached, the team faced what was going to be our biggest challenge of all. Due to his new job, our coach now took the title of
"assistant" and we were given a new head coach. The coaches were, and are, good friends, but have totally different coaching styles. The first was
laid back and carefree with a great sense of humor, which made him well liked by everyone he coached. The new coach had a reputation for being
arrogant, strict, and having a no–tolerance policy when it comes to joking around. Because of this perspective some girls held of our new coach, many
were upset with the change. After we attended a tournament over the break, however, the girls realized that they had been wrong about the coach and
he was just what we needed to help us achieve our goal.
Unfortunately we still had tension among players. It even got as far as one player taking the ball from another on the field in the middle of the game.
As the season progressed, this problem practically solved itself as we bonded at practices, pre–game get–togethers, and voluntarily spending time
together on weekends. We grew from barely tolerating each other to being such a tight–knit group that even schoolmates noticed.
With the Christmas tournament aside, we entered the post–season without a loss. We had a plan for each playoff game from districts to regional. We

When I heard the ump say, "Play ball" it was music to my ears. It was a great feeling when we absolutely crushed New Haven 17–0. After a day of rest
we were ready for our second game. In the District tournament a team has to lose twice to be eliminated, and we planned on not losing any games.
We learned that New Haven had lost twice and was eliminated from Districts. All we had to do was beat the town of Richmond, twice, to win the
District title. Our first game against Richmond pitted us against a huge rival. We knew we were a better team than them and we planned on winning.
That day we achieved our goal and won 18–1 against Richmond. Now all we needed was to win one more game and we would win Districts. The
day of the final game came and we were all nervous, players and coaches. This time "play ball" meant to play the best we could and never let up,

Demetriou (2001) states how hegemonic masculinity expresses two different social practices, from a social constructivist view. The first is that men
benefit from the patriarchal system of society. The second process is that there is an "intramasculine hierarchy" by which the social order of men is
created and maintained. Connell (1995) argues that this is the reason for the societal gender order where not only do men uphold power over women, but
also certain men are dominant over other men. Demetriou (2001) criticises Connell's term of hegemonic masculinity for being too broad, as the main
focus is usually placed on the intramasculine process. He therefore believes this process to be "internal hegemony" (ibid).
In terms of the 'intramasculine order', Connell argues that there is a specific type of masculinity that is revered the most and holds dominance over all
other. Men who most closely exemplify this archetype are considered to hold the most social capital. In this model Connell states that gay men are at
the bottom of the order and straight men that embody certain characteristics sit atop the hierarchy. Connell's model furthers Brannon's (1976) work. In
this he suggests four rules by which men should follow. Hence, in Connell's (1995) model homophobia is a significant factor in sitting at the top of the
hierarchy and

Panthers Football Team
The New Richland–Hartland–Ellendale–Geneva Panther football team surprised many people this year with their success. Overcoming the low
expectations of many people, this team went 7–3 and won a playoff game. Many kids stepped up at their positions and gave the squad a whole new
look on the season. Instead of being below average, the Panthers became a tough, play–off contending team to watch out for. Before the season started
there wasn't too much confidence from anybody, not even from the coaches and players. Assistantcoach of the Panther Football team, John Schultz,
said "I would say we probably would win about three games by beating the teams that were really down and lose to the average and above average
teams." The reason the lack of confidence was their was because of how heavy they graduated. The Panthers lost their starting quarterback, fullback,
two linemen, and a wide receiver. Every one of these players were key players in their six wins last season. The big question in the pre–season was
whether or not new faces could fill the shoes of the graduated seniors. Since these players were all talented in their own ways, it seemed impossible.
Fortunately, all of these positions were filled with young players that had determination and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Finally, at the end of the second quarter Panther wide receiver, Sawyer Van Muldaham, ran 62 yards to put the team on the board. At this point in the
game it had been raining out, the field was slippery and full of mud which made the running game even harder than before. Just the like the first two
quarters, the rest of the game was played in terrible conditions. The storm had gotten so bad, lightning started late in the fourth quarter and 1:31 left of
the game had to be played the next day. After a nervous–filled day for the players, the final minute and a half was played and the Panthers came on top

