1. FIRST DRAFT STORY BOARD
Scene 1:
Home video of young girls birthday
We see her holding the teddy (close-up)
Family gathered round and a cake is brought out as people sing to her
Scene 2:
Doorbell rings
Lit t le girl runs to the door too see who is there
As we pan over we witness a news clip of a suspected paedophile
being let out

(Pan over her feet running)
Scene 3:
We see the lit t le girls hand on the door as she opens it
Scene 4:
Birds eye shot of the girl walking out of the front of her house
We see someone has left her a gift on the porch
Scene 5:
Cut s t o close up of parent s (mums) face saying ‘are you okay Mary?’
Scene 6:
Cut s t o lit t le girls mout h saying ‘yes mummy’
Scene 7:
Cut s back to the whole family in the room and we hear the mum say
‘who was it darling?’
This is from the perspect ive of an onlooker through the window
After no reply the whole family turn and look at the door
Scene 8:
All we hear is lit t le girl say ‘Daddy’ over a black screen

2. Scene 9:
We see the faces of her family drop
Panic begins to build
Scene 10:
Camera pans down and ‘flows’ out of t he door
We see the gate swing/squeak
Pan carries on and we catch up with the girls feet running down the
pavement , with the teddy dragging behind her
Scene 11:
Cut s to wide shot of empty park
You can see the teddy swinging
You can here the noise of the swing
Scene 12:
Close of suit we hear a man inside say ‘I ’ve missed you’ in Russian
accent
