Similarities Between Justin Trudeau And Angela Merkel
Justin Trudeau and Angela Merkel are confusing politicians because while both are considered
radical, they often ignore political parties norms and do what is best for their country, continent and
the world. Justin Trudeau assumed office as Canadian Prime Minister in 2015 with goals of raising
taxes on the wealthy, improving international relationships, and boosting federal spending to pull
Canada out of an economic recession. While in Germany, Angela Merkel has reigned as German
Chancellor for over a decade, and while she has modified her political promises, her goals remain
rooted in right wing German Conservatism. As a member of the Christian Democratic Union party
of Germany and de facto leader of the European Union, Merkel has fought to establish Christianity
as a core value for the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is clear that Trudeau is focused on globalization and in a recent meeting with US President Donald
Trump stated that only minor changes should be made to the North American Free Trade Act
(Jackson and Slack). In addition to NAFTA, Trudeau has been a key member in the Trans Pacific
Partnership, which allows for easier trade across borders. Both international agreements support the
idea of free trade across borders and overall globalization. Trudeau also promised to spend
$100,000,000 on resettling 25,000 Syrian refugees in 2015 (Plucinska), and since has only built on
his goal, allowing over 40,000 refugees into Canada. Trudeau's international policies of borderless
societies and his will to fulfill the needs of the world's most desperate parallel Karl Marx's
Communist ideologies. Justin Trudeau actions, both nationally and internationally, show his
commitment to the Proletariat class, and his beliefs in globalism, tax breaks for the middle class, and
secularism prove that he favors Communist

Ivanka Trump Persuasive Speech
(Insert Creative Title ;) )
Many people may believe the First Daughter, Ivanka Trump, is just the rich daughter of the
president. However, she is much more than what society wants to think of her. Over the last 2 years,
Ivanka Trump has risen to become a strong advocate for Women's Rights and education. Ivanka
Trump is the most influential activist of female empowerment of the gender gap, proper education,
and STEM careers. What makes Ivanka Trump stand apart is her willingness to make ideas happen.
Our society needs more activists like her.
Today, women all over the world are separated by a gender gap that affects making the same wages
as men. According to a study done by the American Association of University Women, "Women
working full time in the United States typically were paid just 80 percent of what men were paid, a
gap of 20 percent" (Miller, Kevin). Ivanka Trump has proven her strong support for shattering the
pay gap. The pay gap has been closing since 1970. It has been estimated to take another "170 years
to close the gap which is unacceptable" (Shelbourne, Mallory) according to Ivanka Trump and
World Bank President Jim Yong Kim. ""Single women without children earn 94 cents for each
dollar earned by a man, whereas married mothers earned only 77 cents. Gender is no longer a factor
in creating the greatest wage discrepancy in this country. Motherhood is. We are working to change
labor laws were put into place when women were not a significant portion of the workforce. (Ivanka
Trump)" (Shelbourne, Mallory)" Ivanka Trump is a big influencer to powerful people in the world.
She has spoken with world leaders like Prime Minister of Canada, Justin Trudeau, and Chancellor of
Germany Angela Merkel about the gender pay gap. Talking to world leaders at a Women 20 Summit
in Germany, Ivanka praised Chancellor Merkel for passing a transparent paid leave legislation in
Germany. She said, "The United States will look to Germany for legislation that will benefit families
on paid leave." (Abramson, Alana) Ivanka also talked about the uniqueness of women in the
workplace. Proper legislation will help support working women all over the world support their
families.

The Narrative Style Of Angela Merkel, Chancellor Of Germany
Narrative intelligent leaders are significant to organizations, as they lead by storytelling, they are
simultaneously influencing others through trust and communication. The purpose of this
communication analysis is to highlight and describe how the narrative leader style of Angela
Merkel, Chancellor of Germany, ultimately inspires her followers. First, it will provide insight by
outlining her narrative approach based on her speeches, presentations, and podcasts in addition to,
the literature available in narrative communication and leadership. Next, it will delineate the
strengths of her communication style thus enhancing her narrative method. Then, the focus will shift
to bring attention to potential areas of improvement to the narrative approach. Finally, this analysis
will conclude with recommendations which in turn will refine her delivery, aid in conveying her
intended message, and ultimately enrich her narrative intelligent leadership style.
Narrative Communication
Narrative Intelligence is the capacity to understand the world, being familiar with the multi–
dimensions of narratives, to know different patterns of stories exist, to know which narrative
patterns are likely to have what effect in which situation, knowing how to overcome the
fundamental attribution error, and understand the audience's story. Narrative intelligence has been
undeniably dynamic in the leadership style of Chancellor Merkel. Her experiences growing up in
East Berlin were significant in

