Dillard Figurative Language
Many times, an artist writes a song which is based on an experience that has happened in his or her life. Music can be the way an artist describes a
thought provoking memory or a poignant lesson learned. All genres of music include songs that are happy or sad, no genre is one sided or bland.
Normally, the more upbeat and faster songs have a positive outlook on their subject, and a slower song or ballad, usually has a sadder portrayal. In the
genre of bluegrass, the lyrics and melody are often based on a life lesson with a broad look at life as a whole. In the song
"There Is a Time", Rodney Dillard uses literary devices such as imagery, figurative language, and symbolism to compare his own life experiences to
the seasonal changes of the year. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Then you enter the summer phase, which comparatively refers to a younger adult, where it describes that, "you'll find your love in the summer sun"
(Dillard 14). Summer is a time where the warmth of the sun is constant, and the desire to share that comfort with a
McCauley 2 partner feels just as natural. Next, in the fall, a person is described as getting older. The lyrics say that during fall, "The woods are
gray the paths are old" (Dillard 10). The woods are gray could mean the time in a person's life when their age is increasing and their hair is turning
gray. The paths are old could describe how a person's accomplishments and life achievements feel like such a long time ago.
There are many different examples of figurative language in the song, the first talks about the springtime. When the song says "So do your roaming in
the springtime" (Dillard 13), it is not actually meaning go roam around in the spring. Instead, it is referring to roaming to find the person you love
when you are young and in the optimistic and renewed spring of your life.
Another figurative example are the lyrics, "The days will pass like summer storms" (Dillard 2), the meaning has nothing to do with storms. The storms
are used as a reference to a short

Rose: A Fictional Narrative
In the forest, one lonely night a girl was roaming around looking for something but she wasn't quite sure herself what it was. Rose was walking
around and her surroundings were filled with tiny and very squishy things. She could've have even stepped in one of them and she would have them
stuck in her shoes, that clueless she was. As the night kept getting longer the more she roamed the big dark forest. She stumbled along something in
her path and she was curious to know what it was. From the looks of it, it was something bright red. The closer she got the more interesting it was
for her. Out of nowhere "Cuckoo!" A bird flew across her face and she jumped but stared at the bright nightly sky waiting for the bird to return. She

Persuasive Essay On Animal Shelters
Taking Action Introduction: "Companion animals are an important part of the American family life with over 60% of families owning pets, meaning
that approximately 78.2 million dogs and 86.4 million cats live in homes" (Industry Statistics & Trends, 2011). With an abundant amount of animals
living in the United States there are some who are unwanted and put on the streets to defend themselves. Resulting in animals having offspring
roaming around because they are not spayed or neutered, and this is a problem that keeps on growing in all states over the United States. The
Humane Society of the United States says that there are only 3,500 animal shelters available here in America, and over six to eight million dogs and
cats go to these shelters every year. Having a non–kill animal shelter offered to each town with more than 1,000 residents will decrease the
overpopulation of animals and deaths that occur to these animals.
Proposal: The problem is that there are towns that do not offer Animal Shelters to their residents causing them to abandon their animals if they can not
take care of them. "Shelters are operated by local, county, and state governments, non–profit animal welfare organizations, and partnerships among such
entities. Estimates suggest that between 4200 and 5000 animal shelters exist throughout the United States"(Miller). Obviously there are not enough
animal shelters available for these animals that are surviving on their own. "In the US and each day 70,000

Savagery In Lord Of The Flies Essay

younger boy of the group explained that he saw a beast at night. No one besides Piggy took his explanation into consideration. In fact, most of the
boy's just laughed as if it was a pathetic joke. In the text it states, "He still says he saw the beastie. It came and went away again an' came back and
wanted to eat him," (Golding 49). The little boy said the snakely beast creature wanted to eat him, but most of the boys laughed and said he was just

In the novel The Lord of the Flies the author, William Golding makes it well known that the boys are stranded on the island without adult
supervision and normal civilization, which leads to savagery since they eventually seek more fun and adventure while stranded, depend on violence
for survival, and they fail to resist being in fear of what could be lurking on the island. When the boys first approached the island, they made set
rules and stated that wherever the conch is there would be a meeting. Once the rules were set and stoned, they started disobeying the rules because
they had no adult supervision to tell them they were doing anything wrong. Pigs are very well known on the island they're stranded on and violence
becomes a main source of survival to most of the boys. Being rescued wasn't their main thought after time and they only thought of hunting the pigs
everyday. Lastly, a little boy takes notice to a beast at night and tries to inform the whole crew, but no one besides Piggy believes him. They all took it
as a joke and just laughed, but they don't know how long they'll be on the island so they should take into consideration that there could be a beast

Marketing Mix And Telephone Operator O2
Introduction There is no single indicator of performance but a variety of different measures which provide an insight into a telephone operator 's
economic, social, managerial and consumer perspectives. These may relate to price, quality, user choice or efficiency. A good performance in one
service does not allow one to predict a favourable performance in other aspects and no operator can claim to be perfect in all of these respects. In a
highly competitive business environment like the telecommunications industry, subscriber–based service models are something of a mandate In
markets like these, business successes can be validated by a very low churn rates. _Churn rate is a wide term and can be applied to a company 's
customer base, revenue, employee turnover etc._ This is ideally a result of the deployment of successful business models and a logical application of

