Romeo And Juliet Argumentative Essay
Romeo and Juliet Argumentative Essay Star crossed lovers: What does this phrase mean? Some would say fate bent over backwards to create this
pair, others say it does not exist. What could possibly be more complicated than this? Teenage love is in many ways comparable to this phrase. In
Romeo and Juliet, two nieve teenagers fight with their families, disown themselves, and eventually commit suicide over their ill–advised affections for
one another. No matter the time gap, teenagers will always make irrational and thoughtless decisions, whether it be in Romeo and Juliet or this day and
time. Despite the fact there is a cultural divide between Romeo and Juliet and the present, overall, This play is correspondent to the twenty first century

To get to Juliet in her time of "death", Romeo asks Balthasar to "Get me ink and paper and hire post horses," (Shakespeare 5.1 1130). Today, cars
are used to get around the roads, while Romeo has to ride a horse to reach Juliet. Furthermore, ink is a rare substance to purchase in stores
nowadays because of the simplicity of pens and pencils. In the twenty first century, we use technology and social media to communicate. Many
teenagers can not relate to riding a horse to deliver a message, where majority of teenagers have never written a letter! Although Culturally we have
evolved from horses to ink, Romeo and Juliet is relatable to the twenty first century teenager. Conflictuality between parents and their teenagers is
still pertinent in our society today. When Juliet refuses to marry Paris, her father says she can "hang, beg, starve, and die in the streets" (Shakespeare
3.5 1111) for all he cares. Capulet goes on to say he will disown his daughter if that is what it takes to persuade her. Just like in Romeo and Juliet,
many teenagers fight with their parents about their significant other. I had a friend who liked a boy that did horrible things, so her mother refused to let
her see this boy. They dated in secret, and this friend got hurt in the process, and lost her mother's trust when she found out. Parent conflict is something
many teenagers in the twenty first century can relate to in Romeo and

Comparison Of Romeo And Juliet's Behavior
Romeo and Juliet were teenagers when they fell in love, and their age may prove some motives behind the foolish decisions that were made. Since
Romeo and Juliet's brains were still developing as a teenager and forming some important parts critical to make smart decisions, it would essentially
explain the poor quality of the teens behavior and why they struggled to make unsuitable resolutions for the both of them as a couple. They made such
unsuitable decisions is because they are both too young and have yet to wait for the prefrontal cortex to develop in order to make the right decisions,
not only for themselves, but the people surrounding them too. Unfortunately, the current development of the teenage brain can, however affect the
decisions... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Even though Romeo and Juliet may seem ancient or incomprehensible to young readers, it can definitely be related to modern day situations and
teach a big lesson while teenagers are still young and can be taught from past mistakes. Many teenagers like, "Zakia and Ali"(Rafia Zakaria The
Lovers: Afghanistan's Romeo and Juliet) have experienced situations that can relate to the play, Romeo and Juliet. Zakia and Ali fell in love with
each other as teenagers and ran away from their home to escape the horrible rules, customs, and consequences enforced if disobeyed, just like how
Juliet ran away from her strict father who was going to make her marry Paris so she could be with Romeo. Even though Lord Capulet was treating
Juliet unfairly, he should've taught Juliet in the beginning that "[t]oo soon marred are those so early made"(Shakespeare I:ii14), which means that you
shouldn't rush love and therefore Ali and Zakia are also at fault for not listening to their parents as well. Even though their parenting was very strict
and harsh, it still gets across the point that despite what they are told, teengaers still make irratic choices due to the ongoing development of the brain.
Of course it would be the right thing for Zakia's and Ali's parents to support the relationship of their kids, but at the same time need to enforce rules

Texting And Teen Suicides
Teen's suicides the rates are doubling and families of teenagers that committed suicide and up heartbroken. "Suicide is the third leading cause of
death among teenagers, according to the Florida Suicide Prevention Coalition, a grassroots group of advocates formed in 2002( Diaz, Hussain,
and Lade para 13)." During the 2000's, teenagers have to the ability to access a more improve internet and phones, to cause use for their own good
and wicked ways. Social media gives teenagers a new way to hurt and embarrassed each other quickly. As technology get more advance,
smartphones have the ability to carry social media apps, additionally a faster delivery system with texting; which causes teenagers get bullied without
getting on their computers. The internet and access to phones has negatively affected on teenager suicide rates because of cyberbullying, deadly
challenges on social media, and teens harassing each other through texting. As the internet becomes more popular, teenagers has a new way to bully
through the web; called cyberbullying. Teenagers are super rude to one another and that they are not just doing the bullying at school; but now they
are using good tool like the internet to serious harm to each other. The victims just cannot go home and feel safe and be themselves. Also be like a
normal teenager and going online without having bullies there too. The bullies online are worse, since sometimes the victims do not know who the
bullies are and everyone's sees it. The golden saying that "what goes on the internet stays forever, even after you deleted it". Some people are skilled
enough to find the words or pictures again. Laura Smith–Spark, a national editor for CNN and her article "Hanna Smith suicide fuels calls for action on
Ask.fm cyberbullying" shows that cyberbullying not just on social media. Hannah Smith from Lutterworth, Leicestershire committed suicide using the
website Ask.fm. Smith went to Ask.fm for "Advice on the skin condition eczema" (Spark para. 2). She was getting hate speech from this person on
their and death treats too. Hanna Smith sister Jo is getting the abuse now from the "trolls". Also there were nasty comments on Hanna Smith's

Distribution of Condoms in Schools
The topic of distributing condoms in high schools had caused a great deal of
debate over the last decade. Those that favor condom distribution say that distributing
them will ensure teenagers practice safe sex, and the rate of teenage pregnancy will
decline dramatically. Those that are against distributing condoms, say that giving them
out will encourage early sexual activity and promote the idea that premarital sex is okay.
What about letting parents help kids make decisions about their futures? After all that is
how parents have been doing things for ages and ages right? There are parents who have
actually gone to the Federal Court System, and stated that distribution of condoms and

His
article discusses opinions of young woman about intercourse, motherhood, and self–
esteem. The title of this article is "Learning to Say No", and informs the reader right
from the start about the struggles of teenagers to say no to sexual intercourse. He goes on
to explain that the answer to this national problem is not to give out condoms at the
school nurses station but to teach teenage girls how to refuse sex. Leo states that their
partners often pressure them into sex. The problem is obviously not a shortage of latex
but a shortage of training, low self–esteem, and lack of social support for abstinence in
the anything goes society.
Leo is correct when he states that girls are struggling to say no in our society.
Those that are able to say no contribute it to a strong support of family and friends.
Especially if a girl lacks that support and love, they will be more likely to seek approval
from a partner. It is not a simple matter of "raging hormones", but a sense of holding
onto a symbol of love and support at that moment. That is why we need more programs
that support teaching concepts like self–esteem and self–assertiveness, may be more
beneficial than waving a flag for free condoms in their faces. The fact that schools
distribute condoms tells us that the attitude of the schools is changing towards teenage
sex. It is almost a silent message to them saying "I know you are

Romeo And Juliet: Can Teenagers Love?
Can teenagers love??
Being teens, it can be easy to confuse love with lust and desire. Lusting is a great need to have sex with a certain person. And desire is almost like
lust, but desire is not just with sex, desire can be targeted at either a person, or even an object. The wanting of a person is most common though, like
in Romeo and Juliet, where Romeo lusts after Juliet after seeing her at a party. And in fact, we can even connect a saying into this, we all know the
saying "Love at first sight," but that may not truly exist. It could, and probably should be known as "lust at first sight," but not love. I don't think you
can walk into a building see someone and immediately fall in love with them, at least I hope not you'd be known as a Romeo. ... Show more content on

Romeo is depicted as a classic sex wanting teenager. While Juliet is new to the world of men from being locked in her room most of her life by
her father to avoid losing her "purity." And before Romeo met Juliet, he was after a different girl named Rosaline, who took a vow of chastity and
didn't want to have sex Romeo. And Romeo thinks he's in love with Rosaline, giving a long harangue on his "love" then quickly mentioning her
chastity and that he won't have sex. And look how quickly he falls in "love" Juliet after just glancing her at a party then walking over and kissing her
twice. "Thus from my lips, by thing, my sin is purged" *kisses her twice* And quickly after that they're secretly married and when they finally have
sex, Romeo tries to secretly forsake as if it's a one night stand. And maybe he loves her at the end, choosing to kill himself rather than live without

Rebellion Research Papers
Teenagers spend their adolescent years riding a rollercoaster of experience and emotions, such as love, rebellion, and consequences, which
ultimately shape their identity and who they become later in life. Many teenagers are shaped by their experiences with "love" or crushes that
impact who they become later in life.In the article from Phychology Today, Dr. Carl Pickardt explains that "Teenage crushes have a significant
role to play in the journey of adolesence.".He is suggesting that crushes are the begining of a teenagers ability to love as he says in the quote
"After all, it is an early approximation of love.".An example of this is in real life, if a person never learns to love then they wont understand what
love is or how love feels,so they wont be able to love. Love is a key role in the development of adolescents,so it is important to allow crushes.
Additionally, many teenagers today are shaped by diffrent periods of rebellion. In another article by Phychology Today, Dr. Carl Pickardt suggest that
"that rebellion tends to have diffrent roles in a young person's growth...". What he means is that rebellion can change the teenagers personality and can
have diffrent influences on everybody. For instance in Nerve the main character rebels against what all her friends think of her and the... Show more

In the article about Rebellion Dr. Pickaedt mentions that "they must let the conquences of the young person's resistant choices play out and not
interfere.".Ultimately this means that parents need to allow their teens to suffer the conquences of their bad decisions or choices. Take the case of
Romeo and Juliet. Romeo and Juilet were doomed from the begining because of their famlies fued, the fact that they snuck around and got married
without their parents concent. This just proves that love and rebellion can lead to a doomed