Do Athletes With Multiple Head Traumas Have Higher...
Do Athletes with Multiple Head Traumas have Higher Incidence of Cognitive Impairment? Heather M. Strobel University of Central Florida Abstract
With the growing concern over head injuries in professional sports, athletes are now asking questions and expecting answers. Athletes now want to
know what their quality of life will look like after their career as an athlete has come and gone. The present study evaluates the differences in cognitive
impairment between athletes who have a history of multiple head injuries/traumas and athletes who have not had multiple head injuries/traumas. The
hypothesis states that athletes who have had multiple head injuries/traumas will show more signs of cognitive impairment when compared to athletes
who do not have a history of multiple head injuries/traumas. A sample of 30 athletes with multiple head injuries/traumas, and 30 athletes without
multiple head injuries/traumas were selected. Athletes from both groups were asked to complete the Repeatable Battery for the Assessment of
Neuropsychological Status (RBANS) as a dependent measure of cognitive impairment. The results determined that athletes with multiple head injuries
/traumas scored lower on the RBANS than the athletes without multiple head injuries/traumas. Keywords: Cognitive impairment, head injuries, head
traumas, athletes. Do Athletes with Multiple Head Traumas have Higher Incidence of Cognitive Impairment? The National Football League (NFL) is

Early Sport Diversification Research
In regards to the development of young athletes, a controversial question exists; will the path of early sport diversification or the path of early sport
specialization ultimately lead to greater sport expertise and elite performance? Specifically, what effects can each pathway have on development of a
child's physical fitness and motor coordination as well as a young athletes career development? Stakes run high for sports with limited scholarship
availability and national team sports, so, when it comes to athletes who are identified as talented at a young age, in many cases they are pushed to
specialize in that sport early by parents with high expectations and aggressive coaches eager for success. Early sport diversification begins with the ...

al (2011) showed that significant differences existed between the two groups in the development of their physical fitness and gross motor coordination.
Initially, the data showed that boys' ages 10–12 that sampled multiple sports had significant differences in strength, speed, agility, and gross motor
coordination. There also existed a positive correlation between the number of hours spent participating in sports per week and its effect on
performance. Boys who spent more hours per week training did significantly better on the strength, flexibility, speed, agility, cardiovascular endurance,
and gross motor coordination tests among all age groups. Advantages of this study include that it's ability to gather data from a large population of
boys from multiple age groups (6–12) and focuses on the basic components of athletic development due to anthropometry, physical fitness, and gross
motor coordination. Unfortunately, the study failed to recognize if the children who participated in multiple sports have better physical fitness and
gross motor coordination solely due to sport sampling. It is possible that better athletes choose to participate in more sports. Fransen et. al (2011)
concluded his study finding that early diversification may lead to slower improvement in performance than early specialization, but spending many
hours per week in multiple sports before the age of twelve exposes children to a broad range of physical, personal, and

History Of Surfing
While recalling memories about surfing I began to remember certain events that demonstrated the different mindsets of surfers, one of these was a
conversation with my dad when I was younger and we were on the southern California coast. We were talking about how people were starting to surf
behind boats, I thought it would be something cool to try since you would be able to ride a wave that goes on forever. My dad on the other hand
resented the idea of surfing behind a boat, as he put it "there is a certain connection that you feel when you have paddled all the way out and you are
waiting for a wave to come, and then you feel the wave starting to form." He is the type of surfer where the connection with the ocean is the most

Some this terminology that's used in surfing consist of A–Frame, Peak, Shoulder, Close Out. An A–Frame occurs when there is a good sandbar a little
way off shore and it causes the waves to look like the letter A. The peak of a wave is the highest part of a wave when it is about to break. The
shoulder of a wave is off to the side of the wave; this term is typically used to insult another surfer by calling them a girl for taking off on the
shoulder instead of the peak. A close out occurs when the whole wave breaks at once, most of the time a close out is a bad thing but if it's a hallow

Concussions In Rugby

In the sport of rugby there are a lot of different injuries that you could get in the sport for example a concussion. The reason why this topic is
interesting to research is because the injurie which is called a concussion is a fascinating injurie. "A Concussion is a type of head injury. It happens
when someone gets a significant bang on the head – so much which the brain is shaken and knocks against the inside of the skull. This causes the
nerves and structures in the brain to be altered." The reason why I have chosen to research into concussion in rugby is because I find it interesting how
an injurie from when you were a child can have an effect on your body in later life, and how people have found out a way to prevent a concussion
to happen. Also I play rugby so I wanted to find out what is a concussion in more detail, and by this research I have done I could get a better
understanding of a concussion. And in my essay I will be talking about the Significant risk of concussion in children, Short and long term effects of

