 During the process of translation the translator
has to keep in mind both the things-1 Terms of
Style
2 Terms of Meaning
 It is necessary for anyone to use proper
apparatus while translating anything and also
have to use in an appropriate way.

3. GLOSSARY
“A Glossary is a set of terms with translations,
definitions and notes’
o Glossary contains explanation of concept relevant
to certain field of study or action
o It is also known as Vocabulary, which appears at
the end of the work and includes different terms
used by him in the book.

commonly connected
with Non-Fiction book,
because there are
some unfamiliar
words
 It is set of words
which has consistent
terminology

5. INDEX
“An Alphabetical list of names,
subjects etc.. With reference to the
pages on which they are
mentioned”
 It is list of topics which found in
collection of documents
 Translator follow this step first for
making translation in an easy way
for readers.
 The League of Nations established
a record of translation in 1932
 In 1946, United Nations and
UNESCO has signed the Index

6. ANNOTATION
“A note by way of explanation or comment added to a text or diagram”
It is also known as FOOTNOTE
Translator should use diagram for making it easy for reader and annotation helps in the
process
At the end of the text he puts short explanation which should be short, sweet and smart.
In short translator have to put his overviews which must covered the whole concept

7. TRANSLATOR’S NOTE
“ A translator’s note is a note added by the
translator to the target text to provide additional
information pertaining to the limits of the
translation, the cultural background, or any other
explanations.”
 Translator generally make the extra information
which are his own opinions and ideas
 It is an addition to a text made with the
intention of providing greater
clarify for specific interpretive
decision in target text,