Why Is Romeo And Juliet Still Relevant Today
A very frequently asked question in our society is how a play from hundreds of years ago can mean anything to the teenagers of today. Its true that
two teenagers fall in love, marry, and kill themselves in a matter of days, which our society might think is hardly a serious piece of literature. But in
terms of a scholarly approach Romeo and Juliet is a perfect example of why we should study Shakespeare today and why we continue to read his
work. This story is exactly what relates the past to our today's modern society. Romeo and Juliet is relevant in today's society because today's kids do
not have strong bonds with their parents, many teenage couples fall in love against their parents wishes ,and many teenagers rush to make decisions
and make mistakes... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For most of the play, it is the Nurse whom Juliet communicates or discloses with, which shows that Juliet was suffering from a lack of
communication with her parents, which is really relevant in today's society. Parents nowadays don't try to be the greatest parents, which means that
the parents don't spend a lot of time with their children and most of the time they let their child be handled by their maids. Parents form a very
distant relationship between their kids when they don't give as much time to their kids and the maids on the other hand tend to form a stronger
bond. The teenagers in Romeo & Juliet are very similar to teenagers today. Every teenager has fallen in love and has done something foolish for it.
They rebel against their parents wishes and try to seek out of what their parents have set out for them, just like what Juliet did. She didn't want to
marry Paris so she designed an escape plan with the Friar which showed that the love that Romeo and Juliet shared was so powerful that they were
willing to die and disobey their family for

Teenage Love In Shakespeare's Romeo And Juliet
Romeo and Juliet is easily the most famous Shakespearian play ever written, but what is it that makes it so popular? The whole performance is
centered on two teenagers that claim to be so in love that they would take their own lives. This really makes the audience think about teenagers and
what their love is worth. It is more likely than not that a teenage relationship will end at some point. There are a number of things wrong with how
minors grasp and initiate love, and a lot of it has to do with their ability to act and make good decisions. When looking at the differences between
adult and teenage relationships, it is evident that teenage love is usually not as "real" as adult love. Teenagers are still developing and learning through
experiences, and often they rush feelings. In Romeo and Juliet, Romeo swore that he was completely infatuated by a girl named Rosaline. In just a
minute of talking to a different girl, he ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If choosing between following the head or the heart, they consequently lean more towards the heart. This is true simply because hearts cannot
think. If relying solely on the heart, people can get too caught up in a "love rush" that can cause too much to happen too fast and regretful
behavior. When Romeo and Juliet first met each other, they had not even gotten to know each other before deciding they were in love with each
other. This goes to show they really were not using their brains. This obviously does not change by the end of the play because they both end up
dead at their own cost. Considering the whole play covers about three days, it could have been possible that Romeo and Juliet decided they did not
really like each other a few days later. If they had used their head to make all their decisions, they could have been more cautious and all the tragedy
could have been

To What Extent Are Romeo And Juliet Still Relevant Today
Romeo and Juliet, one of the greatest pieces of literature of all time, written by William Shakespeare, conveys messages that are timeless and still
relevant today. The play is an example of why one could agree that teenagers do not understand what true love really is. Shakespeare depicts Romeo
being driven by lust and desire over women rather than the true motivation of actually getting to know and spend time with another woman. In fact,
Romeo treats love for granted and seems to look for women just out of pleasure and thus does not understand what true love actually is.
To start off, Romeo is completely devastated over a young woman who he admires, named Rosaline, but has discovered that Rosaline sworn not to love
another man. Romeo talks ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Romeo, unwilling to move on from Rosaline, responds to Benvolio, questioning "One fairer than my love? The all–seeing sun / Ne'er saw her match
since first the world begun" (1.3.99–100). Romeo does not understand what love really is because of his deceitful devotion to a woman who he
admires out of beauty rather than personality. Romeo realizes that Rosaline would be attending the Capulet party, so he is willing to risk getting
caught as a Montague just to see Rosaline. The scene at the party shows why Romeo's love is nothing but fake. Romeo ends up forgetting about
Rosaline during the party when dancing with a girl named Juliet. Romeo's love for Juliet should be no different from his love for Rosaline since
Romeo had instantly fell in love with Juliet as he did with Rosaline. Romeo arrives to talk to Juliet in the balcony scene after the party, and Juliet
tells Romeo "My only love sprung from my only hate!...Prodigious birth of love it is to me / That I must love a loathed enemy" (1.5.155). Juliet is
aware that Romeo, is the son of Montague, whose family are in a feud with the Capulets, which is Juliet's parents. This meant that that the Montagues
and Capulets would be devastated if they found out the love affair between Romeo and Juliet,

Rash Decisions In The Tragedy Of Romeo And Juliet
"With Rosaline, my ghostly Father? No. I have forgot that name and that name's woe."(Shakespeare Act 2 Scene 3). Adolescents are not physically and
mentally prepared for true love. Love requires commitment and sacrifice which most teenagers cannot or just simply decide to not give. Teenagers are
not mature or sensitive enough to feel and experience true love. Combined with the developing teenage brain it makes even more difficult because
teens tend to make rash decisions.
The period of adolescence has proven to be a period of rapid brain development, impulsivity and rash behavior. According to the article, "The Teenage
Brain," by Amanda Leigh Mascarelli, the ventral striatum, in charge of the reward system in the brain, "...seems to be 'shouting ... Show more content

In William Shakespeare's play, The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet, Romeo is frequently enamored with young women based upon their looks. Upon
first seeing Juliet at the Capulet's party, Romeo mutters to himself, "Did my heart love till now? Forswear it, sight!/ For I ne'er saw true beauty till this
night" (Shakespeare I.V. 50–51). Though Romeo has been pining for Rosaline whom his friends and confidants seem to be aware of, upon first
glance to Juliet he cries out that he had never seen true beauty until he saw her. This comment is what leads to Romeo's conversation and
profession of love to Juliet. He does not know her, has never spoken to her, and at this point does not even know that she is Lord Capulet's only
daughter. Yet, based upon her looks, he can express love and quickly forget about the woman whom he has fantasized about being with and was
depressed over her lack of reciprocity of his love. This sudden change of heart and confession of love based upon outward beauty shows that teenagers
such as Romeo are not capable of true love, but rather lust and physical attraction. Also in the play, Juliet shows her traitorous behavior towards her
family and Tybalt, "Shall I speak ill of him that is my husband?/Ah, poor my lord, what tongue shall smooth thy name,/When I, thy three hours' wife,
have mangled it?" (Shakespeare III.ii.99–101). Juliet is showing mercy toward Romeo even after he killed her cousin. She forgot her cousin whom
she has known for many years for a person she has known for less than a day. That is a major problem in many teens that they tend to make rash
decisions, that turn out to be harmful for them mostly because in the time period before adulthood

Romeo And Juliet Conflict
Have you ever fallen in love with someone because you thought the person looked attractive? Have you ever put your trust in someone, until you
found him or her to be disloyal?
Shakespeare's classic play Romeo and Juliet demonstrates, in some instances like the above, what not to do, even in today's world. The Bible, the
flawless manual for life's problems, supports these arguments. Examples of problems similar to those that teenagers face today, such as love based on
looks, conditional love, and broken trust, are given in Romeo and Juliet. The first problem exemplified in Romeo and Juliet is love based on looks.
Romeo met
Juliet during a party held at the Capulets' house, and he fell in love with her and kissed her. They spoke for a small time then, and again for a little
longer time the same night, outside Juliet's bedroom. The next morning, Romeo went to Friar Lawrence and said,
Then plainly know my heart's dear love is set
On the fair daughter of rich Capulet;
As mine on hers, so hers is set on mine,
And all combined, save what thou must combine
By holy marriage.... but this I pray,
That thou consent to marry us today.
(2.3.57–61, 63–64)
Flynn 2
Romeo and Juliet knew each other for less than twenty–four hours, and they wanted to be married the next day. Clearly, they did not give themselves
enough time to truly know each other's character qualities. They fell in love with each other because of looks alone. Teenagers today may desire to
rush into love with someone else

Romeo And Juliet : A Story Of Love Or The Poorly...
Romeo and Juliet– A Story of Love or the Poorly Functioning Biological Properties of the Teenage Brain? Since it was written, Romeo and Juliet has
been regarded as the arguably most famous love story of all time. Two star–crossed teen lovers are so drowned in their own world that they commit
suicide in the hope of eternally being with each other in the afterlife. In reality, were the characters' actions truly drawn from a sense of fervent love, or
rather from hormonal triggers acting in unfavorable ways deep within the teenage brain? In a modern analogy, are teenagers' brains functioning on the
basis of specialized thought processes, or because of biological shortcomings? In reality, rash decisions made by teenagers mostly correlate with
hormonal judgement because of skewed neurological development, although environmental influences can aggravate a teen's emotions. Firstly, it is
important to define what hormonal judgement is. Essentially, chemicals in the body produced during the time of puberty are making a teen think
differently than their previous, younger self. Since the amount of hormones that are given to a teen are in an "adult dosage" to speed up the pace of
maturation, teens are capable of completing mature tasks. The problem arises when the physical capability to behave maturely, without a brain to
control actions properly, malfunctions in a way that often leads to situations that endanger a teen's life. Fortunately, simply living is enough to gain the