Essay Disadvantages Of Leaving Home
Traveling abroad this holidays? Or may be looking around for the most awaited business meet overseas? Well, there's lot to do before heading off to
your destination, one of the most important to–do items is to make sure your phone works internationally. After all, those phone calls, photo uploads,
emails, maps, or the travel guide need a reliable connection. No, leaving the phone safely at home is not an option here. But, how to ensure you stay
connected abroad without breaking the bank? Here are few tips,
1. Get your phone unlocked
Okay, so first thing first. Many phones are originally sold with a lock on its software, which means it may not work with a new SIM card from
another country installed. Unlocked phone means you can use a cheaper SIM card to stay connected.
So, make sure your GSM phone is unlocked.
If you don't know if your phone is locked you can:
пЃ¬ask your operator, or
пЃ¬try and place another SIM in your phone and see if it recognizes the other operator network, or
пЃ¬Use one of the many sites on the web where you can get your phone unlocked quickly for a few bucks. You just need to share your phone's IMEI (
International Mobile Equipment Identity number), a unique 14–16 digit number that identifies your phone and follow few simple easy steps to get it
unlocked. Simply dial *#06# on your phone to check your IMEI. If a device is reported stolen, the device will be unusable on most carrier networks
even if the SIM card is changed. Verify the IMEI number and and

Pros And Cons Of Building A Dog Park Essay

building a dog park in a nearby area where it is accessible for dog owners to easily make their way to.
"Bad behavior caused by dogs being lonely and poorly exercised is partly responsible for the 2 million pet dogs that end up at U.S. animal shelters
every year." Put this in your own perspective. How would you feel if you lived in a world alone with no one to talk to? A normal human being would

CTS–to–self uses less overhead and is also used with B devices to aid in avoiding collisions while aiding the AP from not having its transmissions
disrupted. 8. What is the "protection" scheme talked about in the standard? In short, how do 11g nodes know that an 11b node is associating and how
is CCK involved? The Protection scheme is used for listening to what node is on the channel that is broadcasting, the protection scheme RTS/CTS will
send a broadcast out to advise that nodes are using a specific channel; CTS over DSSS is specifically used with B nodes to prevent collision on the
same channel. Mixed nodes cannot use the same channel simultaneously without collision detection. 9. In addition to the added overhead of the RTS
/CTS scheme, what else causes the drop in throughput you see? Are there other factors that can affect the throughput? Hidden nodes will cause a drop
in throughput. Hidden nodes are stations that can hear a common AP but cannot hear each other. Hidden nodes will cause collisions because the
stations cannot tell if other stations are using the same channel preventing them from waiting their turn to broadcast hence the need for RTS/CTS. 10.
In situations where 802.11g and 802.11b are coexisting, what steps might you take to minimize the impact of the presence of the legacy nodes? Options
to minimize the impact of legacy nodes on the netork include using AP that

Passport/Visa Authentication Protocols for Ubiquitous...
Abstract–The development in mobile devices and wireless technologies opens up unlimited choices of mobile services such as mobile commerce.
These advances make access services available and convenient everywhere at any time. Since mobile users usually move, accessing services becomes
unavailable especially in some locations that are not covered by their home networks. Therefore, it becomes necessary to roam into foreign networks in
order to access such services. However, authenticating visiting users by a foreign network results in some security concerns. This challenge lies in the
fact that a foreign network provider does not initially have the authentication credentials of the mobile users. The existing approaches are either roaming

MUs always ask for a higher speed at a lower cost, and demand to be "Always Best Connected" [2]. However, due to the differences in wireless
technologies, it is hard to achieve both high data rate and wide coverage at once. Moreover, different technologies sometimes are operated by multiple
network providers. As a result, ubiquitous wireless network is not feasible with a single technology and a single wireless provider. That makes a MU
always in need to connect to different types of technologies and service providers depending on his/her location and the target speed. However, there
are some security concerns raised from the MU and foreign network (FN) perspectives as they cannot establish a connection without being authentic to
each other. The traditional solution to such a problem is to have a roaming agreement between the home network (HN) and FN for verification process.
Fig.1 illustrates the problem.
Roaming agreement–free challenge.
Problem Statement. A key challenge in such a heterogeneous networks environment is the possibility of roaming to administrative domains without a
pre–established roaming agreement with a MU's home domain [3]. In other words, authenticating unknown users by FN providers and preventing
unauthorised access are critical concerns.

Global Positioning Systems
The possibilities for the future afforded to the human race by the technology created today is endless. However, one technology has already and will
continue to change the way people travel around the planet: Global Positioning Systems (GPS). For travelers throughout history, figuring out where
they were and where they were going was one of the oldest problems. Even in recent years, navigation and positioning was crucial to many activities

The receiver simultaneously measures the distance to a second satellite and creates a similar sphere for the second satellite. The area where the two
spheres intersect narrows the possible location of the receiver to a circular area. Finally, the receiver measures the distance to a third satellite and
cross–references third sphere with the first two spheres. The intersection of the third sphere with the first two spheres then narrows the possible
location of the receiver to two points. In order to locate the exact position of the receiver on earth, the system employs one of two methods. The first
method is for the system to take a measurement to a fourth satellite, which is often done for other reasons described later. The alternate method is to
mathematically throw out one of the answers, which can often be done since one point is located in space or is not otherwise plausible.
The question that naturally follows is how a receiver is able to make a distance measurement from its position on earth to the satellites orbiting the
earth. The basic physics theory used to determine distance is the speed of the signal multiplied by the time it took to travel from the satellite to the
receiver. Since radio waves are used to communicate between the satellite and the receiver, the speed of the transmission is known to be the speed of
light or 186,000 miles per second. However, the determination of time is trickier since the time traveled is short, usually on the order

Dr. Brooks works at two different medical offices (MO1 and MO2). He demands to have access to patient information from both locations at any
time. He wants to use his personal laptop to access the EHR and resources for both offices.
Solution 1 Set Dr. Brooks up with a network account under each active directory domain: have him log in to whichever one he needs access to at the
time. Although he may be physically working from MO1, he will likely still need to access resources from MO2 and vice versa.
This solution would involve creation of trust relationships between domains in the MO forest. The administrator will create a transitive trust
between MO1 and MO2.The MO1 where Dr.Brooks sits would be the parent domain and the MO2 will be the child domain in the MO active
directory forest. The MO2 will automatically share resources with MO1 domain by default with authenticated users in both domains. Dr. Brook will
thus be able to access resources from both MO1 and MO2 medical offices. This solution set up eradicates the hardware dependence as Dr.Brooks can
log in from a different laptop or desktop in the network. Depending on the access controls assigned on him by the trusting domain he can access
folders, files and virtual containers. An authentication authority is responsible for the computer and user identity verification.

