2. Analyzing
• For this unit plan, about abstract art (Jackson
Pollock) I will have small lectures for the students
to listen too and take notes, along with a hands
on group project and a project to do on there
own. The project will go along with Jacksons own
work.
3. Objective
• Students will be able to see the difference in
realism art and abstract art by viewing pictures
and definitions. Seeing many examples of both
realism and abstract, by seeing these students
will be able to make an abstract piece by the end
of the week with 100% accuracy.
4. Breakdown
• Day 1: Students will learn about the differences in Abstract art and
Realism art.
• Day 2: Students will observe images and videos of Jackson
Pollock’s artwork.
• Day 3: As a group students will create a similar piece like Jackson’s.
• Day 4: Students will create a Jackson piece on their own.
• Day 5: Students will have a critique showing their pieces that they
made, explaining why they used the colors they did and what they
learned.