Romeo And Juliet Essay Love
In the play Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare, young love takes an unfortunate turn. Romeo Montague and Juliet Capulet are from rival
families and are meant to hate each other. But one night at a party, they see each other from across the room and fall madly in love. In the time span
of a week, they get married that ends in them taking their own lives. In this story, I feel like Shakespeare is trying to say that young love can be
self–destructive but not to the point of killing themselves. Romeo and Juliet are the exception. Romeo and Juliet is a play created to show
Shakespeare's idea of the highest form of love. This play is meant to show what real love is and drastic measures one would take to maintain said
love. Shakespeare seems to believe that love is meant to be the ultimate emotion. Love is the emotion which one would risk their well being to
possess. Shakespeare captures that feeling in the final scene of the play when Romeo and Juliet both end their own lives because they believe that
they will never feel love that is that powerful again. The "suicide impulse" the play shows does not relate to the play's theme of the highest form of
love. But it does show a different theme; young love. Not saying young as their age, but young in the sense that these two ... Show more content on

desire. These three words have completely different meanings and all show the difference between Romeo and Juliet's relationship and the
relationships between teenagers today. I feel like the meaning of love today is much different than the meaning of love was back Shakespeare's

What Is The Difference Between Romeo And Juliet
"How can your love be these dangerous things, and not bring me down, instead, giving me wings." –Tony Watson. Most people (especially teenagers)
think that love is the most powerful thing on earth, and it is true; but what they don't see, is that teens tend to have different way of thinking and point
of view of life, which means that their definition of "normal" is way different from the adults definition, therefore, they tend to do things that adult
people usually call "dumb" or even dangerous. Love is a new thing for teenagers, and a lot of times, since they cannot recognize it, sometimes they
get tricked by pretty words and faces and then "fall in love"; what they can't see, is that they might be doing the worse mistake of their lives.... Show

The reason is simple: We see it through a screen/paper so we have a third point of view, this means that we can only see it clearly if WE live it.
Modern teenagers don't mostly do it that way, instead of killing themselves, they do worse thing at the eyes of society; instead of doing things that
affect them physically, they do things that hurt them mentally; action like embarrassing themselves publicly; sending the famous "nude" pictures, have
become pretty usual these days, and it's very easy for someone to "ruin" your whole life with them. In Romeo And Juliet, it is very clear that the
author wanted us to notice this point; in the play, we can easily notice this when Romeo finds out that Juliet was "dead", and he goes, buys and drinks
the poison that kills him. "Research has found that peer pressure activates certain brain signals that are linked to the powerful drug–like interplay of risk
and reward. And a captive audience is the quickest way to bolster the brain's reward system." (Firger, 2014). This can explain some of the reasons of
why he did it. So when it comes to explain, why do all these actions happen? The answer is very simple; they do not know how to deal with their
emotions; so, instead of thinking how to deal with them, they just do stupid things, trying to get all the attention and hoping that someone is going to
ever know what they are going through and help

Why Puppy Love Matters For Parents By Sue Shellenbarger
Today, it is not barely to see that girls and boys from middle schools or from high schools holding their hands in public; and it is also very common that
a teenager says "love" to a boy or a girl through any ways, either face to face or via social media. As the readers, think about when your first love
started. It can start as early as in middle schools. According to "Why Puppy Love Matters For Parents" written by Sue Shellenbarger in 2009, "The
romantic ties kids form between middle school and college are important markers of progress toward adulthood." (para. 3)In this significant process,
teenagers' characteristics, self–esteem, independence and the ways of dealing with others can be shaped differently according to their personal

Teens' relationship is an important period to develop this kind of skills, with the help of parents or teachers. As we know, some children are very shy
to talk with others, especially with strangers or opposite–sex children. Many researchers suggest that boys and girls have different communication ways
and distinct ways to get on with friends. This is why boys and girls feel embarrassed when talk to each other. Just like Deborah Tannen says in her
article "How Male And Female Students Use Language Differently," "A girl has a best friend with whom she sits and talks, frequently telling
secrets...boys are expected to use language to seize center stage by exhibiting their skills...and knowledge."(para.3) Thus, sometime, these teenagers are
just do not know how to start proper conversations with opposite–sex teenagers. Teen romance relationship just solves this problem. If a boy adores a
girl, he would like to try his best to talk with that girl. And if that girl also speak to him, the boy would feel confident and he will not feel that much
awkward when he talk to girls next time. But if the girl does not respond to that boy, his conversation way might be not very proper. However, this is
still a nice try. Everybody has his or her first times. During, this slow process, teens can gradually figure out some strategies of getting on with other,

Age Limit Between Romeo And Juliet
Does love have an age restriction? If so, what is the age that we can actually love? Romeo and Juliet isn't not the normal for most teenage

Love is a feeling, with no age restrictions. 61% of teens have felt that they have been in love before. For example, there was a clear age limit between
Romeo and Juliet, but they ended up falling in love. Anyone can feel something for anyone at any age. Also, many parents approve of their kids current

A portion of the teenagers' brains called the nucleus accumbens is usually developed early on, and this section is responsible for seeking pleasure
and reward. According to Molly Edmonds, a representative from Teenage Brain Development, discussed that, "In imaging studies that compared
brain activity when a subject received a small, medium or large award, teenagers exhibited exaggerated responses to medium and large rewards
compared to children and adults" (Document H). As illustrated in this quote, due to the less developed brain regions of teenagers, they are more
likely to submit to their impulses, rather than curb any appeal to do so. This results in them weighing more value to the relationship, compared to the
origin and emotions within it. In the article "Beautiful Brains", a development psychologist named Laurence Steinberg performed a test, and the
results concluded that, " They (teenagers) didn't take more chances because they suddenly downgraded the risk. They did so because it gave more
weight to the payoff" (Document D). This quote exemplifies that teenagers are less concerned about the risks involved in their actions, and rather
linger on the outcome which they will eventually receive. In a recent study by Beatriz Luna, a professor of psychiatry, it was declared that,"This (use
of more brain regions) lets the adults use a variety of brain resources and better resist temptation, while the teens used those areas less often and more
readily gave in to the impulse to look at the flickering light– just as they're more likely to look away from the road to read a text message" (Document

How Did Romeo And Juliet Change
Did you know that a girl knows when a guy is looking at her in a lustful way? Girls feel hurt when a guy only looks at her physical appearance
rather than appreciating her as a person. Don't be that guy that looks at her shape because what about her eyes! They could be blue like the ocean but
you wouldn't know because you weren't looking in the right spot. "Any person can tell you they can feel the difference from when someone looks at
them with love or with lust" (Hostetter). Because teenagers don't know if it is love or lust, it is easy for them to become obsessed with a person.
Today, love has changed a lot from in the past but teenagers becoming obsessed with another person hasn't changed as much as we think. Teenagers

As soon as Romeo and Juliet see each other, they become obsessed with each other and can't keep their eyes off of each other. Romeo and Juliet
both wanted to get married on the same day they met each other. They hadn't even exchanged 100 words yet. In "Romeo and Juliet," Romeo stated
"O, speak again, bright angel! For thou art/ As glorious to this night, being o'er my head,/ As is a wingГЁd messenger of heaven/ Unto the white,
upturnГЁd, wondering eyes/ Of mortals that fall back to gaze on him/ When he bestrides the lazy–puffing clouds/ And sails upon the bosom of the air"
(II. ii. 26–32). This proves that Romeo is truly in love and obsessed with Juliet because he can't stop describing her. Romeo is describing the
experience of looking at Juliet to us. He is telling us how much he is obsessed with Juliet. In another quote from "Romeo and Juliet," Romeo also
stated "With love's light wings did I o'erperch these walls,/ For stony limits cannot hold love out,/ And what love can do, that dares love attempt.
/ Therefore thy kinsmen are no stop to me" (II. ii. 66–69). This also shows how Romeo is obsessed with Juliet because not even the stone walls can
keep his love and obsession for Juliet out. If Romeo wasn't so obsessed and in love with Juliet, then he wouldn't have been able to fly over the walls to

Teenage Brains In Shakespeare's Romeo And Juliet
In today's world, you constantly hear teenagers claiming they are in love. This has brought concern to doctors and scientists to see if teenagers are
fully capable to understand the meaning of love. William Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet is a wonderful example of two teens who believe they are
in love. This story is about two families, the Montagues and Capulets, who have an ancient feud. Once the two teenagers of these families "fall in love",
they begin to sneak around, keep secrets, lie, and do much more. This story is highly influential as it gives us perspective from the adolescent's minds.
I do not believe that teenagers can yet perceive the concept of love.
Teenager's brains are impetuous and impulsive. In the article Teenage Brains... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the passage Love and Romance, they list the factors of a good relationship that involves closeness. These ideas such as "learning to give and
receive", "revealing feelings", and "listening and supporting" are not seen in Romeo and Juliet. For example, when Romeo and Juliet meet on their
wedding night, they do not sit in bed and discuss how they are feeling due to the banishment. Instead, they have sexual intercourse because afterward
Juliet feels accomplished that she has gotten her dream wedding night. This relates back to my claim and the passage because Romeo and Juliet do
not have the proper requirements to be in a loving relationship. Romeo may put Juliet first, by risking to stay in the city for their wedding night, but
Juliet puts her wants first before Romeo's safety, which proves they are not equals. Their connection is merely based off the adrenaline rush they get
from being with each other and the sexual frustration they have pent up since their first meeting. Keeping this in mind, studies have shown that many
teenagers have such impulses and sexual frustrations because of how adolescent minds develop. According to The Teen Brain: Still Under
Construction, published by the National Institute of Mental Health, "reproductive hormones shape (...) sex related hormones and behavior". These
behaviors include the urge to try new sexual things with others and explore the physical and emotional experiences that are new to them. Therefore,
what Romeo and Juliet are feeling is not "true love" for each other, yet is the sexual and physical attraction that is new for them, and many teenagers in
today's era are feeling the same

Peer Pressure
We often hear about the dangers of peer pressure to teenagers. Teenagers take drugs, skip school, get drunk, or have sex because their friends do these
things. However, there is another–perhaps equally bad–effect of peer pressure. Desperate to conform to their friends' values, teens may give up their
interests in school, in hobbies, and even in certain people.
Teenagers may, first of all, lose or hide their interest... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Finally, teenagers sometimes give up the people they love in order to be accepted. If necessary, they sacrifice the old friend who no longer dresses
well enough, listens to the right kind of music, or refuses to drink or take drugs. Potential boyfriends and girlfriends may be rejected, too, if the
crowd doesn't like their looks or values. Sadly, teenagers can even cut their families out of their lives. They may be ashamed of the parents who are
too poor, too conventional, too different from friends' parents. Even if the teens are not completely ashamed of their parents, they may still refuse to
participate in family get–togethers or spend time with younger brothers or sisters.
It is true that many teenagers face the pressures of being forced to take drugs, to perform dangerous stunts, to do risky things. But a more common
and perhaps more painful pressure is to conform to the crowd by giving up part of oneself. Attachments to learning, to special interests, and to special
people are often thrown away just to "be one of the guys."