Carding, brings to light one of the solutions to stop animal cruelty that has been ignored lately. Most U.S. communities require a licensure for all
dogs starting at 4 to 6 months of age, but in my opinion it might be even more beneficial to require licensure as soon as a pup's eye are open, or when
a dog first changes owners, establishing ownership at the earliest practical time. Also, an anti–abandonment program can be beneficial, if we focus on
finding the owner rather than impounding the free–roaming pet. Such an approach would reduce the need for more animal shelters, and also will be a
solution to the extensive expenses for impoundment and euthanasia. In this article the authors state that: "The right to keep a pet also put a
responsibility to the owner to prevent his animal from harming or annoying people and degrading the environment. Clearly, many pet owners do not
accept their responsibility." Also he points out that "Veterinarians and other health authorities who bear official responsibility for animal control rarely
give adequate attention to free–roaming animals." That being said, I strongly agree that free–roaming animals should be taken away from their owners,
who clearly do not have any intention to take care of them. According to the above article, free–roaming animals increase the animal violence, not only

Wild Mustang Essay
For decades the iconic wild mustangs of the American West had roamed free across millions of acres of open rangeland. Their population flourished
so much that in the 19th century their numbers reached over 2 million. However, during World War I, more than 1 million were admitted for battle,
which left the rest to be hunted for meat, abused for sport and collected as an ingredient in dog and cat food. When wild mustangs officially received
protection through the Wild Free–Roaming Horses and Burros Act of 1971, it was estimated that only 17,000 wild mustangs were left on the American

vegetation in fire prone areas (9). These benefits can be attributed to my previous statements about the wild mustang's unique digestive system, which
also aids in the buildup of absorbent, "nutrient–rich humus" characteristics of healthy soil (13). It is understandable then, that if many native plant
species are benefited by the mustangs, so too are all the animals that depend on these plant species. From other herbivores that also consume the plants
to the predators that hunt the plant eaters and so on up the food chain. Wild mustangs have proven to be useful to the survival of other rangeland
species. This can be seen during winter months when the mustangs instinctively break through heavily crusted snow where the grass cannot be seen,
and use their hooves to open up frozen springs and ponds so that smaller animals are able to drink (13). The prosperity wild mustangs offer, has led to
my belief that their benefits far outweigh their adverse effects

Sub-Strategic Alliances and Growth: T-Mobile International...
Title: Sub–Strategic Alliances and Growth Case Summary FreeMobile Alliance TMO (T–Mobile International) of Germany, TEM (Telefonicia
Moviles) of Spain, and TIM (Telecom Italia Mobile) formed alliance on April 7, 2003 to offer better products and services for their customers at
home and abroad. The alliance was formed to offer better products and services for customers as well as translating the advantages into cost saving.
The alliance provided seamless services such as mobile internet, data and voice services to all customers making the alliance to create a truly world
class offering. By July 2003, Orange, the incumbent France operator joined the alliance, and the alliance was registered as FreeMove. Between 2003
and 2007, FreeMove was able to win more customers through the attractive packages and services offered to customers. The alliance was successful
because all members were leaders in their respective countries. TeleSoneria and Amena that joined the alliance in 2006 were among the leading
operators in their respective countries. Despite the strong alliance formed, there is a probing question unanswered whether FreeMove is strong enough
to compete successfully with individual mobile operators such as KPN and Vodafone. History of mobile telecommunication History of mobile
telecommunication started with the launching of first (IG), second (2G) and third (3G) generations telecommunication technologies. While the 1G is

Mobile Phone Networks
My mobile phone network coverage allows me to make a call wherever I want, and the call is never cut off by the network. Independent surveys show
that it has the best signal quality with excellent call clarity. The network covers 99 percent of the population, and it has installed more transmitters than
any other digital network company. They guarantee that they work the best; in fact, they will even add a free minute of talk time if the call is ever
lost. International and off–peak calls are the cheapest in the area. The company has been voted number 1 in customer satisfaction for 5 years in a row.

8– The mobile phone coverage in my area can be looked up on a coverage map which approximates the coverage for a given area. Actual coverage
is affected by many things such as buildings, terrain, foliage, weather, and signal strength. Outside my apartment building I can only get 3 bars out of
5, but inside I can not get anything. I hate to go outside every time I need to make a call. The deeper you go inside a building, especially grocery and
department stores, you become surrounded by air conditioning and heating units, metal shelves and other electronic units which makes it difficult for
the phone to keep a signal. 9– The mobile phone coverage in my area does not extend to my traveling. I need to buy premium coverage to call while
traveling. I can call anyone in the US as long as I have long distance in my plan. All the services and features are available if I am in my home coverage
area, but I never know if I am in the correct area. Supposedly if I am outside the area I see a roaming indicator on the phone which just may be the
letter 'R'. When I see the 'R', any calls will be charged at the roaming rate unless my plan has no roaming minutes. If that is the case I can not make or
receive any calls. 10– Most networks have coverage checker so I can check the mobile phone coverage in my area. All I have to do is enter the postal
code to see the coverage I can expect. I can get