The Effects Of Concussion On Young Athletes
Concussion in Young Athletes
Tennessee State University
Kenji Anderson
Introduction
When youth participate in sports, they are at risk for multiple types of injuries. One of the most common and dangerous sports–related injuries is
concussions. Although concussions are one of the most visible sports injuries, it is often hard to diagnose. Symptoms of a concussion can be vague and
uncertain, which can inevitably lead to more harm to an athlete. Athletes who play with concussions can face great consequences if they are not
removed from play. The effects of obtaining or playing with a concussion may not be recognized early on but rather over time. The control disease
center reported that that reported concussions have ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A connection between the knowledge concerning concussions and obtaining a concussion injury has not been confirmed. Although football may have
the most contact in sports, female soccer players have a higher concussion rate than any other sport (Preidt P.1, 2015). The contact of the soccer
player's head to the ball is the direct cause of the concussion. Since there is no protective gear guarding the soccer player's head, it is more likely to
obtain a concussion due to direct contact to the head of the player.
Diagnosis
Catching the symptoms of sports related head injuries is crucial to preventing further injuries from happening. The symptoms of concussion can
include emotional, physical, and mental aspects. The signs of a concussion can vary, which can lead to some missed diagnosis (Whyte, Benton 2013).
When diagnosing a concussion physicians or athletic trainers look for certain cues to help confirm a diagnosis. The cues can include headaches,
feeling of being in a daze, and mood alterations. Some signals that might coincide with the others will include loss of consciousness, behavioral
changes, and slowed reaction times to situations. The physical signs of a concussion will be the easiest to recognize. The emotional and cognitive
aspects will not be

What have been the financial characteristics of its major business segments during that time period? Which businesses might have been considered
cash hogs and cash cows?
No, it does not seem that the business lineup of Adidas showed good resource fit during 1998–2007. A majority of the overall sales resulted from
Adidas, while the remaining came from Salomon and TaylorMade. When compared to multiple areas of other business units, Salomon ranked
significantly lower.
Salomon's capital expenditures, operating profits, and contribution to bottom line profits too were a drawback during this period. Adidas was clearly
the cash cow in this period of time, while Salomon was the cash hog. Europe and North America accounted for a majority of Adidas–Salomon's sales,
while Latin America and Asia accounted for the rest. Sales in North America reduced every year; however, sales in Asia were on a consistent rise.

The Albany Devils First 30 Games Of 2016
For my project I chose to look at the Albany Devils first 30 games of 2016. I chose this topic because my parents have season tickets to Albany Devils
games and I either go to them when I am home or watching them on my laptop when I am at school. My elements where the first 30 games of
2016 like stated before, and my variables were goals for, goals against, the result of the game and the distance traveled. The elements are listed by the
day and I also listed who the opponent was so one can tell if it was an away game or a home game.
For the first variable, result of the game, I put the outcomes in a table and also made a pie chart showing their frequency. There were four possible
outcomes, win, loss, overtime loss, and shootout loss. The reason why I did this variable is because each result helps or hurts the team in some
way. When the team gets a win in any way they get two points, when they lose in regulation, they get two points, and if they lose in either overtime
or in a shootout they only get one point. Turns out the Albany Devils won over half of their first 30 games in 2016, with a total of 18 wins. They
earn zero points in seven of the sampled games. In 17% of the sampled games they earn only one point per game. The team did not even have one
overtime loss. The Albany Devils earned 41 of the possible 60 points up for grabs from January second to March thirteenth helping them make it into
the Calder Cup Playoffs for the second time in the past three seasons.

The Pros And Cons Of College Sports
College sports seem to overshadow the real reason why there are institutions that provide higher education. Now, more than ever, student athletes
receive more attention from universities than students who are not athletes. College sports, especially football, have changed the way universities are
supported financially. Most of these sources consider how athletics are consistently being prioritized over academics in universities across the United
States. The authors who believe that college sports are a distraction to students will primarily use logos to support their argument, often referencing to
grades and graduation rates. Other authors who consider intercollegiate sports as something unique to American universities use pathos to describe the
sense of school spirit and opportunity for scholarships that school sports may provide. To support these claims, rhetorical strategies of ethos, logos, and
pathos is used throughout the sources when they include references to history, current events, statistical data, and interviews.
The author of this substantive news article is, James Bennet, who is the editorial page editor of The New York Times. This article argues that colleges
fail to treat student athletes as actual students. Colleges only support their student athletes when it concerns participating in games and do not take
responsibility in providing them appropriate education. There have been multiple incidents of colleges across America not being truthful about how

The Rangers will need strong performances night in and night out in order to make the playoffs. Every game is incredibly critical, and the difference

Cold: Delino DeShields
I'm a huge DeShields fan, what he has brought to the table has been absolutely huge for the Rangers. His ability to swipe bags and be a threat on the
base paths is something this lineup needed, and he has certainly brought it. That being said, DeShields has struggled over the course of the past week.
DeShields is hitting a putrid .154 (2–for–13) with a double and two runs scored. His six strikeouts in the past five games is also a cause for concern,
especially when you consider the speed he possesses. That speed being said, it is also a little alarming that he hasn't had a stolen base over the past ten

Chapter I
Statement of Purpose The author has had a lifetime of experience with athletics in multiple sports as an athlete, as a coach, and now as an athletic
director at a high school. As an athlete that was highly competitive, his mindset was to always work hard and do whatever it took to win. About a
year after all of his college eligibility has been completed his good friend took a job at a high school in San Bernardino as a water polo coach and asked
him to come out to the pool to teach his boys a few things. The author took on an assistant coaching position from that point on for the next 6 years
because he loved teaching the athletes what it was to not only be a competitor but to be a competitor the right way, through hard work and respecting
the game. He eventually took over the program and progressed from a coach who wanted to desperately win to a coach that wanted his kids to be
successful at everything they attempted to do above all else. That mindset has spilled over into his job as an athletic administrator at a new high school.