The Lack Of A Central Holocaust Memorial
ecrying the lack of a central Holocaust memorial in Germany, a group of German citizens begins a
decade–long campaign for a highly visible, national "Memorial to Europe 's Murdered Jews." The
idea for the memorial is first proposed by journalist Lea Rosh and historian Eberhard Jaeckel who
together had made a documentary about the deportation and mass murder of Europe 's Jews between
1933 and 1945.
November 1992
Key decisions
The German government decides that the memorial should be devoted only to Jewish victims of the
Holocaust and designates a prominent location in the center of the newly–unified city of Berlin: The
five–acre site will lie due south of the Brandenburg Gate, which until 1989 had divided East and
West Berlin. The site is also just a few steps from the buried remains of the bunker where Adolf
Hitler committed suicide. Amidst the Berlin 's tremendous construction boom (which garnered it the
nickname "Europe 's Hong Kong"), the monument is but one of many construction projects that
anticipate the relocation of the German federal government from Bonn to Berlin by the year 2001 ––
the same year that the monument is scheduled to be unveiled.
November 1993
Another memorial is dedicated
Germany dedicates one of its central monuments, the "Neue Wache," or New Guard House, to "the
victims of war and tyranny." Inside is a classical statue of a woman cradling her grown, slain son, an
enlargement of one of German Chancellor Helmut Kohl 's favorite works. Critics

Descriptive Essay On The Kite Runner
The Photos Hassan stood there, starring at the Baroque façade of the house. Today was the day. He
had been waiting for this moment ever since the German Bundestag passed a motion calling upon
politicians to have greater interaction and participation with the Syrian refugee . He was nervous, he
moved his tongue around his mouth, noticing a lack of saliva. He was deeply humbled. A chaperon
tapped him on his back and guided him toward the sturdy gold–emblazoned oak door. Quite a strong
contrast to the smog–filled festering grey carcass of Aleppo, Syria. There she stood, standing firmly

Angela Merkel As A Positive Role Model For Women
WOMEN
Justin, 16
1. What three qualities/adjectives do you associate with males? Stronger, more carefree, more social
2. What three qualities/adjectives do you associate with females? Intelligent, more clearly
expressive, greater self control
3. What 2 women (living or dead) do you see as positive role models for women? Why? Angela
Merkel is a good role model for women because she is an example of an intelligent woman who has
used her skills to take an effective position of power upon the world stage.
Mother Theresa is a good example of a woman who was strong in faith, and who was take–charge,
but still humble and selfless.

9. What do you enjoy most about being male/female? I most enjoy the freedom of style that men
experience, which requires much less time and burden than typical female clothing and beauty. I
also enjoy possessing (some) of the greater athletic aptitude that men have.
10. What changes have you seen/do you think you will see regarding the role of men/women in
society during your lifetime? I think that in my lifetime, for better or for worse, men and women
will become much less defined from each other, and less expected to fit gender roles. I see how this
can benefit, but I worry that the consequences will be much worse. History shows that an ill–defined
society tends to fall apart, and I worry that once we cross a certain threshold as a society, that we too
will fall apart.
11. What advice would you give (other gender) to help in the relationships? For men, I would
suggest to try and be more genuinely empathetic of how women are feeling and thinking. It is
important to actually try to understand what your female counterpart is saying, and take that with
genuine attention, concern, and thought.

Main Themes Of The Prince By Machiavelli
1. Machiavelli wrote The Prince because he wanted to give Lorenzo The Magnificent, a book that
highlights major keys to being a Prince and being one efficiently. Also, The Prince was written
because to gain endeavor by the prince it is customary to give him something a person holds most
valuable, Machiavelli held his knowledge most valuable.
2. The way 'Governments are Established and Held', is a theme in The Prince. Machiavelli says, 'The
dominions thus acquired have either been previously accustomed to the rule of another prince, or
else have been free states, and they are annexed either by force of arms of the prince himself, or of
other, or else fall to him by good fortune or special ability.', he then further explains this topic in the
next nine chapters. Another one of the major themes is "War'. Machiavelli explains how to use the
methods of offense and defense in a war if a princes' foundation is stable for four chapters. Finally,
'Reputation' is a theme of The Prince. Throughout the last twelve chapters Machiavelli explains how
you should act to keep in favor of your citizens.
3. The role of armies is to maintain its country's' defense through fortifications. This ensures security
and stops enemies from attacking a prince's' country.
4. Machiavelli's advice is more realistic. He writes the 'real truth of the matter than to its
imagination', compared to other writers that have, 'have imagined republics and principalities which
have never been seen or known to exist in reality'.
5. Machiavelli says it is better for a prince to be both feared and loved, because men will love at free
will and fear at the will of their prince, but a prince must rely solely on his power that he already
has. It is possible for a prince to be both. A prince could show love by giving constant support for
many of the citizens of his country, but should also be feared because he should give consequences
to citizens who do not follow the rules of the country.
6. Conspiracy, a prince should not worry about conspiracies when people are well, but when people
are hostile, he should fear conspiracies. Merit, a prince should show merit, and honor those who
excel. Goodness, a prince should gain

