CINEMA PROJECT
PROYECTO HUMANITAS 1º ESO
MISSION
You have been selected for the final round
of a director´s got talent show.
To impress the jury, you must prepare a
short film of about 5 minutes long.
Remember all the things you have learnt in
the previous week
TEAM WORK
• In order to help you win, we have
made teams of 5 students.
• Each one of you, has a different role in
it, to work in a more efficiently way.
• What it doesn´t mean you only do
things related to your role, you all must
help each other.
ROLES
 Communicator: Are you talkative? Then this is your role. In charge of delivering
messages between the teachers and the team.
 Behaviour controller: Keep your team calm and take it easy, sometimes team work
can put a bit of stress over us.
 Time controller: your job is to control it and check the time of each task.
 Coordinator of activities: The boss, being respectful and listening to the rest of the
team, he must decide what to do and how to do it.
 Secretary: Whatever your team needs, this is your job. You will have to be able to
provide to your team anything they need.
FIRST WEEK DAY
1

• What is your favourite movie? Why? How many times have you seen it?
• Who is your favourite actor/actress? If you could meet any actor, who would it be?
• If a film based on a book comes out, do you normally read the book before watching the
movie? Why?
• If you were a film director, what kind of movie would you make? (genre, actors....)

2. STORYBOARD: is a panel or panels on which a sequence of sketches depict the
significant changes of action and scene in a planned film, as for a movie,
television show, or advertisement.

4. Finally is time to create your own one in groups using CELTX:
1. Think the story you are going to draw.
2. Draw it and write the description of whats happening.

2. Then each group will present their storyboard to the rest of the
class.

•STEPS TO CREATE YOUR SHORT
FILM.
1. Brainstorming: Think about the purpose
of your story.
2. Planning: Now you have a rough idea of
the theme of your story, take some time
to explore how you want to say it. Do you
want to make a documentary? Or do you

• Once you know how to structure a film creation, you will watch these 3
different short films:

Choose one. You will have do a similar short film, with some own variations:
You have to change at least one of this parts: the story, script, characters,…
Film duration: 3-5 minutes
All group members have to appear in the film.
REST OF THE SECOND WEEK
• DAY 2:
• Start creating the part of the short you have chosen to modify (the story, script,
characters,…)
• DAY 3:
• Finish working on your own bit of the short.
• Think about the way you are going to link your creation to the short film and organize it,
so that it fits perfectly, like if it was a new short film. Where to film the scenes, members
of the team and their roles in each scene.
• And when you are ready,… START FILMING
• DAY 4:
• Carry on filming all the scenes.
THIRD WEEK
• DAY 1:
• Carry on filming all the scenes. Don´t forget to include some funny
• outtakes at the end of your short.
• DAY 2 AND 3:
• Video editing: connect all the scenes together, special effects, soundtrack, titles,
credits,…
• DAY 4:
• Watch all the short films of all the clases and the jury will vote for:
• BEST FILM
• BEST SPECIAL EFFECTS
• BEST SOUND EFFECTS
• BEST ACTORS

REST OF THE SECOND WEEK • DAY 2: • Start creating the part of the short you have chosen to modify (the story, script, characters,…) • DAY 3: • Finish working on your own bit of the short. • Think about the way you are going to link your creation to the short film and organize it, so that it fits perfectly, like if it was a new short film.
