 Teaching was dominant by individualistic learning.
 Now it is accepted & recommended instructional
procedure.

4. Definition of Cooperative Learning
• Cooperative Learning is an educational approach to teaching and learning
that involves groups for learner working together to solve the problem,
complete the task or create a product.

5. Type of Cooperative Learning
• Informal Cooperative Learning groups are remain for a few minutes to
one class period.
• Formal Cooperative Learning groups are remains at least for one class
period to several weeks.
• Cooperative Base groups are long term and remains at least one year.

6. Element of Cooperative Learning
• Positive Interdependence
• Face to Face interaction
• Individual and group Accountability
• Interpersonal and small group skills.
• Group processing

7. Positive Interdependence: The group is working together and each
member of group has a role
Face to Face interaction: every member is responsible for their own
learning
Individual and group Accountability: student help to promote each
other's learning
 Interpersonal and small group skills: Groups learn how to
communication, built trust and how to become a effective learner.
Group processing: After working together group analyze good and
challenging part of working together

• The first issue is understanding the nature of social interdependence.
• The second issue is understanding the research validation.
• The third issue is to understand the five basic elements that make
cooperation work.
• The fourth issue is to understand the flexibility and many faces of
cooperative learning.
