4 THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT YOUR BILL
1. Non-profit organizations (including schools) should
not be charged sales tax.
2. Commercial businesses get charged for electric
demand.
3. Utilities offer different rate schedules – be sure you
are on the schedule that is most beneficial.
4. Meters break, meters get changed, buildings are
bought and sold -- be sure that the meter numbers
on your utility bills match up with the meter
numbers at your building.

ASK STAFF AND STUDENTS TO:
1. Shut off lights every time you leave a room
2. Turn off computers, monitors, radios, smart
boards, TVs, etc.
3. Close shades or blinds at the end of each
day to help keep cold air out; open during the
day to let in light and heat
4. Keep vents clear to maintain air flow
5. Dress in layers