The Effects Of Repetitive Head Impact On Athletes Essay
Over the years, the demand for research on the cognitive and neuropathological consequences of repetitive head impacts in athletes has been an uprise

Descriptive Essay About Football
In our lives struggles and difficulties will never be avoided; they are a part of life. Whether or not we are ready or prepared, they are always going

Steroids Be Banned
Performing and playing at the highest level is crucial to athletes, multiple sports involve the use of different physical abilities that require athletes to be
well trained to succeed during competition. High School athletes are often overstretched by coaches, family, and peers to always win, as a result many
teen athletes turn to steroids to raise themselves faster. Steroids influence body metabolism, the process in which the body changes food into energy to
provide the body with the strength needed to grow and function. The use of steroids to alter bodily functions is considered unethical and therefore

Female athletes have shown to use performance enhancing drugs less often and in much smaller quantities when compared to male athletes. However,
the small percentage of women that have reported taking steroids suffer the side effects at a faster rate. According to Monroe, "The chemical

body causing the development of male characteristics." Performance enhancing drugs lead to deepening of the voice, increased body hair loss of scalp

any kind of steroid is extremely harmful to the body and mind of an athlete and the negative effects of the drug far outweigh any short term advantages.
On the other hand, some say that steroids have positive effects and should not be banned from sports. Objectors argue that performance enhancing

