Business Model
Good evening everyone. My name is YJ Gil and I am the CEO of HUiNNO.
At HUiNNO, we are working on innovation of healthcare and humanity.
HUiNNO is a new innovative Blood Pressure Monitor that can be worn on your wrist to instantly, accurately, continuously measure blood pressure at any time, without traditional cuffs.
So, what is first things the doctor check, when you visit to the hospital?
What is one of the most important vital sign?
We can probably all agree, they check the blood pressure first.
Knowing your blood pressure and managing hypertension is very important as you see here.
Having high blood pressure or Hypertension can lead to many different serious complications.
In U.S, approximately every minute, a person dies of hypertension related illness.
A lot of papers and journals on hypertension say the following.
“If you can continuously be aware of Blood Pressure to manage and control hypertension….
The problem is that existing Blood Pressure Monitors cannot measure blood pressure continuously and conveniently.
The current cuffed based devices haven’t been changed over 100 years.
Blood Pressure Monitors are very difficult and inconvenient to use. They can’t be use used continuously and they are very slow in working. And they are also not very accurate.
Lots of things can mess up your blood pressure as you see here. Like crossing your legs or having a full bladder while measuring the blood pressure will affect the results.
I will now explain about our solution.
This device is called CIRCLO.
This smart watch can instantly, accurately and easily measure blood pressure.
So it is very convenient to use.
It is very accurate because we use multiple biometric to estimate blood pressure in real time.
Compared to other invasive blood pressure monitor, CIRCLO is accurate for 94%.
I discovered this algorithm during my Ph.D course. This technology is for which I received my Ph.D.
Let’s now compare CIRCLO with competitors.
There have been studies which outline the development of non-invasive blood pressure monitoring system since mid 2000.
This paper proves the highest level of feasibility when PTT(Pulse Transit Time) is used to measure blood pressure.
This proves the co-relation between blood pressure and a reciprocal of PTT.
The left picture that you see here is a prototype system for measuring blood pressure using PTT.
On the right you see a patent of Samsung Electronics, also using PTT.
As you can see, our technology is unlike any other competitors.
We use 3-biometrics to measure blood pressure while the others have only one biometric. So therefore we are very accurate.
A report in Wired says that the number of wearable devices on the market counts 266 as of September 30, 2014.
But these wearable devices are totally failing the people who need them most.
It also says that “So who made a long-term commitment to measuring and tracking their health? People with two or more chronic diseases. According to a Research Survey, 45% of US adults are dealing with at least one chronic condition.”
So Wearables should more focus on chronic patients like high blood pressure patients and Diabetics.
Unfortunately, wearable devices cannot measure Blood Pressure.
Until now Wearable devices for chronic patients could not be found.
Now about the market…
32.5% of US adults over their 20’s suffer from hypertension. Proximately 13% of these people are serious hypertension patients. They need to control their health by measuring their blood pressure every day.
Statistically it shows that blood pressure monitoring market will grow up to 1.2BUSD in 2015.
Our business model is represented on this slide.
Consumers can buy our device from retail shop or online.
Initial App will be provide for free.
However for more analysis data and connectivity, we will charge premium cost.
Our milestone is represented on this slide.
In June last year, we finalized the incorporation in US. And in December 2014, we developed the working mock-up. Our plan for the second quarter of 2015 will be the FDA Approval. And in 4th quarter of the year, we plan to launch globally our product.