Essay on Week 3 iLab Report
Week 3 iLab Report DeVry University NETW360: Wireless Technologies and Services MIXED 11B/11G WLAN PERFORMANCE Submitted to:
Professor: Date: Mixed 11b/11g WLAN Performance Specific questions from iLab Guidelines * Answer each of the following questions using the
sequence and data from the iLab instructions. Answer all questions in full college–level sentences. 1. In your opinion, what is the purpose of our
dropping the transmit power to such a low level? My opinion would have to go with only having 1 node as shown or just a few nodes would be
accessing this access point. With dropping the power output will help increase stability if there is a lot of interference with outside noise. This node

I would have to say that this reduction was caused from the roaming node. General Questions Concerning Mixing 11b and 11g Clients Guidelines:
Answer each of the following questions using knowledge gained from the iLab, readings from the textbook, and individual research on the Web.
Answer all questions in full college–level sentences and paragraphs. 6. Supposedly, 802.11b is backwards compatible with 802.11g, yet this lab
demonstrates there are significant problems with allowing the two to coexist. What is the primary incompatibility between b and g? As it stated and
from our results in the lab there is a major issue with running both modes. Running both B and G in mixed mode will most likely bring the speeds
down on the G nodes to almost around B speeds. The G nodes will not perform at the intended speeds. Might even use connectively between the nodes.
(Ciampa, 2013) 7. There is another mechanism besides RTS/CTS that helps the incompatibility. Explain briefly the difference between RTS/CTS and
CTS–to–self and when each is used. This helps with transmitting only when there is no traffic in the air. This helps with slow transmission and get
better performance overall. The RTS is request to send it sends out to a node and then the CTS is clear to send the requested information when the air
is clear and is able to send data with interruption. The throughput is also reduced with the extra frames. (Ciampa, 2013)

My Passion For Shelters
As I saw many dogs roaming around my neighborhood when I would always walk around and see these poor dogs without homes, made me feel
guilty. As well as seeing many people taking bats, sticks, wires and many more dangerous objects to protect themselves from the stray dogs. I
always thought to myself why aren't animal shelters or other people helping these dogs out, I was curious. There are people who will come along
willingly and there are people who need enforcement. And then there are people who are never going to respond to either. As a kid I always loved
dogs, but it never really hit me when I actually did have a passion for caring for these lovely dogs when I first volunteered at the SPCA of Texas. I
remember going in there and thinking to myself what did I just get myself into. As an animal handler, I had to be independent and not relying on
anyone to help me out, but other times I had to work in teams. After a week just working there, I constantly thought to myself that maybe I do want to
change my career. Now way before I never understood why animal's shelters... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

shelter is a way to microchip a dog, neuter/spay, vaccinate them, and do major surgeries. Not only will you help the dog, but the dog will be happy
and healthy and can go to a great home. Moreover, "A lack of published information documenting problems with the microchip data for the reclaiming
of stray animals entering Australian shelters limits improvement of the current microchipping system." (332). Maybe this is why so many dogs are
roaming the streets because they aren't microchipped, which is a big issue for many people. As well people need to know how to raise a dog

Our position stands with the European Commission that the Internet service plans, under the protection of Regulation (E.U.) 2015/2021, will remain
uncapped, fixed broadband. EU citizens are not subject to artificial limits set on transmitted data by service providers called bandwidth caps. Internet
Service Providers cannot act as middlemen in regards to deciding data speed. Companies, entrepreneurs, individuals – all should have equal access to
transmit data without limitations online.
Unfixed, data caps made by Mobile Phone Providers in the form of surcharges and roaming fees that occur either when zero data remaining on a

Mustang: Mysterious Horses
A mustang is a free roaming horse of the American west that first came or descended from horses that came to America from the Spanish. Mustangs
are often called wild horses to, but because they are descended from once domesticated horses, they are properly defined as feral horses. The original
mustangs were Colonial Spanish horses, but many other breeds America types of horses contributed to the modern mustang. Most contain a greater
genetic mixture of ranch stock and more recent breed releases, while a few are relatively unchanged, most are strongly represented in the isolated
populations. In 1971, the US Congress recognized that wild free roaming horses and burros are living symbols of the historic and pioneer spirit of the

cats can cause many problems for other species. The article also informs the readers that these cats have caused the extinction a variety of birds and the
reduction of different types of reptiles, birds, and mammals. The authors also propose a variety of solutions to deal with this problem. The first solution
that the writers suggest is that Americans should keep these cats on a leash. They also recommend that citizens should euthanize these cats or place it
in a "sanctuary" (Marra and Santella). I believe that cats should not be able to roam outside freely because a cat roaming outside can shorten

What Are Bedouin Tribals
Bedouin tribes were traditionally nomadic peoples of the Arabian Peninsula and North Africa who migrated between the desert and cultivated land
according to the season. It is this itinerant lifestyle that equipped this group with a vast knowledge of survival skills and enabled their endurance in
harsh desert environments for centuries. Through the harvest of water and trade of goods and services in exchange for food, water and currency, they
were able to migrate across Europe and ultimately to unite under a single cultural identity in the seventh century. United under the Islamic faith prior to
the death of the Prophet Muhammad in 632CE, what had been a small cluster of nomadic tribes and traders became a formidable force. With direction

Animal Captivity Dilemma
The Dilemma of Animal Captivity Animal captivity is an extremely important, and often overlooked problem that we, as human beings, have placed on
nature and the animals that live in the endangered environment. There are groups of people worldwide who are extremely against animal captivity
because of the drastic and permanent effects it leaves on the animals. These ideas of hatred against animal captivity are expressed in small ways such
as posting a picture on Instagram that represents animal cruelty in captivity. Another way these ideas can be expressed is through large
representations such as movies. Films such as Jurassic World and Blackfish are prime examples of this. Both of these films are representing the
severe repercussions that can come from keeping large, dangerous animals in captivity. Though Jurassic World is a fictional movie, it is able to send
the message that having animals that are dangerous in captivity is something that is very dangerous. Blackfish offers a real and terrifying glimpse into
what happens to the mindset of animals who are put into captivity and the threat that those animals pose to not only other animals in captivity but also
the humans who are in charge of looking after these animals. This problem of taking animals away from their natural habitat and placing them in
captivity is a prime example of how humanity is trying to assert itself as dominant of everything else. Mankind has thought of itself as a "protector" of
the wild animals by

