effectiveness. Through the writings of Slack and Parent in Understanding Sport Organizations, the aforementioned topics were well versed in
delivering information to be prepared for this reflection. Describe one of the "Ways to Look at Sport Organizations" (Chapter 1) using the athletic
department described in the case study (or you can select another sport organization for which you are more familiar)? Over the course of reading
chapter 1, we learned multiple ways to look at sport organizations. With the use of, "A New Collegiate Model," a case study on the intra–collegiate

Match Observation The purpose of this assignment was to observe and analyze the behaviors of UC Davis athletes on an NCAA Intercollegiate sports
team. I was able to observe the athletes in their natural setting and observe their behaviors before, during and after the game. This assignment is

As Christmas break approached, the team faced what was going to be our biggest challenge of all. Due to his new job, our coach now took the title of

R.W. Connell's (1995) concept of hegemonic masculinity is the most significant theoretical device for understanding the masculinity hierarchy.
Demetriou (2001) states how hegemonic masculinity expresses two different social practices, from a social constructivist view. The first is that men
benefit from the patriarchal system of society. The second process is that there is an "intramasculine hierarchy" by which the social order of men is
created and maintained. Connell (1995) argues that this is the reason for the societal gender order where not only do men uphold power over women, but
also certain men are dominant over other men. Demetriou (2001) criticises Connell's term of hegemonic masculinity for being too broad, as the main

impairment between athletes who have a history of multiple head injuries/traumas and athletes who have not had multiple head injuries/traumas. The
hypothesis states that athletes who have had multiple head injuries/traumas will show more signs of cognitive impairment when compared to athletes
who do not have a history of multiple head injuries/traumas. A sample of 30 athletes with multiple head injuries/traumas, and 30 athletes without
multiple head injuries/traumas were selected. Athletes from both groups were asked to complete the Repeatable Battery for the Assessment of

For my project I chose to look at the Albany Devils first 30 games of 2016. I chose this topic because my parents have season tickets to Albany Devils
games and I either go to them when I am home or watching them on my laptop when I am at school. My elements where the first 30 games of
2016 like stated before, and my variables were goals for, goals against, the result of the game and the distance traveled. The elements are listed by the
day and I also listed who the opponent was so one can tell if it was an away game or a home game.
For the first variable, result of the game, I put the outcomes in a table and also made a pie chart showing their frequency. There were four possible
outcomes, win, loss, overtime loss, and shootout loss. The reason why I did this variable is because each result helps or hurts the team in some
way. When the team gets a win in any way they get two points, when they lose in regulation, they get two points, and if they lose in either overtime
or in a shootout they only get one point. Turns out the Albany Devils won over half of their first 30 games in 2016, with a total of 18 wins. They
earn zero points in seven of the sampled games. In 17% of the sampled games they earn only one point per game. The team did not even have one

Shut out. Shattered. Eradicated – these are just a couple words that I attempt to use to describe the rivalry game of 2016. It was the most anticipated
game of the year; the game against our arch rivals, the Wilco Falcons. It was the Christian Cougars against the Wilco Falcons. Through the first half of
the game, we fought hard to keep it close. We stayed in stride with our opponents and performed at our most, in order to go into halftime trailing just
22–14. Coming out of halftime, however, the end came fast. We were shut down and blown out by 42 points in the second half of the game. In short,

Performing and playing at the highest level is crucial to athletes, multiple sports involve the use of different physical abilities that require athletes to be
well trained to succeed during competition. High School athletes are often overstretched by coaches, family, and peers to always win, as a result many
teen athletes turn to steroids to raise themselves faster. Steroids influence body metabolism, the process in which the body changes food into energy to
provide the body with the strength needed to grow and function. The use of steroids to alter bodily functions is considered unethical and therefore

Female athletes have shown to use performance enhancing drugs less often and in much smaller quantities when compared to male athletes. However,
the small percentage of women that have reported taking steroids suffer the side effects at a faster rate. According to Monroe, "The chemical

Last night I made the 65 minute trip to Mechanicsburg, Ohio to take in the division six ,region 24 playoff game, between undefeated
Mechanicsburg(10–0) and 7–3 Miami East. This was my first time seeing Miami East play. I was hoping to see a battle for four quarters, but felt the
home team was going to be moving to week twelve.
This one started out strangely, when Kaleb Romero, the Indians quarterback was picked off on the games third play, but a big hit on the Miami East
player resulted in a fumble, that the Indians recovered.

The gentleman setting next to me had told me the JV team from Miami East was undefeated and had been since biddy league. Well when they came
onto the field for the teams final drive, you did not know if they knew this was a,39–0 game. Because they easily moved the ball twenty–one–yards for
their teams first score, with Freshman Kaleb scoring from two–yards out to end the game.
The Vikings had recovered a fumble to set up the score as the Vikings never did stop trying in this one.