Perspectives on Love in Reality Parenting Shows
Many parenting programs have been made in recent years such as the Supernanny and Brat Camp which were first aired in 2004 and 2005 respectively.
Both were originated from United Kingdom. So, this kind of show is no longer new to the viewers. All the mentioned parenting shows earlier including
the World's Strictest Parents mainly focuses on the teenagers behavioral problems. (See openhousecommunity.com.au)
The World's Strictest Parents was interesting because it was truly an account of the families' life. The teenager's outright rebellion against their strict
foster parents increases the tension, excitement and drama of the show. Even so, the host families in the program show a genuine concern towards the

This proves that tough love cannot change all the troubled teenagers in just a span of seven days.
Third, authoritarian is the best method among the parenting styles to rear a child. Recall that parenting style is the strategies of the parents use to bring
up a child. According to Diana Baumrind, clinical psychologist, there are four types of parenting styles namely: authoritative, permissive, authoritarian
and uninvolved. Moreover, these parenting styles, according to studies, produce various outcomes to the children (See psychology.about.com). Table 1,
presents the characteristics of each parenting styles while Table 2, shows the comparison of the positive and negative effects it created towards the
children.
On the other hand, parenting styles greatly varies across all nations in many important ways because of factors that affecting it such as culture, religion,
socioeconomic status, education, personality and their own upbringing (See psychology.about.com). Among these factors, culture plays the most vital
role in parenting styles. For instance, "Chinese culture is greatly influenced by Confucian philosophy which emphasizes respect for authority, devotion
to parents, emotional restraint, and the importance of education. Chinese parents are not necessarily driven to control their children; instead, they are
expected to teach their children how to maintain harmony with others. That is

Marriage Is Not Only For The Adults Essay
Marriage is when two adults come together in love and have the love link them together as one. It means they live together and share the rest of their
lives together after a marital engagement. Today marriage is not only for the adults, but the young teenagers have taken it up. It could be a drive from
young love. It mostly occurs during adolescence when most teenagers start to discover themselves emotionally and sexually. The strength that comes
with this young love turns some to believe they can venture into marriage. Some parents are quick to guide them on this issue. Inasmuch, as there is a
great effort in guidance and counseling some teenagers still insist their way into teenage marriage. Could it be that the society is practicing poor
upbringing techniques for the young people? Adolescent growth needs a lot of guidance and counseling. Some support this while others feel that they
should be left to grow naturally and not be restricted to act like adults.
For instance in Epstein's study. The author makes a case that society's attempt to treat a teenager as a child is limiting their ability to become an adult.
He argues that part of the reason that young adults now struggle with growing up and assuming responsibility is because adults insist on infantilizing
teenagers. His belief is that teens do and show tiny of what they are capable of because instead of learning to be responsible adults during adolescence,
they continue playing as if they were still young children.

Tomorrow When The War Began By John Marsden
Teenagers in today's society are faced with many issues and new experiences as they mature and develop in mentality and physicality. Although
threatened with war and destruction, the adolescents in the story 'Tomorrow, When the War Began' by John Marsden are confronted with equivalent
problems as they encounter the struggles of growing into young men and women. Not unlike adolescents in ordinary society, Ellie, Homer, Lee, Robin,

Romantic feelings and sexual attraction to others is a natural part of growing up. In the lives of teenagers within today's society, these new feelings
can be both exciting and confusing. In the story, 'Tomorrow, When the War Began', this transition is illustrated to us by Ellie; "At that age (primary
school) you think boys have as much personality as coat hangers, and you don't notice their looks. Then you grow up." When adolescents
experience romantic attraction for the first time, it can be difficult to distinguish the difference between the intense feelings of physical attraction
and the emotional intimacy of genuine love. In 'Tomorrow, When the War Began' a romantic relationship is developed between Ellie and Lee.
During chapter sixteen, Ellie describes the experience of kissing Lee; "I explored not just his lips, but his smell, the feeling of his skin, the shape of
his shoulder blades, the warmth of the back of his neck." From this passage, it is evident that Ellie's 'love' for Lee is based purely upon physical
attraction. Alike Ellie, many teenagers in today's society mistake these feelings of desire for love and emotional

making skills is the last to develop meaning teens have a reason to naturally lack in making decisions. "That's because the nerve cells that connect
teenagers' frontal lobes with the rest of their brains are sluggish. Teenagers don't have as much of the fatty coating called myelin, or "white matter"

The Pressure Of A Single Story
The Pressure of a Single Story in "The Love of My Life," by Boyle. As expressed by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie in her Ted Talk "The Danger of a
Single Story," stereotypes are so ingrained in today's societies that it is hard for humanity to see people as individuals that act under different
circumstances. Adichie explains the danger of only telling a single story, story that often becomes a generalization that affects a specific group of
people by attributing them different types of behaviors and qualities, and by limiting them to those expectations. The story "The Love of My Life,"
written by Coraghessan Boyle and based on a true story, reflects on the stereotypes and assumptions that society has built around teenagers, sex, and

As we saw on the story, the biggest motives that drove China and Jeremy to the decision of getting rid of the baby were highly related to the
pressure these facts put on them. We can see how China expressed her fear of being judge "I don't want anyone to know" (Boyle 559), she was so
concerned about letting other people know, that she forgot to think of another reasonable method like adoption. Boyle's write how China expressed
her concerns with having to bring the baby with her to public places like school "I will never, never be like those breeders that bring their puffed–up
squalling little red–faced babies to class," we can see how for her this fact almost sounded as insulting, and she, in fact, was just seeing the situation
as most of the people would normally see it. For her having the baby would have implied walking with the proof that she did something that in our
society is considered moral incorrect. Later on, we see how Jeremy had the same view on the pregnancy "What are you thinking? Nobody'll know.
He's a doctor, for Christ's sake, sworn to secrecy, the doctor–patient compact and all that. What are you going to do, keep it? Just show up to English
101 with a baby in your lap and say, 'Hi, I'm the Virgin Mary'?" (Boyle 559), it is obvious how scared they were of being judged by the outsiders,
not even a minute they thought of what they would have wanted because in those circumstances it was not an easy option. The saying that "if you
have a child at a young age would run your life" is reflected on Boyle's story when he narrates that Jeremy is unable to continue with his normal life
"He couldn't have a life. Couldn't be a freshman. Couldn't wake up in the morning and tumble into the slow steady of the world." (Boyle 559), here

Love In Romeo And Juliet
Romeo and Juliet (Rough Draft)
"Above all hold unfailing your love for one another, since love covers a multitude of sins."(1 Peter 4:8). Authors speak often of love, from this quote
in the book of 1 Peter in the Holy Bible, to Juliet's words to Romeo in Act II, Scene II, "My bounty is as boundless as the sea, my love as deep; the more
I give to thee, the more I have, for both are infinite."(Shakespeare p.40). Juliet's words have probably inspired many young men and women with
material to use while courting over the many years since it was written. Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare transcends time by addressing not
just the issue of love but also peer pressure and isolation, themes that modern–day teenagers face.
"My bounty is as boundless as the sea, my love as deep; the more I give to thee, the more I have, for both are infinite." As the reader goes on
through this story, they will find that Romeo gave Juliet a kiss the night they met. Romeo loved Juliet at first sight because of her beauty; not
because of her personality or how she behaved around people who knew her! Modern teenagers face this problem a lot, mostly because they are afraid
they won't find real love. The way God wants people to love is to look at their spirit, mind, and then body. The world does the exact opposite. Love isn't
how one looks, love is how one acts. As it says in the Bible at 1 Peter 4:8," "Above all hold unfailing your love for one another, since love covers a

Compare And Contrast Teenagers In Romeo And Juliet
In the story of Romeo and Juliet, are there possible similarities from today's world to the time period in the book? When you read Shakespeare's
story, you discover how much teenagers then remind you of today's teens. Teenagers from both these time periods seem to have a lot in common.
It is surprising how strongly the behavior of Romeo and Juliet and their friends parallels the way today's teens handle relationships and deal with
situations. One way they are similar is how teens in the story and teens today can be so dramatic. In Romeo and Juliet, Romeo is extremely
distraught over his breakup with Rosaline. He was depressed and crying, went for long walks in the woods, and would come home to a darkened
room where he would sit alone and be miserable all day! Similarly, I have known teenagers who have cried for several days and couldn't shake their
sadness simply because the person they were interested in dating did not have the same interest in them. These examples prove that the way teenagers
handle things that should be so simple to get over, in both time periods, is actually very dramatic.
As well as this, another characteristic of teenagers is how impulsive they can be. In the story, Romeo is completely lovesick, devastated, and depressed.
It amazes me how he can barely function until he suddenly takes one look at Juliet, and he then immediately gets over his love of Rosaline! As well as
this, Tybalt is impulsive when he decides he is going to go kill Romeo at the party simply because Romeo is a Montague, not because of anything he
has done. In like manner to this, today's teenagers can also be reckless like this. We may decide to go to a movie without getting permission or money.
We may hop in the car and go to get fast food only to discover we have no money in our wallet when we get to the restaurant. We may make a comment
on an Instagram post without thinking about how our words might affect someone. All of these examples prove that teens in either time period did not
think most times and just acted on first thought.
Yet another similar characteristic of Shakespeare's teenagers and today's minors is their tendency to be rebellious. Romeo and Juliet were not even
supposed to talk to each other