Executive Summary : Domestic Cats And Animals
Executive Summary
Domestic cats kill wildlife. Until we accept that fact, it is not possible to understand the reasons why it happens or to mitigate the problem. The second
inescapable and unpleasant fact is that humans created this problem and are responsible for perpetuating it. The contemporary domestic cat (Felis catus),
is not by any reasonable definition a natural component of the environment, but must be regarded as an exotic, introduced species in every natural
system where it is permitted to freely roam.
Domestic cats can be classified into four categories – indoor, indoor–outdoor, free–roaming, or feral – according to whether or not they are owned, how
acclimated they are to human contact, and the amount of time they spend outside of human residences (Table I). Except for those that are strictly kept
indoors, all cats prey upon wildlife. Therefore, any comprehensive remedy must consider all the sources of cats in the environment.
The direct impact of domestic cats upon wildlife is a result of several factors. First, the sheer number of these introduced predators is enormous, and
they can occur in densities far greater than many of the native species they prey upon.
Second, like all domestic animals, cats have been bred to live in close association with people. This is true not only of owned animals, but also
abandoned and stray cats that have become feral but still lurk at the edges of human habitations. As the human footprint continually expands, so too does

Comparing The Three Punic Wars
The three Punic wars between Carthage and Rome took place over nearly a century, beginning in 263 B.C. and ending with the destruction if Carthage
in 146 B.C. When the conflict began, Rome was a small city–state. By the end of it, Rome ruled the Mediterranean, with conquered lands stretching
from Spain to Greece. However, this conquest came with a price. At the end of the Punic Wars, abuse of power, unemployed men roaming around the
city, and corruption started the downfall of the Roman Republic. Problems started when aristocrats started abusing their power by buying farms from
the poor. As the difference between the rich and poor grew larger, greedy aristocrats took full advantage of it. They bought the farms of many families
in poverty, leaving them jobless and hungry. Eventually, selfish patricians exceeded the limit of the amount of land one can own,

they must own land to. As a result, many of these men were angry at the aristocrats for leaving them with no food and shelter. Fierce riots
happened because so many people were hungry and jobless. Finally, senators started to use bribery to gain popularity. As the jobless men would do
anything for food, senators gave out food and wine to them for votes. Instead of men voting for a senator for morality and the benefit of Rome, they
voted for a senator for the benefit of them. Moreover, the senators used their power for the benefit of themselves when they were elected. Rome
turned into a place where people only cared for themselves, and would do anything for the sake of themselves. This lead to corruption and bad people

Wild Free-Burris Act Essay
The 1971 Wild Free – Roaming Horses and Burros Act requires that the government must manage the herds of wild horses. However, in the past few
years the wild horse population has increased in record numbers which caused little vegetation throughout the land. To combat this issue we should
look to sterilizing the male horses and putting the female horses on birth control, relocating the horses throughout all 50 states, and sell them to local
farmers and ranchers. According to Dr. Guy Palmer, a veterinarian at Washington State University stated," It needs to be used in a consistent,
widespread manner, which has not been done today." What Dr. Guy is talking about is that if the government decides to use fertility drugs to control
and reduce the population of horses it needs to be consistent. We are currently rounding up horses by the hundreds and placing them in holding cells.

They would buy them at auction and use them for personal use. However with selling wild horses to the public and allowing them to use the horses
however they want will go against the The 1971 Wild Free – Roaming Horses and Burros Act. Another drawback to this idea is the horse activist won't
be so pleased with this. Selling the horses will generate money to pay off some of the expenses for taking care of the horses. The population of horses
is increasing by the thousands and nobody is doing anything about it. By gathering up the horses and putting them in holding pins/ranches becomes
more and more of a financial problem and emotional problem. Fertilizing the females, relocating them over the country, or even selling some to the
public will overtime reduce the population greatly. If we continue ignoring the fact sooner or later there will be no vegetation for livestock to feed on,
causing meat prices to skyrocket or

Theme Of Manipulation In King Lear
In King Lear by William Shakespeare, Lear began to show abnormal behavior after he found out his daughters were not as promising as they made
themselves out to be. He split up his land amongst the daughters based on how much they said they loved him, but he failed to realize that his
daughters did not love him as much as they said they did. Due to his unrequited love for his daughters, his actions can be considered reasonable, even
though his delusion and irregular behavior consists of him rambling, refusing to apologize to his daughters, and roaming around England.
In the novel, Lear began to show his madness by rambling. He discussed the sin of adultery and the illegitimacy of Edmund, the son of Gloucester.
He also went onto say how women should not be given any type of authority. While his rambling is out of the ordinary, he says everything because
he is hurt. He emphasized that not everyone who comes along should be granted the power to rule a kingdom. He talked about how anyone and
everyone has the capability to abuse the power that is given to them. The significance of his rambling goes to show that the ones who abuse their
power get nothing good in return. Goneril and Regan abused their power by not allowing Lear to stay with them when he was in need, and Edmund
abused his power by making himself out to be legitimate. At the end of the novel, Edmund, Regan, and Goneril die due to abusing their power. Not
only does Lear ramble about abusing power, but he refuses to

