Grassroots: A Sims 3 EPIC Challenge,Chapter 5.1
1.
2. Eternity. Some would call it a blessing, others would call it a curse.
I have that now, along with my father Alfred who also has the
curse of eternity. At least I won’t be alone…
3. Vincent: FINALLY! I can fully enjoy my eternity. Now what do I have to do?
Find a wife probably but not just yet. I had a choice to make as the heir, I
could choose the path of Law and Order, or the path of Crime and
Chaos…well I chose the latter, Crime and Chaos. I will become the Emperor
of Evil and have as many kids as I want. Four sounds good.
4. Vincent: First thing I need to do is go see grandpa Li Sung, he can
teach me martial arts. I need to be able to hold my own in a fight
should the long arm of the law ever come gunning for me.
5. Vincent: He taught me many things, techniques and counters, I
wanted to learn to break boards with my bare fists but grandpa said
I needed to do this first, a weak mind makes for a weak body; if my
mind isn’t tuned, I’ll never be able to break a board.
6. Vincent: I’ll give the old man his props, he knows what he’s doing. I
wonder where he learned it? My great grandfather perhaps? I don’t
know I never really asked.
7. Vincent: We trained in the barn all day, I didn’t really get to make
use of my vampiric power with the sun out but I still did well enough
I think. I’m surprised Gramps could keep going all day, the man has
stamina for sure, I’d love to learn how he does it.
8. Vincent: When I punched a hole right through the oak training
dummy, Gramps said I was now ready for the boards. Sometimes I
don’t know my own strength, being a vampire really comes in
handy.
9. Vincent: After physical training with Gramps, it was time for some
mental training with dad. And it would give me the chance to ask
him how he deals with his eternity knowing mom won’t be there for
all of it with him.
10. Alfred: I knew that once I became one with the Fae that I’d eventually have
to face losing everyone I ever loved and knew. My parents were the first
ones, mom was a witch and dad never liked it. They fought a lot about it,
then when I was blessed with the Fae, it just put the final nail in the coffin
for our relationship. They had other kids to “replace” their disappointment
of a son, or at least I think they did.
11. Vincent: But they came here with us from Moonlight Falls. Why would they do
that if you think they were disappointed in you?
Alfred: I think it was my siblings who insisted, can’t think of any other reason
why my stubborn mule of a dad would move.
12. Vincent: My work in the Criminal underground brought me to Egypt where
I had to deliver a package to our affiliates in Morcucorp. I took the chance
to see the house grandma had bought when she was here last time and it
was huge. The Egyptian sun had me worried for a bit but I had recently
found something to make me immune to the sun’s deadly rays. True, now I
glow like a sparkler but at least I don’t die.
13. Vincent: I delivered the package and decided to do some tomb
raiding of my own while I had the time. After all, what good is a
criminal without his stash of loot?
14. Vincent: Grandma never finished this big ass pyramid and the
treasure she was supposed to get wasn’t found, so I would be the
one to find it instead. I might be tempted to keep it for myself…I
heard it’s solid gold.
15. Vincent: The stench of decay hit my vampire senses full force as soon as the
heavy stone door was lowered and I nearly vomited, but I knew that there
had been some unlucky few who had tried for this treasure and failed before,
as I can see them, or what’s left of them, on the floor by the door.
16. Vincent: So I found the treasure and more upstairs on a hidden level.
It was guarded by a mummy…well fine with me, bring it on Dusty. I
can take you. You’re slow and lumbering, I’m not.
17. Vincent: I’m taking that Rainbow Gem you pile of walking rags, and
you’re not going to stop me! I’ll burn you.
18. Vincent: The fight was back and forth a lot and I sorely
underestimated this dust bag, she got me with her ancient Egyptian
magic, I didn’t know they could do that so that caught me off
guard.
19. Vincent: This. Is. Embarrassing. No one saw this thankfully, the guys
would get on my case about being beaten by a 4000 year old pile of
rags…
20. Vincent: Anyway, I was determined not to let that happen again so
when I accepted a quest to de-trap this woman’s basement which
apparently was a hidden tomb of another Egyptian witch back in the
day, I didn’t expect to encounter another one. I wasn’t going to lose
again…
21. Vincent: She had a buddy! No one told me that! I won against both
of them though so I call this Round 2 my win. I still had one more
tomb to explore, the fabled Abu Simbel on the isolated shore of the
Nile. Grandma spoke of it once but she never found it, but I will.
22. Vincent: This tomb needed two keys to open the door, a space rock
and an ancient artifact, thankfully I had both and I opened the
door of Abu Simbel with ease. Now, why do they say this tomb is
so hard? Let’s go find out.
23. Vincent: More traps, now this makes sense why this tomb is so
difficult, I need to solve a light puzzle to open this door. Apparently
these ancient lamps still have fuel in them and I need to light them
all up in order for the door to unlock.
24. Vincent: I got in only to encounter MORE mummies! This one
attacked me maliciously, far worse than the other two. This dude was
a high priest so it made sense why he was so much stronger.
25. Vincent: Round 3 was also my win but Round 4 in this secondary tomb was
my downfall. I was given the Curse of the Mummy and had only 14 days to
live. And here I thought I’d have all of eternity to live and see everyone I
loved die…at least this is an option if I ever need to end it all…HOWEVER, I
am not going to give in THAT easily. I have a job to do after all. So I knew I
couldn’t die here.
26. Vincent: There was a cure for the Curse of the Mummy, I just had to
complete yet another trial to get it, the tomb of the Sphinx. At its
top there is a statue that will cleanse the curse from you and I
needed to get there. May as well use my vampiric speed.
27. Vincent: So Anubis, we finally meet. You have the cure for this curse
and I can see the magic in the air all around me. I even got a nice
Soul Peace heart for my trouble. But now I have to meditate in
prayer to the great god Anubis to cure me. I am not one for prayer
though, being the undead thing that I am.
28. The air is thick with
ancient magic and I can
see in my Mind’s Eye
the world that created
this effigy of the god
Anubis…it’s weird to feel
like I am really there,
soaring over the skies of
ancient Egypt as a
hawk, but I feel freer
than I have ever felt
before…
29. Vincent: Wow…it’s gone, the creeping darkness I felt from the curse,
this works after all. My Soul is truly at Peace, and that heart shaped
cut of the gem makes sense now why it’s here.
30. Vincent: But all good things must come to an end, and I have a legacy to
carry on back home. I only need one thing; a lover to fulfill that job. And I
have NO idea who I am going to pick, I just never thought about it
seriously until I nearly died here in this dusty, scorching desert country.