Australian Dual Citizenship Essay
Australian dual nationals can travel to the US: Malcolm Turnbull
The article 'Australian dual nationals can travel to the US' published on the 31st of January 2017 by
The Sydney Morning Herald, written by Tom Mrlloy and David Wroe, reflects how Australian
citizens with dual citizenship will not be affected by the US's contradicting immigration prohibition.
At the Parliament House, Canberra, Mr Turnbull stated that people with dual citizenship are
approved to visit the US, despite their beliefs or culture.
The main issue raised in this article was that Australian citizens which hold a dual citizenship are
not allowed to travel to the US. Mr Turnbull confirmed dual citizenship holders are safe to visit the
US with no harm or worry. However, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I never knew citizens from countries, such as, Pakistan, Lebanon, Jordan, Turkey or Iran, loss
permission to travel to the US, conversely, owning an Australian citizenship. I found this very
unfair. I know those countries may have terrorist and dangerous people, but minority is like them,
they are still people, like us. In the future, I believe, I would like to support everyone from refugee
countries. I would like to take action helping the innocent people, who had nothing to do with the
bombing and terrorist attacks. Those five countries withdrawal of dual citizenship could become an
on–going issue, affecting my community, as well as, I believe, nationally and internationally. Family
connection could be lost or interrupted, causing distress, anger, grief and etc., initiating conflict on
the planet. My suggestion to resolve this problem, would be considering or further discussing
possible prevention measures being overlooked to avoid the situation from escalating.
I believe, everyone in Australia should be treated fairly and have equal rights. I also support people
with dual citizenship and background from Pakistan, Lebanon, Jordan, Turkey or Iran should be
treated the same as all Australian citizens, despite their race or background. I was disappointed with
the negative change of the US citizenship rights, as a young boy with a dual Iranian – Australian

Woman in Political Representation
Women in political representation In 2012, Only 12 women reached parliament that's 2% of the
whole parliament women do not represent only 2% of society (Daily news). Women are never
placed in political representation in the Egyptian politics which is a sign of no democracy in Egypt.
Democracy is a system of government by the whole population or all the eligible members of a
state, typically through elected representatives. Although, the Egyptian constitution claims that
Egypt is a democratic and developed society, women are not equal to men when it comes to political
representations. Women have the right for equal representation in the governing bodies of Egypt. It's
also commonly believed that when it comes to multitasking women can do it better. Researchers
proved that when women and men work on a number of simple tasks such as searching for a key or
doing easy math problems at the same time, women significantly outperformed the men.
Many theories prove that women have always been capable of scoring higher in IQ tests, which are
the measurements of intelligence. However, because of discriminatory gender roles, women never
realized their own potential. According to IQ expert James Flynn, women have closed the IQ gap
and are in fact scoring higher than men. gender–based differences in education and social roles have
historically set the bar lower for women. Women have always been capable of scoring higher in IQ
but because of discriminatory gender socializing, never

Consequences Of Esperanza Rising
Many people who have read Esperanza Rising by Pam Munoz Ryan believe that Esperanza and her
mother should have stayed in Mexico, but in my opinion, I believe that they were right to leave for
California. If they stayed, they would have had to face several consequences, one being having to
live with Esperanza's uncle, despicable Tio Luis. At the same time, when they went to California,
they did not have to leave everything behind, it was a choice they made. After all, as Esperanza
herself said in the book, "Do not ever be afraid to start over." (p. 253)
Esperanza and her mother made the choice to leave Mexico and go to California to work and escape
Tio Luis, which I believe to be a good decision. Before going, Esperanza was spoiled, rich, and
quite full of herself, living in a high social class family, and in general thought of herself better than
others. At first, she was against leaving everything she knew and loved, but in the end, found herself
liking California. Esperanza made new friends, in particular, Isabel, who taught her many things,
even though she was younger. She taught her how to appreciate what she had, and how to get a job
done. She taught her how to deal with the fact that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

up to those said people to decide. A point often overlooked, though, when all of the numbers are in

Pursuit Of Power In Macbeth
Seeking power is exhilarating but it can be someone's undoing. The hunt for power can oftentimes
lead to different external and internal consequences, which can also depend on the person or
environment. Shakespeare's Macbeth focuses on a character who eventually becomes obsessed with
the pursuit of power, and trying to control the power that he already has. His power affects him and
everyone around him. This act of trying to collect as much power as possible will ruin him,
ultimately being his downfall. The real life example of Vladimir Putin showcases that he and people
around him have also suffered the the consequences evident in Macbeth. Many times, the pursuit of
power will lead to psychological impacts such as feeling fear and guilt which can show on the
outside as delusion and insanity. Macbeth has hallucinations based around guilt and to others he
seems delusional and insane. After he hires the three murderers to kill Banquo and Fleance, they
come back unsuccessful, only managing to kill Banquo. He is haunted by a hallucination of an
apparition of (supposedly) Banquo and says "(to GHOST) Thou canst not say I did it. Never shake.
Thy gory locks at me./ Gentlemen, rise. His highness is not well" (Shakespeare 3.4.61–63). Without
being prompted by the ghost, Macbeth responds and another noble is weary of his actions. He kills
Banquo because Banquo suspects that Macbeth did something horrible (like killing the king) to
become king. Macbeth wants to keep the power that he

