2. I took the chance to book my next trip now that Vincent was old
enough. He could get a job and be a normal teenage boy now and
even I knew that teenage boys don’t need their mothers around as
much anymore, my little boy is growing up…
3. I chose Egypt this time, I had never been there and I’ve always
wanted to go. I could find some delicious pomegranates and cherries
there for my nectars and I HAD to get my hands on some.
4. Looking at the views on the plane, I couldn’t wait to see it in person.
The Nile looks like a ribbon of blue silk running through the sand
and greenery. I have to get a good photograph for Vincent.
5. Basecamp where I will be staying, looks interesting. I hope the
snakes don’t get inside the tents! Asps, very dangerous. They killed
Cleopatra after all.
6. My first adventure in Egypt was to retrieve some Flame Fruit, which
is also good for my nectar recipes. Don’t know why my contact
couldn’t get them herself but if it gives me visa stamps I’ll take the
challenge on instead of her.
7. I did not expect the heat in this place, shouldn’t things be cooler
underground? I’m glad I have extra strength deodorant on because
this is hard work, all for some fruit? Man…I should be totally buff
once I go home again.
8. No guts, no glory right? I’ll get that fruit then I’ll use the time I have
left here to find the other fruits for my nectar. Other things to do
while here in Egypt are to pick up some fishing books and recipes as
well as that special camera for pictures.
9. One quest for fruit, turned into another, that led to another, and
another and then finally led me to hacking a criminal organization’s
laptop?! I am no hacker but I did my best. It took me four long and
grueling days so I had little time left to do any of my own exploring.
10. I finally got to do my own exploring and found a lizard inside the
Great Sphinx. He was cute and I thought I’d take him home to
Vincent…but he escaped and I lost him. My time here was almost
done anyway.
11. Marie: So what was all that tomb crawling for anyway?
Local: Just business, nothing special, you did well. Morcucorp is
pleased. We will arrange to give you a level 3 visa for Egypt for all
your hard work.
12. Well there went my fifth day, my final day dawned and I was determined to
get my shopping done before I had to get on my flight back home. I did get
the level 3 visa that was promised and therefore I was now allowed to have a
vacation home here, I definitely bought one. My family will have a place to
come from now on.
13. The Three Kings; the most iconic pyramids here. Even in the dawn
hours the sun is already blazing hot. I could see the heat waves
rising off the hot sand in this picture.
14. The Great Sphinx; perched above the majestic blue Nile river
keeping an ever watchful eye over Egypt. I’ve heard there’s another
tomb hidden on one of the more isolated shores of the river, I didn’t
get the chance to see it when I was here.
15. And Al Simhara village; the place where everything happens. I
bought one of the mansions on the other side of the Nile, the
Pomegranate House. It has a beautiful public garden behind it and a
large pool. I’ve never had a pool before and I’m excited to try it out
next time I come here. But for now, I’m happy to be heading home.
16. Vincent: Mom is out seeing the world and I’m stuck here doing
this…I’m so bored. There has to be something to do in this one-horse
town.
17. Vincent: Then there’s the dreams, the dreams have to be the worst
of it all. I keep seeing this glowing bottle, I think I have to break it
open and what’s inside that bottle will be the price owed? I have no
idea what that means, it distracts me every night.
18. Vincent: I did find a pile of dinosaur bones that had been uncovered in a rock
slide, who would just leave a pile of bones like this out in open? Aren’t they
like valuable or something? We only came here to Appaloosa Plains because
mom wanted a change. I liked Moonlight Falls…I had friends there to do stuff
with.
19. Vincent: Why do I work in the graveyard then? It’s creepy and the
crypt has a zombie bear in it apparently. I’ve never seen it but I do
think I hear it sometimes. Or maybe it’s the wind, I don’t know but
at least working here is somewhat interesting.
20. Vincent: I raided dad’s alchemy cabinet before I left for work and as soon as I
opened it, I felt an energy. I was drawn to this bottle, a GLOWING bottle
which immediately made me recall that weird dream, this was that bottle. I
don’t know how long it was in there but I knew it was for me.
21. Vincent: The pink cloud that came out when I broke the bottle
surrounded my head, I started to choke and cough that was when I
realized this probably wasn’t the smartest thing to do but I felt like I
was being compelled to do it…
22. Vincent: After the cloud cleared I could hear and smell EVERYTHING
here, it nearly knocked me out. It was like all my senses were
suddenly cranked up to 11. I could hear the distant thudding of
hearts, hearts pumping blood…warm, delicious, satisfying blood…
23. The price has been paid for your life; you will forever live with one foot
in the Afterlife and one foot in the mortal plane.
Vincent: So this was what everyone was talking about when they thought I
wasn’t listening, this is the price for letting grandma Celia and grandpa Li
Sung have my mom…I have to be a vampire for the rest of eternity.
24. Vincent: Actually, this may not be so bad. Increased strength, increased
speed, hypnotic mind powers…yeah I could definitely use these abilities!
Course I have to watch out for the sun and drink people’s blood now…but I
guess that’s a small price to pay. I never liked the sun anyway.
25. Vincent: Now my question is, what to do first? Because I’m now
undead for eternity and will never die (unless someone stakes me)
and I’ll be stuck here like dad and grandma Celia, never aging,
seeing everyone and everything I love wither and die…wait, that
doesn’t sound so nice after all! What was I thinking doing this?!
