Precipitation can take several forms as water falls from clouds including rain, drizzle, sleet, hail and snow which are distinguished by the size and state of the falling water droplets. Clouds form when water vapor cools and condenses in the atmosphere, with the main cloud types being cumulus, stratus and cirrus clouds.