Black Feminism : An Era Of Progressive Activism For Women
The United States has observed an era of progressive activism for women. But, feminism is by its
nature a complex notion and one can't fully appreciate its effectiveness forgetting the aspect of
ethnic discriminations in the country (Collin, p.p 47). Race matters exist in diverse places and at
unusual times under extensively unreliable circumstances. It is different from white feminism as
they have managed to attain their own freedom in a different way. This was because Black women
were hardly seen as an active figure in such movements over the history. Currently, the issues of
black feminism are hardly discussed at any forum. One must agree with the fact that black women

In fact, it provides the black women a supremacy over the white women in terms of physical and

strong black identity by expressing their natural talent with least glamorous ways of expression.
Mobilization:
All that we need is to use our five senses. Let's meticulously observe ourselves and records the facts
how the way we look, smell, taste, sound and feel. This is what the way we are and this is what the
way God has made us. And, God never makes the mistake. Black women have their own identity.
They are unique. Thus, rather following the celebrities liked by everyone, the black women have to
work out their own recognition in terms of fashion, behaviour, looks, education, shopping, and
acting and even in the corporate strategies of the business. The reason because black women are
made different is that they are born for different approaches in life. Currently, the image of black
women in the media is badly intoxicated by the news of domestic violence, strong physique, bad
attitudes and misery of being beaten by men (Brinkley et al, p.p 113). Although, these facts are quite
true up to some extent but we know that this is not the entire picture. The fact is that we all have an
attitude problem. Not all of them are bitter. Black women are sagacious enough to control the
matter. Yes! The obesity level is higher among black women. Moreover,

The European Union ( Eu )
The European Union (EU) is composed of twenty– eight European countries. Since its inception in
the early 1990's, the EU has moved major European countries towards economic cooperation.
Lately, the fundamental and economical disparity of some of these countries, specifically Germany
and France has caused dissent within the Union. The debate over fiscal policy, in particular, austerity
implementation has left the two European powerhouses at odds on the best possible way to regain
regional stability. This paper will seek to shed light on as to why these two countries have such
differing views of austerity and to describe the issues that arise due to them.
France is considered to be a modern European country. It is a member of the UNSC (United Nations
Security Council), the G–8, the G–20, NATO and the EU. France's governmental system consists of
a hybrid presidential–parliamentary system. France is the most visited country in the world and is
estimated to contribute to the EU budget 19.674 billion Euros. On the opposite side, the EU spends
approximately 13.479 billion Euros on France (Europa).
Germany is also considered to be a modern European country. They are also part of the UNSC, the
G–8, the G–20, NATO and the EU. Germany utilizes a federal parliamentary republic system. With

Angela Merkel The Glass Ceiling
The term "glass ceiling" is an acknowledged barrier that women and members of minorities face
when they try to climb the ladder of success. They physically can see the next achievement, but
ultimately cannot reach it because of their gender or race. Angela Merkel is a product of East
Germany during the cold war, not only did she have the obstacle of being brought up by a
communist regime to overcome, but she had to prove that being a woman would indeed make her a
good leader of the people of Germany. Sometimes accused of being an anti–feminist, Merkel over
time developed here leadership skills to overcome her communist upbringing, major controversies
within her own political party, and the dreaded "Mommy Problem" to become Germany's first

the unification, Kohl sat in an interesting position. He needed to unite the East and West, but also
there was beginning to be trend to see women in politics. "Seeking to bring in women and East

Identifying Requirements For High Level Policy Makers
Phase One – Identifying Requirements
1. High level policy makers are not only concerned with intelligence; they are constantly concerned
with reelection. A policy maker who is identifying requirements could decide to focus resources on
an issue that is less vital to the nation's security in order to obtain information that will get them
reelected. High level threats could be pushed to the side in order to address an issue that is not
necessarily as vital but is a hot topic in news media, and public opinion. This would be followed
down by the intelligence community and the more dangerous area or individual threat could be left
unmonitored.
2. Often briefings and communication between high level officials and analysts are hectic times and
communication of requirements could not be communicated clearly. A policy maker giving feedback
on collection objectives or asking questions could be perceived by the intelligence official as
requesting more information when really that policy maker has enough information to make a
decision. This is an issue when two people come from different backgrounds and use different
phrasing, objectives could be easily misunderstood. Time and resources would then be wasted to
gather intelligence on issues that are no longer relevant.
3. Officials in the intelligence community often faced with new policy makers or those with
differing views from those in the intelligence community could decide to ignore or alter
requirements to suit their own

Giving women a shot at managerial jobs before stereotyping could be a milestone for this situation.
A. Women have more leader attributes than people expect. One of the many qualifications of a
leader is to be a good listener, and we all know women prevail in this matter.
1. We have all realized over time that women are amazing listeners and conversationalists. Kip
Tindell, CEO of "Container Store" believes that communication is the basic need for conscious
capitalism.
2. Women already in managerial jobs know one thing men do not, and that is how to prevail in
situations where the odds are against them.
3. Women have a skill men seem to lack and that is emotion. With emotion women can connect on
personal levels with their employees and motivate them to give the best they are capable of.
B. Women leaders have shown to be the best in their positions and worthy of great challenges.

