merchandise is everywhere. Orenstein writes about when she took her daughter to the dentist and once the check–up was over, her daughter got a
princess sticker. Princesses are embedded into a child's everyday life, making a "princess" more of a way of living than a fantasy. To further this

In John Barth's short story "Lost in the Funhouse" he uses meta–fiction to make a rather simple plot into a complex narrative. Barth uses meta fiction in
his own unique way. In this short story the narration overlaps three times. The perspective of the protagonist (young Ambrose), the author, and the
narrator who gives the majority of the meta–fictional elements. This story differs drastically from comedic uses of metafiction that are more common
in everyday media. Instead of the protagonist, or any character of the book, acknowledging the metafiction themselves, the author intervenes and adds

I personally agree with Anderson when she states that the show was not very clear because of the fast pace of the show and the music and bright
colors were a distraction to the information, which makes it hard to grasp the concept of multiplication or verb tenses. "It is easy for them to absorb
the information, but at no time are they taught or forced to analyze what they have just seen" (Anderson, 3). Students need to be able to analyze
information, before they can actually grasp the full concept of the knowledge. Here is where I oppose a different solution. I do believe that the

What I found most interesting was the topics of menarche and menstruation were framed in the video. There is a great deal of positivity about
menstruation that I am unaccustomed to seeing here in the United States. In western culture, menarche is not treated as a time of celebration;

individuals purchasing these Disney costumes, toys, candy, and other related items for their children. Our society today accepts Disney and their
culture of entertainment as a part of a child's childhood experience without second thought. Elements of the fairytale of Cinderella has adapted over
time to please the culture in which it is told; yet in today's culture, adaptation to these elements is taken to where it has never been. In "The Princess
Paradox," James Poniewozik says, "You can have the girly dream of glass slippers and true love, these films say, as well as the womanly ideal of
self–determination and independence and any contradictions between them are no match for the movies' magic" (Poniewozik 324). Peggy Orenstein
compliments Poniewozik's article because she states, "The first Princess items, released with no marketing plan, no focus groups, no advertising, sold
as if blessed by a fairy godmother" (Orenstein 327). Poniewozik is trying to argue that films have altered the story of Cinderella in the 21st century