The Ethics Of BYU Idaho's Sport Organization

  • 1. The Ethics Of The Byu Idaho Sport Organization This week's reading focused on the topics of organizational theory and the management of sport organizations along with organizational goals and effectiveness. Through the writings of Slack and Parent in Understanding Sport Organizations, the aforementioned topics were well versed in delivering information to be prepared for this reflection. Describe one of the "Ways to Look at Sport Organizations" (Chapter 1) using the athletic department described in the case study (or you can select another sport organization for which you are more familiar)? Over the course of reading chapter 1, we learned multiple ways to look at sport organizations. With the use of, "A New Collegiate Model," a case study on the intra–collegiate athletics at BYU Idaho, I will examine them based on one of the models from said chapter. Examining the BYU Idaho sport organization as a culture seemed rather logical to myself. When looking at an organization as a culture, one needs to view the culture of which the organization is placed in; the culture of the society will more than likely have an influence on their mode of operation. Slack & Parent explained to us that when studying organizations as cultures, know that they are concerned with the roles leadership plays in the manifestation of culture. At BYU Idaho, I believe they did a respectable job at delegating roles in the transition from an intercollegiate to an intra–collegiate program. With the discontinuation of one model to introduce and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 3. The Behavior Of Uc Davis Athletes On An Ncaa... Match Observation The purpose of this assignment was to observe and analyze the behaviors of UC Davis athletes on an NCAA Intercollegiate sports team. I was able to observe the athletes in their natural setting and observe their behaviors before, during and after the game. This assignment is important because we are observing athletes without interfering. This gives the researcher the ability to observe their natural behavior while playing the game. From this experience we are trying to learn the different behaviors that each player has, or if they have any similarities. We are also learning how players interact with their team, their coaches and the crowd. On Thursday, October 6, I was able to attend the UC Davis women's soccer game on our home field against Cal State Fullerton. I arrived to the game with 2 other classmates about 30 minutes prior to the start of the game. The setting and environment prior to the game was calm and relaxed with music playing on the speakers. The weather was hot, with a slight breeze and many people brought hats and sunglasses since they would be sitting in the heat throughout the game. Everyone who was there early was talkative and smiling whether they were fellow students or family members, they all seemed to be supportive and ready to watch the game. 1. I have never witnessed an NCAA Athletic Competition in women's soccer before. I am not familiar with the game of soccer as much I am with other types of sports. Therefore, this was my ... • 4. Game Related Statistics Anyone who is a sports fanatic can say that when their team is playing, they will go all out in cheering and showing their support so that everyone else can see how much their team means to them. So how does one choose their favorite team? In basketball, there is no argument that fans stick true to their teams, whether it's because it's their hometown or they have the most valuable players on the team (MVP) or simply just based on statistics. Whichever way a person decides which team they'll go for, one thing remains constant; a supporting fan that will always be quick to defend their team in any situation. Whenever it's basketball season, there is always one question that arises, "Who are you going for?" For most the answer is simple, the team... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Based on the article by Sampio, Jamie; McGarry, Tim; Calleja–Gonzalez, Julio; Saiz, Sergio Jimenez; Alcazar,Schelling and Balciunas, Mindauhas (2015) "One of the most common methods of monitoring sports performance is using game–related statistics to evaluate technical and tactical behavior". There are people who can rave about a team's overall statistics or just an individual player, especially when their trying to prove their point in a dispute against an opposing team fan. Statistics can show evidence in ranking which player is worth talking about. A person who bases their favorite basketball team by statistics can easily back up their information by showing numbers. No matter what any other person can throw at them, they will be quick to mention how many championship rings a player has gotten, or how many championships a team has won overall. They will have knowledge in their team player's overall shooting percentage as well as their rebounds, assists and so on. So, if a person is deciding their basketball team by statistics, they will have a pretty good advantage in always proving their team as the best by evidence in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Jonest Incident Narrative I woke up to the irritating ring of my alarm, the smell of French toast lingering through the air, and the feeling of a spider crawling up my arm. It started out like any other day, but I was wired from the second I woke up, hoping this day would be one to remember. I set my alarm earlier than normal that morning so that I could relax in a hot shower. My sisters beat me to the punch, however, and my shower, per usual, was frigid. I hoped it wasn't an omen for how my day would proceed, but my watering taste buds suggested otherwise. After I showered and got dressed, I went upstairs and finally devoured the French toast I had been smelling all morning. As expected, it tasted like heaven and renewed my excitement for the day. I once saw a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The seventh inning started, and the other team was furious that they were now losing. We got the first out, then the second out, and all we had to do was get one more out. Their best hitter was up, and our coach told everyone to scoot back a little. The pitch was thrown, and the kid ripped a shot right in my direction. I froze at first, not knowing what to do. I had a million thoughts racing through my mind, but luckily I just reacted and ran and caught the ball. The crowd went crazy. My teammates and my coaches ran and dog piled me. My heart was beating faster than it ever had. "We won!" was the only thing I could seem to get out of my mouth. My teammates started chanting my name. The most crucial hour of my day was coming to an end, but before we could go home our coaches made us all come into a huddle. The smell of sweaty boys, the roar of the crowd, and the sweet taste of victory–which tasted suspiciously like super–chocolatey brownies–was all I could bring in. Normally after our games, our coach would talk for 10 or 15 minutes about what we could have done better, but this time he said only one thing to us in that huddle: "Well