Would the results of such a bold move outweigh its costs? Would opposition to such a movement
not be swift and without mercy? Or, rather, why not slowly permeate a culture from the inside out,

Brainwashing: Fact vs Fiction Essay
Brainwashing could be explained through two opposite claims: First, by social traditions that have
been victims of authoritarian regimes, and second, by political opponents responding to certain
fiascos that contradict their religious and political beliefs by claiming that their citizens are victims
of brainwashing or thought reform. Reasons to why brainwashing is an inaccurate phrase is because,
prisoners of war tend to claim to have been brainwashed in order not to be held responsible for
revealing confidential information, no scientific experiments have found evidence to measure how
brainwashing is done and many people couldn't be brainwashed against their will. Many scientists,
consequently, claim that brainwashing ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The origin of brainwashing was claimed by U.S.A to explain why most American soldiers arrived
back from the Korean War accepting the communist phenomenon (1950–1953). Due to the long
cold war between communists and democratic, U.S.A find a pretext to engage in an international
war against the soviet union and communist nations, "Brainwashing, with the even more sinister
brain changing in Reverse, is the terrifying new Communist strategy to conquer the free world by
destroying its mind.", ( Edward Hunter, 1971). According to Walter Bowart (1978), CIA was a
strong influential means used by the America government to win the support of millions of citizens.
The brainwashing concept was first introduced by the CIA propaganda specialist. Physiologists
therefore, interpret brainwashing an instrumental weapon used by political opponents to forcefully
control their own citizens and other states support. There hadn't been scientific experiments' that
measured how people could be manipulated and be measured by coercive persuasion. But, despite
the previous argument, there are many reason to think that, First a famous scientific experiments
known as MK–ULTRA brainwashing experiment, was done by CIA officials to control the minds of
the American citizens, "MKULTRA experimented with radiation, electroshock, psychology,
psychiatry, sociology, anthropology, harassment substances", ( Bowart,

Norman Mailer Essay
Made famous by the late comedian Flip Wilson, the Devil made me do it, was a quirky phrase used
to pass the blame to the one entity that no one would expect anything but a mischievous act. This
annoying saying became overused to the point of nausea in the seventies and became synonymous
with acts of slapping girls' bottoms or pinching in places better left unmentioned. When handed the
list of book titles and authors to choose from, I immediately went for Norman Mailer. I had heard of
him and some of his antics in the past and quickly decided he was the one. The author of over forty
books and eleven published novels, Mailer is almost as well–known for his public activities and
persona. His novel The Castle in the Forest which the sources ... Show more content on

Instead this was more an account of apocalyptic fantasy of how the evil mind came to be. My
interest then took a dive. According to the reviews, and I would agree, this book falls in fiction
novel genre. Don't get too excited though if you are a lover of great fiction unless you have a soft
spot for kinky sex, perverted old men and pubic hair inspirations. The author of one review even
goes as far to say that "maybe fiction isn't his real calling after all" (Gates 66). Although Mailer was
the winner of a National Book Award with Armies of the Night, this book seems more the flight of
the imagination of someone who wants to add to the mystery of the evil that was Adolf Hitler. Billed
as a Hitler family saga, The Castle in the Forest is really no more than a soft porn version of a vision
of how one of the world's most maniacal men might have been spawned. The book is narrated by a
character that's called D.T. and claims to be part of Himmler's intelligence agency. The agency is
looking into whether or not Hitler is a product of incest. This inquiry comes from the thought that
"any superman who embodies the vision is bound to come forth from a mating of exceptionally
similar genetic ingredients" (Gates 66). It turns out that D.T. is actually a devil who has taken over
the body of an SS officer. As the story continues we learn that D.T. and Satan himself are present

Critical Book Review
Angela Davis is best known for being a political activist for social issues as well as being a member
of the Black Panther Party and Communist party. Davis is well educated and received wide attention
when she was fired from UCLA for being a member in the communist party. She also received wide
attention when a takeover in a courtroom which killed several people by a gun was registered under
her name. She was put on trial and acquitted for murder but found not guilty. In the past few years,
she has been focusing on fighting against the prison system. She is the founder of Critical