The, And Music Over Time
Falling in love has been defined in many ways throughout history. We can look back on literature, film, and music over time and get a basic
understanding of the process of falling in love emotionally for both teenagers and adults. As science has advanced, we are now able to go deeper into
the psyche and investigate the psychological changes an adolescent goes through while falling in love. We can also examine the physiological changes
an adolescent faces while falling in love. By breaking the process down, we can gain more understanding of the adolescents' experience of love and
how much stronger the experience is for teenagers. To prove that adolescent's experience love much stronger than adults, we can start by looking into
what happens on a biochemical level. During the duration of adolescence, hormones affect brain functioning and decision making greatly. In young
women, six times more estrogen is produced during adolescence than any other time in their life. Young men produce 20 times as much testosterone in
adolescence. These hormones contribute to the sexual urges that are often associated with the teenage years. The teenage mind is not only ruled by sex,
though.
The two hormones that cause attachment and what we know to be the "love hormone" are usually released for the first time during adolescence.
Vasopressin, the attachment hormone is released after sex to create a bond between two people, whereas Oxytocin is released during orgasm to cause
people to fall in

How People Agree With Grainer's Perception Of True Love

that their love will last a lifetime, but there are some teens that actually surpass all the trouble and end up being one another's true love. Love. Love is
something that everyone loves. But it is also something that breaks people's hearts. The outcome of love can go so many places. Some relationships
fail. Yet some are successful. But with teenagers today, is it true love or crazy love? Well in all honesty. It is both. It all comes down to the 2 people

Some in a sad, depressing heartbreak. Some into happy, romantic love. A lot of teenagers don't really know what love is. They only think they do
until they get very hurt. But as Grainer has to say with his argument, most can agree with him. Most teenage relationships don't last. Yes there may
be that one couple that blows everyone away and stays together forever, but 9 times out of 10 teenage relationships don't work out at all.
Shakespeare portrays love in a different way though. Some, like Romeo and Juliet's relationship, go out of hand. Making people do stuff no one
should do. "The doors of breath, seal with a righteous kiss. A dateless bargain to engrossing death. (kisses JULIET, takes out the poison) Come,
bitter conduct, come, unsavoury guide. Thou desperate pilot, now at once run on. The dashing rocks thy seasick, weary bark. Here's to my love!
(drinks the poison) O true apothecary, Thy drugs are quick. Thus with a kiss I die." (Act 5, Scene 3, Page 5). Romeo and Juliet's love turns drastic
when he finds out his love "died." Romeo was willing to kill himself for another person! Another example of young teenagers experiencing crazy
love. With sad heartbreaking relationships like theirs, others meet true love and become 2 happy people who are in love with each other. In one of
the passages, Mike and Sue ,a couple, have fallen in love with each other. It has shown the reader what they have been through together and shows
how Mike has fallen in love with her. "Mike can think of Sue and experience, in his mind, the way she looks, feels and smells, and that will reinforce
his connection to her" (Helen Fisher, a Rutgers University anthropologist) Mike and Sue are the definition of true love, not the crazy love which
teenagers are usually put through in their young adolescent

Parental Rebellion In Shakespeare's Romeo And Juliet
William Shakespeare wrote over thirty plays, one of which, known as Romeo and Juliet, has been labelled the most tragic love story of all time since
the early 1600s. Shakespeare's plays continue to be reinterpreted and appreciated by modern day audiences in the 21st century. Through the entirety of
its themes, Romeo and Juliet still captures the imagination of teenage audiences today. Teenagers can connect easily with the three themes in the play
of parental rebellion, suicide and love and hate relationships, which are as prevalent today as they were 450 years ago.
Parental rebellion is displayed distinctly in Romeo and Juliet and is still relevant to teenage audiences today. Parental rebellion appeals greatly to
teenage audiences. As soon as Juliet finds out that Romeo is the son of her families arch nemesis, she is straight away betraying her family when she
continues to see Romeo and marry him, and not Paris who her father insists she marries, "I will not marry yet; and when I do, I swear / It shall be
Romeo–whom you know I hate– / Rather than Paris" (iii, 5, 121–123). Shakespeare uses the high modality words "I will not" emphasising to the
audience that Juliet is disobeying her parents and doing the opposite of what she has been told. Teenagers can readily relate to this parental rebellion ...

the early 1600s.

Love and relationships appeals greatly to adolescents in the 21st century. The depth of love between Romeo and Juliet is witnessed throughout the
play "Do not swear at all / Or if thou wilt swear by thy gracious self / Which is the god of my idolatry / And I'll believe thee" (ii, 2, 118–121).
Shakespeare implies that Juliet is worshipping Romeo and will believe anything he says because she loves him. Teenagers can relate to this – not quite
so dramatically – as many are involved in relationships and believe they are in love with the person they are in a relationship

How Does Romeo A Teenager In Love
In William Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet, teenage romance is a key aspect to the storyline. But did Shakespeare do a good job in representing a
teenager in love? In my opinion, Shakespeare did a good job in showing how a teenager feels about being in love. Romeo wanted to be around Juliet
as much as he could, which is common among romance of the teen years. Romeo was dedicated to Juliet, no matter the risk, and smart teens tend to be
dedicated in love. Shakespeare implements that Romeo is madly in love, which stays true to modern teenagers. Obviously, Shakespeare did a fantastic
job at representing a teenager in love by using the character Romeo. To start off with, Shakespeare implies that Romeo craves time with Juliet, and it's
made clear in the story that this implication is true. "O, she doth teach the torches to burn bright! It seems she hangs upon the cheek of night. As a rich
jewel in an Ethiop's ear–Beauty too rich for use, for earth too dear! So shows a snowy dove trooping with crows. As yonder lady o'er her fellows
shows." Act 1, Lines 44–48 of Romeo and Juliet, Romeo can't stop looking at Juliet and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Modern teenagers, just as teenagers were in the past, are very passionate about any type of romance they are involved in. When first seen by
Romeo, Juliet appears to be the most beautiful girl that Romeo had ever laid his eyes upon. Romeo gets descriptive with her traits, all positive
things about her. He sees her as flawless. Romeo is so passionate about Juliet, that he kills himself in the end, thinking that she had done the same.
When Romeo and Juliet to get together, Romeo feels like he never wants to leave her side. Right from when Romeo and Juliet first saw each other
face to face, Romeo was in love with Juliet and that stayed true to the tragic deaths of Romeo and Juliet near the end of the play. Truly, Romeo's
passion for Juliet remains the same with two teenagers in

Thesis On Love And Infatuation: Confuses Teenagers

Title
Love and Infatuation: Confuses Teenagers
Thesis
Teenagers see relationship as love but reality says it is infatuation
Introduction
Family, friends, romantic relationships can affect teens in so many ways. Teens are more likely being influenced by the people surrounded to them. The
discipline of every teen's parents would be a big part in their development and could affect teen's mindset in the long run. In addition, the researcher
thinks that teenagers are just confused between love and infatuation, and most of the effects of being in a relationship to teens are negative. To prove
this point, the researcher studies how different love and infatuation is. Then, she explains the effects of being in a relationship ... Show more content on

Being in a relationship is a tough thing to do because of managing time. If teens enter relationships, their time studying will be lessen. Teens hang out
with their boyfriend/girlfriend instead of studying at home. Thus, getting into relationship for teens may affect their academic performance or grades.
Some teens skip classes to spend more time with their partner. This kind of relationship may cause teens to lessen interest in studying, to the point that
they do not acknowledge school anymore because their attention are being put to the time they spend with their partner.
And also, one of the effects is premarital sex and may cause early pregnancy. In one research, there are 7.3 million girls become pregnant before 18
(every year). Teenagers should be educated by this because every year, the number of early mothers is increasing. The reason for this maybe the lack
of sexual and reproductive health education to teens. As I have said, teens are biologically immature that they could not decide for themselves and they
need the guidance of their parents. Education of an early pregnant mom may be interrupted, and the health risk may increase because their body is not
yet fully developed to give