boys, this is definitely a day to ... • 6. Anabolic Steroids In The Sports World In today's sports world, performance enhancing drugs have become more and more of a problem. Famous athletes with records upon records do not always play by the rules. Celebrities with countless amounts of fans and admires turn out to be nothing but a cheater. These athletes are paid millions of dollars to simply perform, entertain, and follow the rules of their respected sport. Performance enhancing drugs (PED's) have changed the way we look at athletes and their legacies. One of the most common PEDs used in the sports world is anabolic steroids. Of course a long list of other drugs come to mind such as Adderall and testosterone, but they all increase the human body's physical capabilities in some way shape or form. Athletes use anabolic... Most people pictured him as a world class athlete and hero after not only defeating cancer, but demolishing his competing year in and year out in the Tour de France. His glorious life story inspired thousands if not millions of people across the world effected by cancer. All of his fame came to a crashing halt in 2013 when he admitted that the use of banned substances resulted in his success (Allen J.). Armstrong's name, image, and legacy destroyed in the minds people all across the world. Even if he were still able to win those titles without the use of illegal substances, the records and titles were all stripped from his name. Armstrong's dope scandal opened the eyes of fans in every sport, causing them to have second thoughts on professional athletes who find tremendous success in their respected sport. It also forced the sport of bicycling to admit to problems related to drug use, leading to extreme anti–doping involvement (Pugmire L.) One man's cheating techniques has changed the entire sports community as a whole. Another professional sports organization effected by the use of PEDs is the MLB. Crushing monster homeruns that measure at extraordinary lengths is not an easy task. Throughout history the MLB has ran into multiple dilemmas where some of the sport's biggest names have broken the rules. • 7. Student Athletic Policy Paper Many policies in interscholastic sports may be controversial none more so than the play–to–play or activity fee for student athletes. In this paper, three policies at Enterprise High School and Enterprise City Schools are discussed. From the activity fee students are paying, fundraising being part of head coaches duties, and finally the existence of multiple booster clubs for the athletic department. Enterprise High School does not have a formal handbook for athletic. When asked the athletic director Trent Trawick response was "the athletic department at Enterprise does not need a handbook for athletics. We comply with all Alabama High School Athletic Association bylaws and Enterprise city school board policies." (Trawick, 2017). The policies discussed in this paper are from Enterprise school board policies and job descriptions for head coaches. It is important for schools to maintain proper policies and procedures. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Each sport assesses an activity fee. For example, if a student athlete plays basketball and runs track that athlete or their family will pay two separate fees, one for each sport. The activity fees are typically around three hundred dollars, however the EHS athletic director does not mandate an amount. It is up to the head coach to decided how much an activity fee is and what the proceeds will be used for. If a lower income family has multiple athletes play a variety of sports the current activity fee format may seem as an extreme difficulty which ultimately can harm sports participation. To ensure equitable participation across all income levels, barriers to sports participation that may disproportionately affect lower–income students such as pay to–play fees, equipment costs or lack of school–supported transportation, need to be addressed. • 9. Bronc Nation: A Short Story November 18th 2016 was a huge day for me. It was also a great day for Bronc Nation as a whole but before we can talk about that we need to start at the beginning. It was the summer after eighth grade year. Well actually I guess it started even earlier than that for me. I was probably around the age of eleven or twelve when my dad told me about how he won a state championship in Columbus in 1980. After he told me this I wanted to be like him and win a championship so much I would have given anything. My dad was my hero for many reasons and this added to it. This year Cullen, Luke Max, Emmitt, Clay, and me rode down in coach G's Suburban instead of going down on the bus. This was so much better than riding the bus. We were able to make more stops and the seats were really comfortable. The whole way down we were cracking jokes, talking about different stuff, and making fun of Cullen and his foolish comments on how Trump was going to "Make America Great Again" This was by far the best trip to CSU I had been on. Hockey is considered a collision sport, as known as contact sports, which is when professional athletes collide with each other or alternative objects such as the boards. Due to hockey being a collision sport, many injuries are sustained through colliding and fighting, especially in the head. Head trauma in hockey is the leading cause of injury in hockey. Ron Duguay, a former NHL player, expressed his concern about reoccurring hits to the head he took during his career. He played helmetless in the NHL from 1978 to 1989. Ron explained how his memory had gotten worse. It was also reported that there was an estimate of 12 concussions per season from the years 1987 to 1996. And from the year 1997 to 2002 there was a mean of 56 concussions per season. This number grew by an increasing factor. It is now proclaimed that during the years of 2005 to 2012 about 64 reported concussions were recorded. Even though the NHL continue to take strict action to enforce bans on hits to the head, the numbers are still increasing. This means that more players are being prone to having concussions which can lead them to get CTE. The fighting effects the game a lot because player will not be able to perform to how they used to before all those injuries. Nevertheless, this brutal tradition of fighting in professional hockey needs to be banned because athletes have to deal with chronic headaches, dizziness, nausea, and balance problems due to having long term health problems because of the sport they love to ... • 11. The Effects Of Concussions On Athletes And Concussions Lastly, having multiple concussions produce long term effects on athletes. This was proven by a study performed that compared athletes with a history of concussions to athletes with no concussion history using a concussion test known as: Immediate Post Concussion Assessment and Cognitive Testing (ImPACT). This is a computerized test that measures memory capabilities to determine if an athlete has aconcussion. It was taken by the athletes prior to their season to find a baseline level. This baseline would then be used to determine if