For example, she gives the history of prisons in California "There are now thirty–three prisons,
thirty–eight canos, sixteen community correctional facilities..." ( Davis 13) She further explains how
there has been an huge increase in prisons and prisoners and presents her argument on the reasons
why prisons have increased such as the Prison Industrial Complex in which she explains in chapter
five. This chapter helps gives you a preview of what Davis will be talking about throughout the
book. In chapter two, slavery, civil rights, and abolitionist perspectives toward prison,, Davis
provides a connection of slavery and prison institutions. She provides an insight in a way that I have
never thought about prisons before. Davis reflects back on history and explains how slavery has not
ended yet but has change. She explains how even though slavery is abolition. before slavery was
normal just how prisons are normal to us. Overtime, we may change our views about prisons and
come to the conclusion to abolish prisons. In chapter three, imprisonment and reform, Davis
explains the means of imprisonment and what reform has to do with it. Davis argues that prisons are
obsolete because they are undemocratic because they take away human rights such as the 13th
amendment. She argues that a democracy would not need prisons and many social problems would
be fix. Prisons are a way of social control in which exploits

Research Paper On Angela Merkel
This research paper is on Angela Merkel, a leader that has made a significant impact on a lot of
people. Merkel is the chancellor of Germany, and she plays an important role as a leader for
Germany and the European Union. In June 2016, Forbes Magazine ranked Angela Merkel as the
most powerful woman in the world (McNamara). Earlier this year, Merkel was ranked on a second
place on the World's 50 Greatest Leaders on Fortune Magazine after Jeff Bezoz, the CEO of
Amazon (Colvin). The annual lists of great leaders and powerful men and women in our world show
how important they are as they transform the world and encourage others to do the same. Angela
Merkel is playing a huge role in making the world a better place, as a leader and as a woman she has
had great success for the past decade. According to Business News Daily there are "33 Ways to
Define Leadership", and the most common and simplest way to define leadership is "the power or
ability to lead other people" (Helmrich). There are definitions of leadership as many as the ... Show

news a lot in Sweden because of her power in the European Union as well. As I mentioned in the

leaders are. She has been doing a lot during her years as the Chancellor of Germany, and has
contributed to develop Germany financially and has been the leading figure to the powerful nation it
is today. As the most powerful woman in the world, she must have the ability to inspire and motivate
people to follow her and that can be difficult for woman, as they don't have the same power as men.

Reforming the NSA to Restore U.S. Credibility
Introduction On June 6, 2013, The Guardian published a story about the National Security Agency's
(NSA) secret Internet surveillance program, PRISM (Greenwald and MacAskill 2013). The story
was based on documents leaked by one of the most successful whistle–blowers in American history,
former NSA contractor Edward Snowden. The documents that Snowden has released up to this time
have shown the NSA to be heavily engaged in the collection of personal Internet activity, bulk
collection of telephone "metadata," and other forms of surveillance that have brought U.S.
intelligence practices into question. Claiming its actions are related to the War on Terror, the NSA
has insisted that these programs are legal, have not been abused, and are vital to preventing terror
attacks. The leaked programs have not only created domestic furor, but also put U.S. diplomatic
relations with its allies in jeopardy. With the overthrow of the Ukrainian government creating
tension between the U.S. and Russia, Snowden's asylum in Russia is a political and diplomatic blow
to U.S. prestige and moral authority. And with the threat of further Snowden leaks looming, future
U.S. intelligence operations may hinge on the willingness of Washington to alter its policies.
Benefits of the Programs The potential benefits of the NSA's surveillance programs have been
described by the Obama administration as vital to the War on Terror. The two programs that have
received the most attention are the collection

Oedipus The King, By Sophocles
Shakespeare said about leaders, "Some are born great, some achieve greatness, and others have
greatness thrust upon them." In the story of Oedipus the King, written by Sophocles, Oedipus fits
Shakespeare's description of leaders in many ways. He was born in royalty then discarded by his
family. Oedipus rose in life to achieve greatness and because of a series of events had greatness
thrust upon him. The same series of events eventually became his downfall, but Oedipus was a good
leader. He had traits similar to leaders of today. Oedipus was a dedicated moral leader and did his
best while looking for truth like Merkel, in addition similar to Trump and Schwarzkopf, he was
confident and acted swiftly to reach his goals. Oedipus is moral, dedicated, and works to save the
city while trying to find the truth about the death of King Laius. Oedipus was told of the prophecy
that he would kill his father and marry his mother. In the story, Oedipus decides to leave his home
and parents to avoid taking a chance that the prophecy will come true. Oedipus makes the decision
based on what he knows, like many good leaders, to be proactive to a potential problem. He believes
by leaving his home and parents, he will avoid all chances of a causing something with tragic
consequences that morally he cannot live with. Oedipus is dedicated to making the city better. He

Bones Essay
In the past decade, network television has been bombarded by crime shows attempting to make their
mark on viewers. All of these programs–CSI, Lie to Me, Numb3rs, Law & Order–have the same
general set up of a male lead with a hot–head who is complemented by his team of FBI agents. As a
loyal viewer and fan of Bones, I often wonder what makes it stay afloat with so many shows out
there like it. Could it be that Bones isn't like any of the other crime shows? Through its crimes and
unsolved murders, Bones helps its viewers make sense of the disastrous world around them. The

chemistry between them is undeniable, and as we have seen in the most recent season, Booth has
accepted his feelings for Brennan and, in the early episodes of season five, has been trying to tell her
how he feels. In the real world, many crimes remain unsolved, but in Bones every murder is solved
and the killer is brought to justice. As Letizia, the author of a TV review entitled "Bones", asserts,
"fans root not just for crimes to be solved, but for [Booth and Brennan], working in tandem, to solve

end–even if it simply means their families learn what really happened to them.