Romeo And Juliet Argumentative Essay

  • 1. Romeo And Juliet Argumentative Essay Romeo and Juliet Argumentative Essay Star crossed lovers: What does this phrase mean? Some would say fate bent over backwards to create this pair, others say it does not exist. What could possibly be more complicated than this? Teenage love is in many ways comparable to this phrase. In Romeo and Juliet, two nieve teenagers fight with their families, disown themselves, and eventually commit suicide over their ill–advised affections for one another. No matter the time gap, teenagers will always make irrational and thoughtless decisions, whether it be in Romeo and Juliet or this day and time. Despite the fact there is a cultural divide between Romeo and Juliet and the present, overall, This play is correspondent to the twenty first century student... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... To get to Juliet in her time of "death", Romeo asks Balthasar to "Get me ink and paper and hire post horses," (Shakespeare 5.1 1130). Today, cars are used to get around the roads, while Romeo has to ride a horse to reach Juliet. Furthermore, ink is a rare substance to purchase in stores nowadays because of the simplicity of pens and pencils. In the twenty first century, we use technology and social media to communicate. Many teenagers can not relate to riding a horse to deliver a message, where majority of teenagers have never written a letter! Although Culturally we have evolved from horses to ink, Romeo and Juliet is relatable to the twenty first century teenager. Conflictuality between parents and their teenagers is still pertinent in our society today. When Juliet refuses to marry Paris, her father says she can "hang, beg, starve, and die in the streets" (Shakespeare 3.5 1111) for all he cares. Capulet goes on to say he will disown his daughter if that is what it takes to persuade her. Just like in Romeo and Juliet, many teenagers fight with their parents about their significant other. I had a friend who liked a boy that did horrible things, so her mother refused to let her see this boy. They dated in secret, and this friend got hurt in the process, and lost her mother's trust when she found out. Parent conflict is something many teenagers in the twenty first century can relate to in Romeo and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 2. Comparison Of Romeo And Juliet's Behavior Romeo and Juliet were teenagers when they fell in love, and their age may prove some motives behind the foolish decisions that were made. Since Romeo and Juliet's brains were still developing as a teenager and forming some important parts critical to make smart decisions, it would essentially explain the poor quality of the teens behavior and why they struggled to make unsuitable resolutions for the both of them as a couple. They made such unsuitable decisions is because they are both too young and have yet to wait for the prefrontal cortex to develop in order to make the right decisions, not only for themselves, but the people surrounding them too. Unfortunately, the current development of the teenage brain can, however affect the decisions... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Even though Romeo and Juliet may seem ancient or incomprehensible to young readers, it can definitely be related to modern day situations and teach a big lesson while teenagers are still young and can be taught from past mistakes. Many teenagers like, "Zakia and Ali"(Rafia Zakaria The Lovers: Afghanistan's Romeo and Juliet) have experienced situations that can relate to the play, Romeo and Juliet. Zakia and Ali fell in love with each other as teenagers and ran away from their home to escape the horrible rules, customs, and consequences enforced if disobeyed, just like how Juliet ran away from her strict father who was going to make her marry Paris so she could be with Romeo. Even though Lord Capulet was treating Juliet unfairly, he should've taught Juliet in the beginning that "[t]oo soon marred are those so early made"(Shakespeare I:ii14), which means that you shouldn't rush love and therefore Ali and Zakia are also at fault for not listening to their parents as well. Even though their parenting was very strict and harsh, it still gets across the point that despite what they are told, teengaers still make irratic choices due to the ongoing development of the brain. Of course it would be the right thing for Zakia's and Ali's parents to support the relationship of their kids, but at the same time need to enforce rules ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