someone has a concussion by comparing it to a post–concussion result of the ImPACT. On August 29, 2013, over a year after the lawsuits were filed, there was an agreement between the NFL and the players; the NFL agreed to pay $765 million to pay for medical examinations, compensation for the concussed athletes, and research towards concussions. Just as the NFL thought the lawsuits were over, on January 14, 2014, the agreement was declined by a federal judge because the judge believed that $765 million was not enough money ("NFL Concussion"). These former athletes are working hard to ensure that young athletes do not have to suffer like they do. The issue of multiple concussions is finally becoming recognized by major sports. The awareness has led to a variety of interventions to help protect athletes. There have been two recent interventions concerning football helmets. First off, Riddell, a company that produces football helmets, has released a new helmet that is supposed to best prevent concussions. This helmet is known as the Revolution Speed. The starting point guard Corey Shriller, a junior had already scored 33 points and was looking forward to his first state title, but Saint Thomas High School was standing in his way and leading by 2 with 24 seconds left on the clock. Saint Thomas had the ball and Corey was forced to foul. Corey darted towards a Saint Thomas Guard named Noah Simmons and took him out. The game was already intense but with their tempers flaring the two guards got into it and the ref was forced to throw them out of the game. Both benches cleared and the crowd went wild. Both benches had been cleared so the refs signaled for the time to run off, they would not finish the game and East Davidson had lost. As Corey walked through the narrow hall towards the locker room he said ВЁNext year will be even better.ВЁ School had been over now for a few weeks and Corey was visiting his dad in Mexico. When Corey was 10 his parents split up and his dad moved to Mexico, so every year he would spend the summer with is dad on the beaches of Mexico. Corey hadnВґt played much basketball since that loss to Saint Thomas back in April but he wasn't worried about that now, he was on vacation. Essay on Personal Narrative- Soccer State Championship Personal Narrative– Soccer State Championship On February 28, 2005, I experienced one of the most exciting events that anyone could ever experience – winning a State Championship. The day my soccer team made history is a day I'll never forget. However it is not just that day we won the title, but the whole experience of the preceding season that got us there. From start to finish, my team's 2004–2005 season taught me that the platitude is true. You can do anything you set your mind to. From before day one, all our minds were set. The coaches were, and are, good friends, but have totally different coaching styles. The first was laid back and carefree with a great sense of humor, which made him well liked by everyone he coached. The new coach had a reputation for being arrogant, strict, and having a no–tolerance policy when it comes to joking around. Because of this perspective some girls held of our new coach, many were upset with the change. After we attended a tournament over the break, however, the girls realized that they had been wrong about the coach and he was just what we needed to help us achieve our goal. Unfortunately we still had tension among players. It even got as far as one player taking the ball from another on the field in the middle of the game. As the season progressed, this problem practically solved itself as we bonded at practices, pre–game get–togethers, and voluntarily spending time together on weekends. We grew from barely tolerating each other to being such a tight–knit group that even schoolmates noticed. With the Christmas tournament aside, we entered the post–season without a loss. • 20. Hegemonic Masculinity Summary R.W. Connell's (1995) concept of hegemonic masculinity is the most significant theoretical device for understanding the masculinity hierarchy. Demetriou (2001) states how hegemonic masculinity expresses two different social practices, from a social constructivist view. The first is that men benefit from the patriarchal system of society. The second process is that there is an "intramasculine hierarchy" by which the social order of men is created and maintained. Connell (1995) argues that this is the reason for the societal gender order where not only do men uphold power over women, but also certain men are dominant over other men. Demetriou (2001) criticises Connell's term of hegemonic masculinity for being too broad, as the main focus is usually placed on the intramasculine process. He therefore believes this process to be "internal hegemony" (ibid). In terms of the 'intramasculine order', Connell argues that there is a specific type of masculinity that is revered the most and holds dominance over all other. Men who most closely exemplify this archetype are considered to hold the most social capital. In this model Connell states that gay men are at the bottom of the order and straight men that embody certain characteristics sit atop the hierarchy. Connell's model furthers Brannon's (1976) work. In this he suggests four rules by which men should follow. Hence, in Connell's (1995) model homophobia is a significant factor in sitting at the top of the hierarchy and ... Instead of being below average, the Panthers became a tough, play–off contending team to watch out for. Before the season started there wasn't too much confidence from anybody, not even from the coaches and players. Assistantcoach of the Panther Football team, John Schultz, said "I would say we probably would win about three games by beating the teams that were really down and lose to the average and above average teams." The reason the lack of confidence was their was because of how heavy they graduated. The Panthers lost their starting quarterback, fullback, two linemen, and a wide receiver. Every one of these players were key players in their six wins last season. The big question in the pre–season was whether or not new faces could fill the shoes of the graduated seniors. Strobel University of Central Florida Abstract With the growing concern over head injuries in professional sports, athletes are now asking questions and expecting answers. Athletes now want to know what their quality of life will look like after their career as an athlete has come and gone. The present study evaluates the differences in cognitive impairment between athletes who have a history of multiple head injuries/traumas and athletes who have not had multiple head injuries/traumas. The hypothesis states that athletes who have had multiple head injuries/traumas will show more signs of cognitive impairment when compared to athletes who do not have a history of multiple head injuries/traumas. A sample of 30 athletes with multiple head injuries/traumas, and 30 athletes without multiple head injuries/traumas were selected. Athletes from both groups were asked to complete the Repeatable Battery for the Assessment of Neuropsychological Status (RBANS) as