The Things They Carried Out Rhetorical Analysis
The author uses diction to shape the tone of the passage. That tone is critical of dog owners, but at the same time showingdisplays a fondness of dogs.
You can see this tone throughout the passage in the author's diction.
One example of where you can see the tone that's critical of dog owners is when the author uses lazy to describe the owners. The word lazy has a
negative connotation of slacking, lethargicness and carelessness. When the author calls the dog owners lazy it gives you the idea that they aren't letting
their dogs be free out of kindness towards the animal, but more just because they would rather keep laying around than be responsible with their pets.
The author also give off a tone that's critical of dog owners when he uses

Three Stand-Out Poetic Devices In The Poem Tithon
Many people dream of never dying. They dream of eternal youth and immortality. With eternal youth and immortality, they avoid withering away with
age. But, with eternal youth absent it makes the speaker of the poem harder to be alive. A life of immortality without youth is what the speaker in the
excerpt from the poem "Tithon" struggles with, shown by the poetic devices, the deeper meaning, and how it connects to other situations. The are three
stand–out poetic devices in the excerpt from the poem, "Tithon". The first poetic device is a personification. This can be found in line 8 of the poem,
"A white–haired shadow roaming..." The reason this is a personification is because this speaks of a shadow roaming like a human could. This device...

One quote that supports this is, "To look on what is beautiful nor know Enjoyment..." This supports the explanation because when it speaks of not
knowing beauty anymore because of the disadvantages of old age and the struggle of wanting to remain alive with nothing to live for. These multiple
layers to the struggles of age defined in the deeper meaning have a strong line to that of dementia. In the excerpt from the poem "Tithon" there is a
distinct pathway to the struggles of dementia. This poem could relate to the aged patients of dementia because as time goes on they forget themselves
and feel confused/isolated with nothing left to live for. A part of the poem that supports this is line 6, "Consumes; I wither slowly in thine arms,". This
supports the connection because it speaks of the protagonist withering away, which is like what happens with a dementia patient's mind, and how the
old age consumes them. In summary, the endless pit of old age can be surmised to that of