"Suicide is the third leading cause of death among teenagers, according to the Florida Suicide Prevention Coalition, a grassroots group of advocates formed in 2002( Diaz, Hussain, and Lade para 13)." During the 2000's, teenagers have to the ability to access a more improve internet and phones, to cause use for their own good and wicked ways. Social media gives teenagers a new way to hurt and embarrassed each other quickly. As technology get more advance, smartphones have the ability to carry social media apps, additionally a faster delivery system with texting; which causes teenagers get bullied without getting on their computers. The internet and access to phones has negatively affected on teenager suicide rates because of cyberbullying, deadly challenges on social media, and teens harassing each other through texting. As the internet becomes more popular, teenagers has a new way to bully through the web; called cyberbullying. Teenagers are super rude to one another and that they are not just doing the bullying at school; but now they are using good tool like the internet to serious harm to each other. The victims just cannot go home and feel safe and be themselves. Also be like a normal teenager and going online without having bullies there too. The bullies online are worse, since sometimes the victims do not know who the bullies are and everyone's sees it. The golden saying that "what goes on the internet stays forever, even after you deleted it". Some people are skilled enough to find the words or pictures again. Laura Smith–Spark, a national editor for CNN and her article "Hanna Smith suicide fuels calls for action on Ask.fm cyberbullying" shows that cyberbullying not just on social media. Hannah Smith from Lutterworth, Leicestershire committed suicide using the website Ask.fm. Smith went to Ask.fm for "Advice on the skin condition eczema" (Spark para. 2). Those that favor condom distribution say that distributing them will ensure teenagers practice safe sex, and the rate of teenage pregnancy will decline dramatically. Those that are against distributing condoms, say that giving them out will encourage early sexual activity and promote the idea that premarital sex is okay. • 5. school nurses station but to teach teenage girls how to refuse sex. Leo states that their partners often pressure them into sex. The problem is obviously not a shortage of latex but a shortage of training, low self–esteem, and lack of social support for abstinence in the anything goes society. Leo is correct when he states that girls are struggling to say no in our society. Those that are able to say no contribute it to a strong support of family and friends. Especially if a girl lacks that support and love, they will be more likely to seek approval from a partner. It is not a simple matter of "raging hormones", but a sense of holding onto a symbol of love and support at that moment. That is why we need more programs that support teaching concepts like self–esteem and self–assertiveness, may be more beneficial than waving a flag for free condoms in their faces. The fact that schools distribute condoms tells us that the attitude of the schools is changing towards teenage sex. It is almost a silent message to them saying "I know you are ... • 6. Romeo And Juliet: Can Teenagers Love? Can teenagers love?? Being teens, it can be easy to confuse love with lust and desire. Lusting is a great need to have sex with a certain person. And desire is almost like lust, but desire is not just with sex, desire can be targeted at either a person, or even an object. The wanting of a person is most common though, like in Romeo and Juliet, where Romeo lusts after Juliet after seeing her at a party. And in fact, we can even connect a saying into this, we all know the saying "Love at first sight," but that may not truly exist. It could, and probably should be known as "lust at first sight," but not love. I don't think you can walk into a building see someone and immediately fall in love with them, at least I hope not you'd be known as a Romeo. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... And Romeo thinks he's in love with Rosaline, giving a long harangue on his "love" then quickly mentioning her chastity and that he won't have sex. And look how quickly he falls in "love" Juliet after just glancing her at a party then walking over and kissing her twice. "Thus from my lips, by thing, my sin is purged" *kisses her twice* And quickly after that they're secretly married and when they finally have sex, Romeo tries to secretly forsake as if it's a one night stand. • 7. Rebellion Research Papers Teenagers spend their adolescent years riding a rollercoaster of experience and emotions, such as love, rebellion, and consequences, which ultimately shape their identity and who they become later in life. Many teenagers are shaped by their experiences with "love" or crushes that impact who they become later in life.In the article from Phychology Today, Dr. Carl Pickardt explains that "Teenage crushes have a significant role to play in the journey of adolesence.".He is suggesting that crushes are the begining of a teenagers ability to love as he says in the quote "After all, it is an early approximation of love.".An example of this is in real life, if a person never learns to love then they wont understand what love is or how love feels,so they wont be able to love. Love is a key role in the development of adolescents,so it is important to allow crushes. Additionally, many teenagers today are shaped by diffrent periods of rebellion. • 8. Why Is Romeo And Juliet Still Relevant Today A very frequently asked question in our society is how a play from hundreds of years ago can mean anything to the teenagers of today. Its true that two teenagers fall in love, marry, and kill themselves in a matter of days, which our society might think is hardly a serious piece of literature. But in terms of a scholarly approach Romeo and Juliet is a perfect example of why we should study Shakespeare today and why we continue to read his work. This story is exactly what relates the past to our today's modern society. Romeo and Juliet is relevant in today's society because today's kids do not have strong bonds with their parents, many teenage couples fall in love against their parents wishes ,and many teenagers rush to make decisions and make mistakes... For most of the play, it is the Nurse whom Juliet communicates or discloses with, which shows that Juliet was suffering from a lack of communication with her parents, which is really relevant in today's society. Parents nowadays don't try to be the greatest parents, which means that the parents don't spend a lot of time with their children and most of the time they let their child be handled by their maids. Parents form a very distant relationship between their kids when they don't give as much time to their kids and the maids on the other hand tend to form a stronger bond. The teenagers in Romeo & Juliet are very similar to teenagers today. Every teenager has fallen in love and has done something foolish for it. They rebel against their parents wishes and try to seek out of what their parents have set out for them, just like what Juliet did. • 9. Teenage Love In Shakespeare's Romeo And Juliet Romeo and Juliet is easily the most famous Shakespearian play ever written, but what is it that makes it so popular? The whole performance is centered on two teenagers that claim to be so in love that they would take their own lives. This really makes the audience think about teenagers and what their love is worth. It is more likely than not that a teenage relationship will end at some point. There are a number of things wrong with how minors grasp and initiate love, and a lot of it has to do with their ability to act and make good decisions. When looking at the differences between adult and teenage relationships, it is evident that teenage love is usually not as "real" as adult love. Teenagers are still developing and learning through experiences, and often they rush feelings. In Romeo and Juliet, Romeo swore that he was completely infatuated by a girl named Rosaline. This obviously does not change by the end of the play because they both end up dead at their own cost. • 10. To What Extent Are Romeo And Juliet Still Relevant Today Romeo and Juliet, one of the greatest pieces of literature of all time, written by William Shakespeare, conveys messages that are timeless and still relevant today. The play is an example of why one could agree that teenagers do not understand what true love really is. Shakespeare depicts Romeo being driven by lust and desire over women rather than the true motivation of actually getting to know and spend time with another woman. In fact, Romeo treats love for granted and seems to look for women just out of pleasure and thus does not understand what true love actually is. To start off, Romeo is completely devastated over a young woman who he admires, named Rosaline, but has discovered that Rosaline sworn not to love another man. Romeo talks ... The all–seeing sun / Ne'er saw her match since first the world begun" (1.3.99–100). Romeo does not understand what love really is because of his deceitful devotion to a woman who he admires out of beauty rather than personality. Romeo realizes that Rosaline would be attending the Capulet party, so he is willing to risk getting caught as a Montague just to see Rosaline. The scene at the party shows why Romeo's love is nothing but fake. Romeo ends up forgetting about Rosaline during the party when dancing with a girl named Juliet. Romeo's love for Juliet should be no different from his love for Rosaline since Romeo had instantly fell in love with Juliet as he did with Rosaline. Romeo arrives to talk to Juliet in the balcony scene after the party, and Juliet tells Romeo "My only love sprung from my only hate!...Prodigious birth of love it is to me / That I must love a loathed enemy" (1.5.155). Juliet is aware that Romeo, is the son of Montague, whose family are in a feud with the Capulets, which is Juliet's parents. • 11. Rash Decisions In The Tragedy Of Romeo And Juliet "With Rosaline, my ghostly Father? No. I have forgot that name and that name's woe."(Shakespeare Act 2 Scene 3). Adolescents are not physically and mentally prepared for true love. Love requires commitment and sacrifice which most teenagers cannot or just simply decide to not give. Teenagers are not mature or sensitive enough to feel and experience true love. Combined with the developing teenage brain it makes even more difficult because teens tend to make rash decisions. The period of adolescence has proven to be a period of rapid brain development, impulsivity and rash behavior. According to the article, "The Teenage Brain," by Amanda Leigh Mascarelli, the ventral striatum, in charge of the reward system in the brain, "...seems to be 'shouting ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In William Shakespeare's play, The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet, Romeo is frequently enamored with young women based upon their looks. Upon first seeing Juliet at the Capulet's party, Romeo mutters to himself, "Did my heart love till now? Forswear it, sight!/ For I ne'er saw true beauty till this night" (Shakespeare I.V. 50–51). Though Romeo has been pining for Rosaline whom his friends and confidants seem to be aware of, upon first glance to Juliet he cries out that he had never seen true beauty until he saw her. This comment is what leads to Romeo's conversation and profession of love to Juliet. He does not know her, has never spoken to her, and at this point does not even know that she is Lord Capulet's only daughter. Yet, based upon her looks, he can express love and quickly forget about the woman whom he has fantasized about being with and was depressed over her lack of reciprocity of his love. This sudden change of heart and confession of love based upon outward beauty shows that teenagers such as Romeo are not capable of true love, but rather lust and physical attraction. Also in the play, Juliet shows her traitorous behavior towards her family and Tybalt, "Shall I speak ill of him that is my husband?/Ah, poor my lord, what tongue shall smooth thy name,/When I, thy three hours' wife, have mangled it?" (Shakespeare III.ii.99–101). Juliet is showing mercy toward Romeo even after he killed her cousin. She forgot her cousin whom she has known for many years for a person she has known for less than a day. • 12. Romeo And Juliet Conflict Have you ever fallen in love with someone because you thought the person looked attractive? Have you ever put your trust in someone, until you found him or her to be disloyal? Shakespeare's classic play Romeo and Juliet demonstrates, in some instances like the above, what not to do, even in today's world. The Bible, the flawless manual for life's problems, supports these arguments. Examples of problems similar to those that teenagers face today, such as love based on looks, conditional love, and broken trust, are given in Romeo and Juliet. The first problem exemplified in Romeo and Juliet is love based on looks. Romeo met Juliet during a party held at the Capulets' house, and he fell in love with her and kissed her. They spoke for a small time then, and again for a little longer time the same night, outside Juliet's bedroom. The next morning, Romeo went to Friar Lawrence and said, Then plainly know my heart's dear love is set On the fair daughter of rich Capulet; As mine on hers, so hers is set on mine, And all combined, save what thou must combine By holy marriage.... but this I pray, That thou consent to marry us today. (2.3.57–61, 63–64) Flynn 2 Romeo and Juliet knew each other for less than twenty–four hours, and they wanted to be married the next day. • 14. Romeo And Juliet : A Story Of Love Or The Poorly... Romeo and Juliet– A Story of Love or the Poorly Functioning Biological Properties of the Teenage Brain? Since it was written, Romeo and Juliet has been regarded as the arguably most famous love story of all time. Two star–crossed teen lovers are so drowned in their own world that they commit suicide in the hope of eternally being with each other in the afterlife. In reality, were the characters' actions truly drawn from a sense of fervent love, or rather from hormonal triggers acting in unfavorable ways deep within the teenage brain? In a modern analogy, are teenagers' brains functioning on the basis of specialized thought processes, or because of biological shortcomings? In reality, rash decisions made by teenagers mostly correlate with hormonal judgement because of skewed neurological development, although environmental influences can aggravate a teen's emotions. Firstly, it is important to define what hormonal judgement is. Essentially, chemicals in the body produced during the time of puberty are making a teen think differently than their previous, younger self. Since the amount of hormones that are given to a teen are in an "adult dosage" to speed up the pace of maturation, teens are capable of completing mature tasks. The problem arises when the physical capability to behave maturely, without a brain to control actions properly, malfunctions in a way that often leads to situations that endanger a teen's life. • 15. Romeo And Juliet Essay Love In the play Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare, young love takes an unfortunate turn. Romeo Montague and Juliet Capulet are from rival families and are meant to hate each other. But one night at a party, they see each other from across the room and fall madly in love. In the time span of a week, they get married that ends in them taking their own lives. In this story, I feel like Shakespeare is trying to say that young love can be self–destructive but not to the point of killing themselves. Romeo and Juliet are the exception. Romeo and Juliet is a play created to show Shakespeare's idea of the highest form of love. This play is meant to show what real love is and drastic measures one would take to maintain said love. Shakespeare seems to believe that love is meant to be the ultimate emotion. Love is the emotion which one would risk their well being to possess. Shakespeare captures that feeling in the final scene of the play when Romeo and Juliet both end their own lives because they believe that they will never feel love that is that powerful again. The "suicide impulse" the play shows does not relate to the play's theme of the highest form of love. But it does show a different theme; young love. • 16. What Is The Difference Between Romeo And Juliet "How can your love be these dangerous things, and not bring me down, instead, giving me wings." –Tony Watson. Most people (especially teenagers) think that love is the most powerful thing on earth, and it is true; but what they don't see, is that teens tend to have different way of thinking and point of view of life, which means that their definition of "normal" is way different from the adults definition, therefore, they tend to do things that adult people usually call "dumb" or even dangerous. Love is a new thing for teenagers, and a lot of times, since they cannot recognize it, sometimes they get tricked by pretty words and faces and then "fall in love"; what they can't see, is that they might be doing the worse mistake of their lives.