1. FORMS AND CONVENTIONS
How does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?
2. This is the front cover of the digi-pak, the band are
central and then the background is a mixture of black
and white and colour.
The black and white tree in the
background, connotes that the
presence of the band is saving their
surroundings, as the bench and
grass they are sitting on are in
colour, and the colour gradually
disappears.
The bands costumes, are all
conventional of an indie,
band, as they are all casual
but also smartly dressed
The lead singer is in the centre
of the image, which is
conventional
The Title life saver is the same colour as the band
member on the rights T-shirt, so there is a direct link
to the band and the song
3. This is the second page, which has a sheet of music in the background, with a
heart beat monitor over the top. This sticks with the life theme, throughout the
digi-pak. The heartbeat monitor lines, aren’t all the same, so it suggests that there
is always a change in the stability of it, e.g. either getting better of worse.
4. This is one of the centre pages, where one of the CD’s will go, it is a heart, with a amp lead
wrapped around, and squeezing it, this suggests that the music is killing life, which is
controversial as the main song title is “Life Saver”.
The heart is hand drawn
which makes it look and feel
quite alternative, and arty,
which is conventional of the
genre of music.
5. This is the 4th page, where the second CD will go, it shows the lead singer and the girl from
the video for “Life Saver” so that the digi-pak is linked to the videos and the music.
We have put broken glass
over the top, this links to the
video, as there where cracks
shown in the relationship in
the music video, this therefore
translates through to the digi-
pak, this is conventional to
have links between products.
6. This is the 5th page, and it shows, Ed the lead singer, and main character in the video,
out of focus in the background. In the foreground and in focus there is a plectrum with
blood dripping from it, this suggest that it has been pulled from someones body, to save
their life.
7. Along each side of the
page, there is a heart beat
monitor, this is to link to
the song “Life Saver”.
The band are in colour, but everything
else is in black and white, this connotes
The song titles are laid out in that the band are living and everything
a conventional style with one else is dyeing around them, they can save
bellow the other objects through the music.
8. This is the Magazine The album is featured on the

we have decided to stick with
this as it is the easiest and most

there is still that life theme
throughout all the products.
We have used the same

conventional and therefore
we have followed it.
It is conventional for small