Dillard Figurative Language

  • 1. Dillard Figurative Language Many times, an artist writes a song which is based on an experience that has happened in his or her life. Music can be the way an artist describes a thought provoking memory or a poignant lesson learned. All genres of music include songs that are happy or sad, no genre is one sided or bland. Normally, the more upbeat and faster songs have a positive outlook on their subject, and a slower song or ballad, usually has a sadder portrayal. In the genre of bluegrass, the lyrics and melody are often based on a life lesson with a broad look at life as a whole. In the song "There Is a Time", Rodney Dillard uses literary devices such as imagery, figurative language, and symbolism to compare his own life experiences to the seasonal changes of the year. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Then you enter the summer phase, which comparatively refers to a younger adult, where it describes that, "you'll find your love in the summer sun" (Dillard 14). Summer is a time where the warmth of the sun is constant, and the desire to share that comfort with a McCauley 2 partner feels just as natural. Next, in the fall, a person is described as getting older. The lyrics say that during fall, "The woods are gray the paths are old" (Dillard 10). The woods are gray could mean the time in a person's life when their age is increasing and their hair is turning gray. The paths are old could describe how a person's accomplishments and life achievements feel like such a long time ago. There are many different examples of figurative language in the song, the first talks about the springtime. When the song says "So do your roaming in the springtime" (Dillard 13), it is not actually meaning go roam around in the spring. Instead, it is referring to roaming to find the person you love when you are young and in the optimistic and renewed spring of your life. Another figurative example are the lyrics, "The days will pass like summer storms" (Dillard 2), the meaning has nothing to do with storms. The storms are used as a reference to a short ... That advertisement arrived in my e–mail inbox over three years ago posted by the University of Florida ,College of Veterinary Medicine, Student Chapter of the Association of Shelter Veterinarians Wet Lab Coordinator. Like so many undergraduate pre –veterinary students I was eager for opportunities to get additional experience in the word of veterinary medicine and applied; and I was fortunate enough to be selected to assist. That wet–lab was an unforeseen gateway which led to veterinary students and people happy to assist me towards my goal of veterinary school and soon guided me to Operation Catnip, a nonprofit organization striving to improve the welfare of unowned, free–roaming community cats in Alachua County by providing no–cost spay/neuter procedures and vaccines at monthly clinics and by serving as a high–quality,... It seemed an intimidating task, but I recalled how others had helped me and strove to be the best leader I could. For me, leadership is less about title and more based on the ability to influence others with your passion, inspire and motivate others to perform together and to the best of their abilities by recognizing the unique qualities of each person, open to suggestions and learning, and perhaps most rewarding, laying the foundation from which others can build upon and then stepping aside to let them ... • 5. Persuasive Essay On Animal Shelters Taking Action Introduction: "Companion animals are an important part of the American family life with over 60% of families owning pets, meaning that approximately 78.2 million dogs and 86.4 million cats live in homes" (Industry Statistics & Trends, 2011). With an abundant amount of animals living in the United States there are some who are unwanted and put on the streets to defend themselves. Resulting in animals having offspring roaming around because they are not spayed or neutered, and this is a problem that keeps on growing in all states over the United States. The Humane Society of the United States says that there are only 3,500 animal shelters available here in America, and over six to eight million dogs and cats go to these shelters every year. Having a non–kill animal shelter offered to each town with more than 1,000 residents will decrease the overpopulation of animals and deaths that occur to these animals. Proposal: The problem is that there are towns that do not offer Animal Shelters to their residents causing them to abandon their animals if they can not take care of them. "Shelters are operated by local, county, and state governments, non–profit animal welfare organizations, and partnerships among such entities. Estimates suggest that between 4200 and 5000 animal shelters exist throughout the United States"(Miller). Obviously there are not enough animal shelters available for these animals that are surviving on their own. "In the US and each day 70,000 ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In the novel The Lord of the Flies the author, William Golding makes it well known that the boys are stranded on the island without adult supervision and normal civilization, which leads to savagery since they eventually seek more fun and adventure while stranded, depend on violence for survival, and they fail to resist being in fear of what could be lurking on the island. When the boys first approached the island, they made set rules and stated that wherever the conch is there would be a meeting. Once the rules were set and stoned, they started disobeying the rules because they had no adult supervision to tell them they were doing anything wrong. Pigs are very well known on the island they're stranded on and violence becomes a main source of survival to most of the boys. Being rescued wasn't their main thought after time and they only thought of hunting the pigs everyday. Lastly, a little boy takes notice to a beast at night and tries to inform the whole crew, but no one besides Piggy believes him. They all took it as a joke and just laughed, but they don't know how long they'll be on the island so they should take into consideration that there could be a beast lurking the island. • 10. Marketing Mix And Telephone Operator O2 Introduction There is no single indicator of performance but a variety of different measures which provide an insight into a telephone operator 's economic, social, managerial and consumer perspectives. These may relate to price, quality, user choice or efficiency. A good performance in one service does not allow one to predict a favourable performance in other aspects and no operator can claim to be perfect in all of these respects. In a highly competitive business environment like the telecommunications industry, subscriber–based service models are something of a mandate In markets like these, business successes can be validated by a very low churn rates. _Churn rate is a wide term and can be applied to a company 's customer base, revenue, employee turnover etc._ This is ideally a result of the deployment of successful business models and a logical application of the marketing mix and telephone operator O2, in the recent years, have been repeatedly getting the combination right. Well, there's lot to do before heading off to your destination, one of the most important to–do items is to make sure your phone works internationally. After all, those phone calls, photo uploads, emails, maps, or the travel guide need a reliable connection. No, leaving the phone safely at home is not an option here. But, how to ensure you stay connected abroad without breaking the bank? Here are few tips, 1. Get your phone unlocked Okay, so first thing first. Unlocked phone means you can use a cheaper SIM card to stay connected. So, make sure your GSM phone is unlocked. If you don't know if your phone is locked you can: пЃ¬ask your operator, or пЃ¬try and place another SIM in your phone and see if it recognizes the other operator network, or пЃ¬Use one of the many sites on the web where you can get your phone unlocked quickly for a few bucks. You just need to share your phone's IMEI ( International Mobile Equipment Identity number), a unique 14–16 digit number that identifies your phone and follow few simple easy steps to get it unlocked. Simply dial *#06# on your phone to check your IMEI. If a device is reported stolen, the device will be unusable on most carrier networks even if the SIM card is changed. What is the "protection" scheme talked about in the standard? In short, how do 11g nodes know that an 11b node is associating and how is CCK involved? The Protection scheme is used for listening to what node is on the channel that is broadcasting, the protection scheme RTS/CTS will send a broadcast out to advise that nodes are using a specific channel; CTS over DSSS is specifically used with B nodes to prevent collision on the same channel. Mixed nodes cannot use the same channel simultaneously without collision detection. 