Examples Of Feminism In Jane Eyre
Feminism in Jane Eyre's struggling For Self–Realization
When Jane was young she lost her parents, and thanks to her uncle Jane could live a fine life, but
unfortunately her uncle died after a few years. Mrs. Sarah Reed, her aunt, regarded Jane as a curse
and her three children neglected and abused Jane. They despised Jane's simple looks and quiet yet
passionate character. The only relatives of Jane Eyre never showed any sympathy or care to this
distressing little girl, instead they consistently criticized and bullied her. Unsympathetic and
disparaging, Mrs. Reed always treated Jane Eyre as an impediment inferior to a maid. Finally one
day, little Jane had a quarrel with her cousin and was beaten. Jane became ill as she was locked in a
room for an entire night and at that time, her early feminism was generated.
Jane refuses to be treated as an inferior on the face of Mrs. Reed, and eventually speaks out against
the prejudices to her with sharp and forbidding exposure. According to the tradition that the
Victorian women were restricted to follow, Jane's behavior was the total opposite for the role of
women. In fact, many people of that period suggested that Jane should be greatly thankful to her
aunt instead of being rude. When Jane ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Country Overview According to the US Central Intelligence Agency (US CIA), Germany is
Europe's largest economy and second most populated nation. It's located in Central Europe and
borders the Baltic and North Sea. Germany sits between Netherlands and Poland and is just south of
Denmark. The country itself is the seventh–largest European country (Europe). Because of this, the
topography varies throughout the country. The North European Plain stretches across the northern
part of the country. This part is flat and has lowland terrain with many bogs, rivers, and streams. The

Thirty–seven of the world's 500 largest companies (based on stock) are headquartered in Germany.
Many of those companies are car companies like Volkswagen and BMW. Other large names include
Adidas and Puma. These companies are popular clothing and shoe brands found in the US. The
retail store Aldi along with the computer software program, SAP, can also be found in Germany.
Many of these businesses are headquartered near the largest cities in the country. Berlin is the largest
city with over 3,275,000 people (Elledge). The second largest city is Hamburg with 1,686,100 with
Munich following close behind with 1,185,400 people (Elledge). (Unless otherwise noted, all data in

Angela Merkel, who has been in office since November 22, 2005. Today, the traditional industries
like textiles and steel are declining (Germany– Future Trends). The new growth focuses on finance

Global capital markets are being pressured by the travails of Deutsche Bank, one of Europe's largest

concerns about liquidity arose for a
firm considered systemically important. The fear is that the German bank could fail and spark a

Informative Essay On Refugees
In Germany, the Catholic Church has a portion of the population consisting of 25.2 million. The
Protestant Church, has 24.5 million members. The two churches make up more than three–fifths of
the population. The Muslims number is approximately 4 million, with 226,000 Shia, 400,000 Alevis,
and 2.6 million Sunnis. Germany has about 2,600 Islamic places of worship, including 150
traditional mosques (Germany, N.d.). Muslim populations continue to rise, especially with the
conflict occurring in Syria which is displacing thousands of families. More than 6 billion euros are
being set aside to house for 800,000 new refugee applicants this year. Germany is planning to take
in 500,000 more for several years to come. This amount represents 1% of Germany's population
(Shubert, 2015). Not everyone in Germany is open to the idea of refugees coming into the nation
and it is sparking up conflict between the citizens and the newcomers. When the chancellor of
Germany, Angela Merkel, informed the nation that they would be taking in this amount of refugees,
Germans who strongly opposed this decision burnt down a refugee shelter that ended up
hospitalizing many of the individuals taking refuge inside (Shubert, 2015). Taking in refugees into

forefront, Merkel pushed for greater private–sector investors to absorb some of the rescue burden.
She saw to it that European Union bureaucrats went to Athens where they quietly insisted on simple
but important things like shortened vacations for the civil servants, higher taxes on swimming pools
and lower expenditures on public housing (Applebaum, 2013). In consideration of these reforms,
Angela Merkel stated at political rally in Germany "It's not just about getting any further into debt in
countries such as Greece, Spain and Portugal, people should not be allowed to receive pension

Germany : The First Vital Step Is Housing
Germany has been providing support such as housing, food, and health and other necessary
resources to improve the wellbeing of these Syrian immigrants. However, according to the German
Chancellor Angela Merkel in The Washington Times "I'm happy that Germany has become a
country that many people abroad associate with hope" (The Washington Times, 2015). "For
Frankfurt–based human rights organization Pro Asyl, the first vital step is housing. Company CEO
Guenter Burkhardt said the country's policy of forcing refugees to remain in mass accommodation

big idea was that Germany was trying to tackle the obstacle that these Syrian refugees are facing
presently. However, the German government would have to spend so much to accommodate these
aliens. Another way to look at what the Germany government was trying to do was follow the
golden rule principles which stated that treating others as you would want or liked to be treated.

