2. WHAT IS
A Hyperloop is a fifth mode of transportation. It will allow the
world to transport people and goods inexpensively, safely, and
at the speeds never thought possible. A Hyperloop comprises
a sealed tube or system of tubes through which a pod may
travel free of air resistance or friction conveying people or
objects at optimal speed.
3.
4. VISION
Reinvent transportation to eliminate the
barriers of distance and time.
MISSION
Deliver fast, direct, autonomous,
sustainable transportation at scale,
beginning with three production systems
in service by 2021.
5. WHY
Transportation (road, water, air, and rail) tend to be some mix
of expensive, slow, and environmentally harmful. Road travel
is particularly problematic, given carbon emissions and the
fluctuating price of oil. As the environmental dangers of
energy consumption continue to worsen, mass transit will be
crucial in the years to come.
6. WHY
A growing global economy require faster, cheaper, safer and
more efficient transportation modes. Our roads, airports, and
ports are congested. We haven’t had a new form of transport
in 100 years, and we’re due for one, especially one that is
ultra-fast, on-demand, direct, emission-free, energy
efficient, quiet and has a smaller footprint than other
high-speed transport modes. Hyperloop is additive to
existing forms of transportation and will integrate seamlessly
with the transport ecosystem.

8. WHERE CAME FROM?
The idea of travelling through a vacuum tube has been around
for more than 100 years. In fact, some of the very first
underground railways in the UK ran using an air pressure
system.
9. ADVANTAGES
1. A tremendous saving in travelling times, both for
passengers, as well as in case of freight transport.
2. A significant reduction in cost if the technology is adopted,
especially when compared with alternatives such as bullet
trains.
3. Significant reduction in energy consumption, and also
reduced pollution.
4. Has the potential to revolutionize the entire transport sector.
5. A boost to economic productivity and GDP growth.
10. DISADVANTAGES
Human factor considerations:
Remember that when you’re shuttling through the Hyperloop,
you’re speeding through a sealed iron tunnel, in a narrow,
sealed, windowless capsule at almost the speed of sound.
There is supposed to be a lot of vibration and jostling. Such
an experience may be frightening for some.
Possibility of technical glitches and shortage of power:
It may be possible that the Hyperloop may break down on
route, or any of its machinery may malfunction. In such a
case, how will the repair team do its job? It has to enter a
sealed tunnel, which is partially vacuumed.