9. In addition to the added overhead of the RTS /CTS scheme, what else causes the drop in throughput you see? Are there other factors that can affect the throughput? Hidden nodes will cause a drop in throughput. Hidden nodes are stations that can hear a common AP but cannot hear each other. Hidden nodes will cause collisions because the stations cannot tell if other stations are using the same channel preventing them from waiting their turn to broadcast hence the need for RTS/CTS. 10. Abstract–The development in mobile devices and wireless technologies opens up unlimited choices of mobile services such as mobile commerce. These advances make access services available and convenient everywhere at any time. Since mobile users usually move, accessing services becomes unavailable especially in some locations that are not covered by their home networks. Therefore, it becomes necessary to roam into foreign networks in order to access such services. However, authenticating visiting users by a foreign network results in some security concerns. This challenge lies in the fact that a foreign network provider does not initially have the authentication credentials of the mobile users. The existing approaches are either roaming ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... MUs always ask for a higher speed at a lower cost, and demand to be "Always Best Connected" [2]. However, due to the differences in wireless technologies, it is hard to achieve both high data rate and wide coverage at once. Moreover, different technologies sometimes are operated by multiple network providers. As a result, ubiquitous wireless network is not feasible with a single technology and a single wireless provider. That makes a MU always in need to connect to different types of technologies and service providers depending on his/her location and the target speed. However, there are some security concerns raised from the MU and foreign network (FN) perspectives as they cannot establish a connection without being authentic to each other. The traditional solution to such a problem is to have a roaming agreement between the home network (HN) and FN for verification process. Fig.1 illustrates the problem. Roaming agreement–free challenge. Problem Statement. A key challenge in such a heterogeneous networks environment is the possibility of roaming to administrative domains without a pre–established roaming agreement with a MU's home domain [3]. In other words, authenticating unknown users by FN providers and preventing unauthorised access are critical concerns. The rest of this paper is structured as follows. It starts with a review of existing approaches to the problem (Section 2). This will be followed by an overview of the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The intersection of the third sphere with the first two spheres then narrows the possible location of the receiver to two points. In order to locate the exact position of the receiver on earth, the system employs one of two methods. The first method is for the system to take a measurement to a fourth satellite, which is often done for other reasons described later. The alternate method is to mathematically throw out one of the answers, which can often be done since one point is located in space or is not otherwise plausible. The question that naturally follows is how a receiver is able to make a distance measurement from its position on earth to the satellites orbiting the earth. The basic physics theory used to determine distance is the speed of the signal multiplied by the time it took to travel from the satellite to the receiver. Since radio waves are used to communicate between the satellite and the receiver, the speed of the transmission is known to be the speed of light or 186,000 miles per second. However, the determination of time is trickier since the time traveled is short, usually on the order ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Anyway, today is like any other day. Another long day of roaming the airport. For as long as I can remember, I have lived inplane 247A, parked at gate 24C. About 15 years ago, there was a huge epidemic and everyone died except for those few humans I told you about. He demands to have access to patient information from both locations at any time. He wants to use his personal laptop to access the EHR and resources for both offices. Solution 1 Set Dr. Brooks up with a network account under each active directory domain: have him log in to whichever one he needs access to at the time. Although he may be physically working from MO1, he will likely still need to access resources from MO2 and vice versa. This solution would involve creation of trust relationships between domains in the MO forest. The administrator will create a transitive trust between MO1 and MO2.The MO1 where Dr.Brooks sits would be the parent domain and the MO2 will be the child domain in the MO active directory forest. The MO2 will automatically share resources with MO1 domain by default with authenticated users in both domains. Dr. Brook will thus be able to access resources from both MO1 and MO2 medical offices. This solution set up eradicates the hardware dependence as Dr.Brooks can log in from a different laptop or desktop in the network. Depending on the access controls assigned on him by the trusting domain he can access folders, files and virtual containers. Most U.S. communities require a licensure for all dogs starting at 4 to 6 months of age, but in my opinion it might be even more beneficial to require licensure as soon as a pup's eye are open, or when a dog first changes owners, establishing ownership at the earliest practical time. Also, an anti–abandonment program can be beneficial, if we focus on finding the owner rather than impounding the free–roaming pet. Such an approach would reduce the need for more animal shelters, and also will be a solution to the extensive expenses for impoundment and euthanasia. In this article the authors state that: "The right to keep a pet also put a responsibility to the owner to prevent his animal from harming or annoying people and degrading the environment. Clearly, many pet owners do not accept their responsibility." Also he points out that "Veterinarians and other health authorities who bear official responsibility for animal control rarely give adequate attention to free–roaming animals." Their population flourished so much that in the 19th century their numbers reached over 2 million. However, during World War I, more than 1 million were admitted for battle, which left the rest to be hunted for meat, abused for sport and collected as an ingredient in dog and cat food. When wild mustangs officially received protection through the Wild Free–Roaming Horses and Burros Act of 1971, it was estimated that only 17,000 wild mustangs were left on the American plains (1). Many studies have been done on the effects of wild mustangs on rangeland ecosystems. During the course of these studies, many benefits have been credited to the presence of wild mustangs, such as, an increase of native plant species, soil moisture retention, and the reduction of dry inflammable vegetation in fire prone areas (9). These benefits can be attributed to my previous statements about the wild mustang's unique digestive system, which also aids in the buildup of absorbent, "nutrient–rich humus" characteristics of healthy soil (13). It is understandable then, that if many native plant species are benefited by the mustangs, so too are all the animals that depend on these plant species. From other herbivores that also consume the plants to the predators that hunt the plant eaters and so on up the food chain. Wild mustangs have proven to be useful to the survival of other rangeland species. This can be seen during winter months when the mustangs instinctively break through heavily crusted snow where the grass cannot be seen, and use their hooves to open up frozen springs and ponds so that smaller animals are able to drink (13). The prosperity wild mustangs offer, has led to my belief that their benefits far outweigh their adverse effects ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 33. Animal Captivity Dilemma The Dilemma of Animal Captivity Animal captivity is an extremely important, and often overlooked problem that we, as human beings, have placed on nature and the animals that live in the endangered environment. There are groups of people worldwide who are extremely against animal captivity because of the drastic and permanent effects it leaves on the animals. These ideas of hatred against animal captivity are expressed in small ways such as posting a picture on Instagram that represents animal cruelty in captivity. Another way these ideas can be expressed is through large representations such as movies. Films such as Jurassic World and Blackfish are prime examples of this. Both of these films are representing the severe repercussions that can come from keeping large, dangerous animals in captivity. Though Jurassic World is a fictional movie, it is able to send the message that having animals that are dangerous in captivity is something that is very dangerous. Blackfish offers a real and terrifying glimpse into what happens to the mindset of animals who are put into captivity and the threat that those animals pose to not only other animals in captivity but also the humans who are in charge of looking after these animals. • 34. Executive Summary : Domestic Cats And Animals Executive Summary Domestic cats kill wildlife. Until we accept that fact, it is not possible to understand the reasons why it happens or to mitigate the problem. The second inescapable and unpleasant fact is that humans created this problem and are responsible for perpetuating it. The contemporary domestic cat (Felis catus), is not by any reasonable definition a natural component of the environment, but must be regarded as an exotic, introduced species in every natural system where it is permitted to freely roam. Domestic cats can be classified into four categories – indoor, indoor–outdoor, free–roaming, or feral – according to whether or not they are owned, how acclimated they are to human contact, and the amount of time they spend outside of human residences (Table I). Except for those that are strictly kept indoors, all cats prey upon wildlife. Therefore, any comprehensive remedy must consider all the sources of cats in the environment. The direct impact of domestic cats upon wildlife is a result of several factors. First, the sheer number of these introduced predators is enormous, and they can occur in densities far greater than many of the native species they prey upon. Second, like all domestic animals, cats have been bred to live in close association with people. This is true not only of owned animals, but also abandoned and stray cats that have become feral but still lurk at the edges of human habitations. Due to his unrequited love for his daughters, his actions can be considered reasonable, even though his delusion and irregular behavior consists of him rambling, refusing to apologize to his daughters, and roaming around England. In the novel, Lear began to show his madness by rambling. He discussed the sin of adultery and the illegitimacy of Edmund, the son of Gloucester. He also went onto say how women should not be given any type of authority. While his rambling is out of the ordinary, he says everything because he is hurt. He emphasized that not everyone who comes along should be granted the power to rule a kingdom. He talked about how anyone and everyone has the capability to abuse the power that is given to them.