a dependent measure of cognitive impairment. The results determined that athletes with multiple head injuries /traumas scored lower on the RBANS than the athletes without multiple head injuries/traumas. Initially, the data showed that boys' ages 10–12 that sampled multiple sports had significant differences in strength, speed, agility, and gross motor coordination. There also existed a positive correlation between the number of hours spent participating in sports per week and its effect on performance. Boys who spent more hours per week training did significantly better on the strength, flexibility, speed, agility, cardiovascular endurance, and gross motor coordination tests among all age groups. Advantages of this study include that it's ability to gather data from a large population of boys from multiple age groups (6–12) and focuses on the basic components of athletic development due to anthropometry, physical fitness, and gross motor coordination. Unfortunately, the study failed to recognize if the children who participated in multiple sports have better physical fitness and gross motor coordination solely due to sport sampling. It is possible that better athletes choose to participate in more sports. My elements where the first 30 games of 2016 like stated before, and my variables were goals for, goals against, the result of the game and the distance traveled. The elements are listed by the day and I also listed who the opponent was so one can tell if it was an away game or a home game. For the first variable, result of the game, I put the outcomes in a table and also made a pie chart showing their frequency. There were four possible outcomes, win, loss, overtime loss, and shootout loss. The reason why I did this variable is because each result helps or hurts the team in some way. When the team gets a win in any way they get two points, when they lose in regulation, they get two points, and if they lose in either overtime or in a shootout they only get one point. Turns out the Albany Devils won over half of their first 30 games in 2016, with a total of 18 wins. They earn zero points in seven of the sampled games. In 17% of the sampled games they earn only one point per game. The team did not even have one overtime loss. The Rangers will need strong performances night in and night out in order to make the playoffs. Every game is incredibly critical, and the difference between winning the AL West and gaining a Wild Card spot is huge. If the Rangers win the West, then they will be guaranteed a spot in the ALDS where they will get to play in a five game series. If they only get a WC spot, then they will find themselves in a one game playoff, which anything can happen in a one game playoff. Not only that, but Cole Hammels would only get to ... Of the 29 batters he faced, he struck out four and induced 17 batters to fly out. Lewis is at his best when he is able to get hitters to hit lazy popups, and that is exactly what he did this past week. Cold: Delino DeShields I'm a huge DeShields fan, what he has brought to the table has been absolutely huge for the Rangers. His ability to swipe bags and be a threat on the base paths is something this lineup needed, and he has certainly brought it. That being said, DeShields has struggled over the course of the past week. DeShields is hitting a putrid .154 (2–for–13) with a double and two runs scored. His six strikeouts in the past five games is also a cause for concern, especially when you consider the speed he possesses. That speed being said, it is also a little alarming that he hasn't had a stolen base over the past ten games. But not all hope is lost for DeShields, as he has an OBP of .353 over the past week. So while he is still getting on base, you would love to see him generating a few more chances. Hot: Cole ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 37. Descriptive Essay About Football In our lives struggles and difficulties will never be avoided; they are a part of life. Whether or not we are ready or prepared, they are always going to happen. The fact is that life is ever changing. And, as one season ends and those doors are closed, new seasons as well as new opportunities will come in place of those gone. What makes the difference in each day, however, is how we respond when that adversity comes our way. As was the case this past year in football for me. For me, the most painful and most disheartening game one year (2016), then became the most amazing and elated game I would ever experience when we played the next year (2017). Shut out. Shattered. Eradicated – these are just a couple words that I attempt to use to describe the rivalry game of 2016. It was the most anticipated game of the year; the game against our arch rivals, the Wilco Falcons. It was the Christian Cougars against the Wilco Falcons. Through the first half of the game, we fought hard to keep it close. We stayed in stride with our opponents and performed at our most, in order to go into halftime trailing just 22–14. Coming out of halftime, however, the end came fast. We were shut down and blown out by 42 points in the second half of the game. In short, it quickly became a massacre, and there was no hope for any sort of comeback. As the seconds to the end counted down, one by one, tears flooded my eyes and numbness took my heart. Finally, the clock hit zero, and the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Performance enhancing drugs lead to deepening of the voice, increased body hair loss of scalp hair, liver or kidney damage, oily skin, acne, facial pore enlargement, clitoral enlargement, and decreased breast size. Regardless of gender and sport, any kind of steroid is extremely harmful to the body and mind of an athlete and the negative effects of the drug far outweigh any short term advantages. On the other hand, some say that steroids have positive effects and should not be banned from sports. Objectors argue that performance enhancing drugs make athletes stronger and provide better entertainment. • 39. Descriptive Essay On Chicago Basketball Game Last night I made the 65 minute trip to Mechanicsburg, Ohio to take in the division six ,region 24 playoff game, between undefeated Mechanicsburg(10–0) and 7–3 Miami East. This was my first time seeing Miami East play. I was hoping to see a battle for four quarters, but felt the home team was going to be moving to week twelve. This one started out strangely, when Kaleb Romero, the Indians quarterback was picked off on the games third play, but a big hit on the Miami East player resulted in a fumble, that the Indians recovered. After getting a fresh start with the ball Romero was sacked by, Logan West, with 9:34 left on the quarter. West would have his number called several times as this game went on. The gentleman setting next to me had told me the JV team from Miami East was undefeated and had been since biddy league. Well when they came onto the field for the teams final drive, you did not know if they knew this was a,39–0 game. Because they easily moved the ball twenty–one–yards for their teams first score, with Freshman Kaleb scoring from two–yards out to end the game.