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The reason is simple: We see it through a screen/paper so we have a third point of view, this means that we can only see it clearly if WE live it. Modern teenagers don't mostly do it that way, instead of killing themselves, they do worse thing at the eyes of society; instead of doing things that affect them physically, they do things that hurt them mentally; action like embarrassing themselves publicly; sending the famous "nude" pictures, have become pretty usual these days, and it's very easy for someone to "ruin" your whole life with them. In Romeo And Juliet, it is very clear that the author wanted us to notice this point; in the play, we can easily notice this when Romeo finds out that Juliet was "dead", and he goes, buys and drinks the poison that kills him. "Research has found that peer pressure activates certain brain signals that are linked to the powerful drug–like interplay of risk and reward. And a captive audience is the quickest way to bolster the brain's reward system." (Firger, 2014). This can explain some of the reasons of why he did it. So when it comes to explain, why do all these actions happen? Just like Deborah Tannen says in her article "How Male And Female Students Use Language Differently," "A girl has a best friend with whom she sits and talks, frequently telling secrets...boys are expected to use language to seize center stage by exhibiting their skills...and knowledge."(para.3) Thus, sometime, these teenagers are just do not know how to start proper conversations with opposite–sex teenagers. A portion of the teenagers' brains called the nucleus accumbens is usually developed early on, and this section is responsible for seeking pleasure and reward. According to Molly Edmonds, a representative from Teenage Brain Development, discussed that, "In imaging studies that compared brain activity when a subject received a small, medium or large award, teenagers exhibited exaggerated responses to medium and large rewards compared to children and adults" (Document H). As illustrated in this quote, due to the less developed brain regions of teenagers, they are more likely to submit to their impulses, rather than curb any appeal to do so. This results in them weighing more value to the relationship, compared to the origin and emotions within it. In the article "Beautiful Brains", a development psychologist named Laurence Steinberg performed a test, and the results concluded that, " They (teenagers) didn't take more chances because they suddenly downgraded the risk. They did so because it gave more weight to the payoff" (Document D). This quote exemplifies that teenagers are less concerned about the risks involved in their actions, and rather linger on the outcome which they will eventually receive. In a recent study by Beatriz Luna, a professor of psychiatry, it was declared that,"This (use of more brain regions) lets the adults use a variety of brain resources and better resist temptation, while the teens used those areas less often and more readily gave in to the impulse to look at the flickering light– just as they're more likely to look away from the road to read a text message" (Document D). Instead, they have sexual intercourse because afterward Juliet feels accomplished that she has gotten her dream wedding night. This relates back to my claim and the passage because Romeo and Juliet do not have the proper requirements to be in a loving relationship. Romeo may put Juliet first, by risking to stay in the city for their wedding night, but Juliet puts her wants first before Romeo's safety, which proves they are not equals. Their connection is merely based off the adrenaline rush they get from being with each other and the sexual frustration they have pent up since their first meeting. Keeping this in mind, studies have shown that many teenagers have such impulses and sexual frustrations because of how adolescent minds develop. Peer pressure, jealousy and friends seem to go hand in hand when dating in high school. The best advice the teens gave for these possible pitfalls during the show sums up to communication and friendship. Ron Taffel, a psychologist who authored "Childhood Unbound" said it best during the video. He stated that the "core of romance is friendship"; if the teens that are dating are friends then they will communicate any problems right away. He also stated that when teenagers are dating, they are never just dating that one individual; they are going out with the individuals group of friends as well. Although threatened with war and destruction, the adolescents in the story 'Tomorrow, When the War Began' by John Marsden are confronted with equivalent problems as they encounter the struggles of growing into young men and women. Not unlike adolescents in ordinary society, Ellie, Homer, Lee, Robin, and Fi are forced to learn maturity and responsibility, experience love and romance, and adjust to change. It is a commonly held belief in current times that adolescents are troubled, immature, and reckless. Romantic feelings and sexual attraction to others is a natural part of growing up. In the lives of teenagers within today's society, these new feelings can be both exciting and confusing. In the story, 'Tomorrow, When the War Began', this transition is illustrated to us by Ellie; "At that age (primary school) you think boys have as much personality as coat hangers, and you don't notice their looks. Then you grow up." When adolescents experience romantic attraction for the first time, it can be difficult to distinguish the difference between the intense feelings of physical attraction and the emotional intimacy of genuine love. In 'Tomorrow, When the War Began' a romantic relationship is developed between Ellie and Lee. During chapter sixteen, Ellie describes the experience of kissing Lee; "I explored not just his lips, but his smell, the feeling of his skin, the shape of his shoulder blades, the warmth of the back of his neck." From this passage, it is evident that Ellie's 'love' for Lee is based purely upon physical attraction. Love can cause extremely impulsive decisions, such as Romeo and Juliet's decision to get married. If they hadn't of gotten married, they probably would not have died in the end. When you love someone, you dont think about the consequences you will end up facing in the future, which is much like teenagers today. Teenagers may think they're inlove and make stupid decisions like not listening to the more experienced people who have gone through all of the same issues. Their brain will not fully develop until their 20s and they are expected to lack some skills, such as decision making skills. The area in the brain that controls the decision making skills is the last to develop meaning teens have a reason to naturally lack in making decisions. "That's because the nerve cells that connect teenagers' frontal lobes with the rest of their brains are sluggish. Teenagers don't have as much of the fatty coating called myelin, or "white matter" that adults have in this area. (Knox) This quote explains the frontal lobes and how they aren't developed, and this is the reason for their flawed decision making skills. They do have some ability to make some quick and mature decisions, but not as much as an adult can. Shakespeare shows us this in Romeo and Juliet when Juliet says " If that thy bent of love be honorable, Thy purpose marriage, send me word tomorrow," (II.II.143–144) Romeo had to leave and they weren't ready to say goodbye, so on impulse, Juliet decided they should get married. As expressed by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie in her Ted Talk "The Danger of a Single Story," stereotypes are so ingrained in today's societies that it is hard for humanity to see people as individuals that act under different circumstances. Adichie explains the danger of only telling a single story, story that often becomes a generalization that affects a specific group of people by attributing them different types of behaviors and qualities, and by limiting them to those expectations. The story "The Love of My Life," written by Coraghessan Boyle and based on a true story, reflects on the stereotypes and assumptions that society has built around teenagers, sex, and pregnancy. As we saw on the story, the biggest motives that drove China and Jeremy to the decision of getting rid of the baby were highly related to the pressure these facts put on them. We can see how China expressed her fear of being judge "I don't want anyone to know" (Boyle 559), she was so concerned about letting other people know, that she forgot to think of another reasonable method like adoption. Boyle's write how China expressed her concerns with having to bring the baby with her to public places like school "I will never, never be like those breeders that bring their puffed–up squalling little red–faced babies to class," we can see how for her this fact almost sounded as insulting, and she, in fact, was just seeing the situation as most of the people would normally see it. For her having the baby would have implied walking with the proof that she did something that in our society is considered moral incorrect. Later on, we see how Jeremy had the same view on the pregnancy "What are you thinking? Nobody'll know. He's a doctor, for Christ's sake, sworn to secrecy, the doctor–patient compact and all that. What are you going to do, keep it? Just show up to English 101 with a baby in your lap and say, 'Hi, I'm the Virgin Mary'?" (Boyle 559), it is obvious how scared they were of being judged by the outsiders, not even a minute they thought of what they would have wanted because in those circumstances it was not an easy option. The saying that "if you have a child at a young age would run your life" is reflected on Boyle's story when he narrates that Jeremy is unable to continue with his normal life "He couldn't have a life. • 34. Love In Romeo And Juliet Romeo and Juliet (Rough Draft) "Above all hold unfailing your love for one another, since love covers a multitude of sins."(1 Peter 4:8). Authors speak often of love, from this quote in the book of 1 Peter in the Holy Bible, to Juliet's words to Romeo in Act II, Scene II, "My bounty is as boundless as the sea, my love as deep; the more I give to thee, the more I have, for both are infinite."(Shakespeare p.40). Juliet's words have probably inspired many young men and women with material to use while courting over the many years since it was written. Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare transcends time by addressing not just the issue of love but also peer pressure and isolation, themes that modern–day teenagers face. "My bounty is as boundless as the sea, my love as deep; the more I give to thee, the more I have, for both are infinite." As the reader goes on through this story, they will find that Romeo gave Juliet a kiss the night they met. Romeo loved Juliet at first sight because of her beauty; not because of her personality or how she behaved around people who knew her! Modern teenagers face this problem a lot, mostly because they are afraid they won't find real love. The way God wants people to love is to look at their spirit, mind, and then body. The world does the exact opposite. Love isn't how one looks, love is how one acts. • 35. Compare And Contrast Teenagers In Romeo And Juliet In the story of Romeo and Juliet, are there possible similarities from today's world to the time period in the book? When you read Shakespeare's story, you discover how much teenagers then remind you of today's teens. Teenagers from both these time periods seem to have a lot in common. It is surprising how strongly the behavior of Romeo and Juliet and their friends parallels the way today's teens handle relationships and deal with situations. One way they are similar is how teens in the story and teens today can be so dramatic. In Romeo and Juliet, Romeo is extremely distraught over his breakup with Rosaline. He was depressed and crying, went for long walks in the woods, and would come home to a darkened room where he would sit alone and be miserable all day! Similarly, I have known teenagers who have cried for several days and couldn't shake their sadness simply because the person they were interested in dating did not have the same interest in them. These examples prove that the way teenagers handle things that should be so simple to get over, in both time periods, is actually very dramatic. As well as this, another characteristic of teenagers is how impulsive they can be. In the story, Romeo is completely lovesick, devastated, and depressed. It amazes me how he can barely function until he suddenly takes one look at Juliet, and he then immediately gets over his love of Rosaline! As well as this, Tybalt is impulsive when he decides he is going to go kill Romeo at the party simply because Romeo is a Montague, not because of anything he has done. In like manner to this, today's teenagers can also be reckless like this. We may decide to go to a movie without getting permission or money. We may hop in the car and go to get fast food only to discover we have no money in our wallet when we get to the restaurant. We may make a comment on an Instagram post without thinking about how our words might affect someone. All of these examples prove that teens in either time period did not think most times and just acted on first thought. Yet another similar characteristic of Shakespeare's teenagers and today's minors is their tendency to be rebellious. Romeo and Juliet were not even supposed to talk to each other ... • 36. The, And Music Over Time Falling in love has been defined in many ways throughout history. We can look back on literature, film, and music over time and get a basic understanding of the process of falling in love emotionally for both teenagers and adults. As science has advanced, we are now able to go deeper into the psyche and investigate the psychological changes an adolescent goes through while falling in love. We can also examine the physiological changes an adolescent faces while falling in love. By breaking the process down, we can gain more understanding of the adolescents' experience of love and how much stronger the experience is for teenagers. To prove that adolescent's experience love much stronger than adults, we can start by looking into what happens on a biochemical level. During the duration of adolescence, hormones affect brain functioning and decision making greatly. In young women, six times more estrogen is produced during adolescence than any other time in their life. Young men produce 20 times as much testosterone in adolescence. These hormones contribute to the sexual urges that are often associated with the teenage years. The teenage mind is not only ruled by sex, though. The two hormones that cause attachment and what we know to be the "love hormone" are usually released for the first time during adolescence. Vasopressin, the attachment hormone is released after sex to create a bond between two people, whereas Oxytocin is released during orgasm to cause people to fall in ... Yes there may be that one couple that blows everyone away and stays together forever, but 9 times out of 10 teenage relationships don't work out at all. Shakespeare portrays love in a different way though. Some, like Romeo and Juliet's relationship, go out of hand. Making people do stuff no one should do. "The doors of breath, seal with a righteous kiss. A dateless bargain to engrossing death. (kisses JULIET, takes out the poison) Come, bitter conduct, come, unsavoury guide. Thou desperate pilot, now at once run on. The dashing rocks thy seasick, weary bark. Here's to my love! (drinks the poison) O true apothecary, Thy drugs are quick. Thus with a kiss I die." (Act 5, Scene 3, Page 5). Romeo and Juliet's love turns drastic when he finds out his love "died." Romeo was willing to kill himself for another person! Another example of young teenagers experiencing crazy love. With sad heartbreaking relationships like theirs, others meet true love and become 2 happy people who are in love with each other. In one of the passages, Mike and Sue ,a couple, have fallen in love with each other. It has shown the reader what they have been through together and shows how Mike has fallen in love with her. "Mike can think of Sue and experience, in his mind, the way she looks, feels and smells, and that will reinforce his connection to her" (Helen Fisher, a Rutgers University anthropologist) Mike and Sue are the definition of true love, not the crazy love which teenagers are usually put through in their young adolescent ... Romeo wanted to be around Juliet as much as he could, which is common among romance of the teen years. Romeo was dedicated to Juliet, no matter the risk, and smart teens tend to be dedicated in love.