The NSA: The Pros And Cons Of The NSA

protect privacy rights, was a complete joke. The Fourth amendment states that there should be no

not achieving their first goal. Their second goal, protecting vital networks, is also ambiguous. Since
the NSA uses the zero day exploits, and since the companies they get the exploits from sell them,
The NSA is letting the hacks be used. Another problem with this statement is that it says "vital

Because of this, the NSA has been shrouded in secrecy, which people disapprove of. "Despite its

We have to manage it instead. But that's something we can only do together with our neighbors, our
partners, the big ones and the small ones. I think Germany is destined, partly as a result of its
geographic position, to be a mediator and balancing factor."
From this statement I feel as though Merkel is very direct and to the point– there is no point in
arguing, let's do something about it. At the same time Merkel puts emphasis on leader–member
relations. Previous chancellor Schroeder was known for his extravagant sleigh rides with

Angela Merkel Research Paper
Merkel was born in Hamburg, Germany to a Lutheran pastor father and a Latin and English teacher
mother. After her birth, her family moved to communist East Germany, then known as the German
Democratic Republic. In the same year Merkel's family moved east, 20,000 other Germans fled
west. It was her time under a communist regime where, "she gathered the qualities cultivated as a
necessity in the East–patience, blandness, intellectual rigor and an inconspicuous but ferocious
drive–and changed not only her life but the course of history" (Vick).
Merkel became involved in politics as a youth, joining Germany's Young Pioneers and Free German
Youth in the 1960s. The group was technically voluntary but, for children in the east, it was
practically necessary if you wanted to be accepted into any university. In 1973, Angela began
studding physics at Karl Marx University (now known as University of Leipzig). In 1986, she ...

Angela was working under and was considered the protégé of Helmut Kohl, the first Chancellor of
reunified Germany. By this time, Angela had risen to party–secretary general under Kohl's
leadership. He often referred to her as "my girl." The mentor mentee relationship between the two,
however, meant nothing when Angela saw her shot to take his position as party leader. When Kohl
was implicated in a financial scandal, the majority of his party stood idly by. Not Merkel, she
shocked the political world when she not only spoke out against her mentor but also called for his
resignation as party leader. Angela replaced him in 2000 (Huggler).
In 2005, Merkel won her seat by a narrow 3 seat margin defeating Chancellor Gerhard Schröder.
However, under the German election procedures this did not award her with the win. It was not until
two weeks later when the CDU agreed to a coalition deal with the Social Democrats (SPD) was

Similarities Between Justin Trudeau And Angela Merkel

  • 1. Similarities Between Justin Trudeau And Angela Merkel Justin Trudeau and Angela Merkel are confusing politicians because while both are considered radical, they often ignore political parties norms and do what is best for their country, continent and the world. Justin Trudeau assumed office as Canadian Prime Minister in 2015 with goals of raising taxes on the wealthy, improving international relationships, and boosting federal spending to pull Canada out of an economic recession. While in Germany, Angela Merkel has reigned as German Chancellor for over a decade, and while she has modified her political promises, her goals remain rooted in right wing German Conservatism. As a member of the Christian Democratic Union party of Germany and de facto leader of the European Union, Merkel has fought to establish Christianity as a core value for the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It is clear that Trudeau is focused on globalization and in a recent meeting with US President Donald Trump stated that only minor changes should be made to the North American Free Trade Act (Jackson and Slack). In addition to NAFTA, Trudeau has been a key member in the Trans Pacific Partnership, which allows for easier trade across borders. Both international agreements support the idea of free trade across borders and overall globalization. Trudeau also promised to spend $100,000,000 on resettling 25,000 Syrian refugees in 2015 (Plucinska), and since has only built on his goal, allowing over 40,000 refugees into Canada. Trudeau's international policies of borderless societies and his will to fulfill the needs of the world's most desperate parallel Karl Marx's Communist ideologies. Justin Trudeau actions, both nationally and internationally, show his commitment to the Proletariat class, and his beliefs in globalism, tax breaks for the middle class, and secularism prove that he favors Communist ... • 3. Ivanka Trump Persuasive Speech (Insert Creative Title ;) ) Many people may believe the First Daughter, Ivanka Trump, is just the rich daughter of the president. However, she is much more than what society wants to think of her. Over the last 2 years, Ivanka Trump has risen to become a strong advocate for Women's Rights and education. Ivanka Trump is the most influential activist of female empowerment of the gender gap, proper education, and STEM careers. What makes Ivanka Trump stand apart is her willingness to make ideas happen. Our society needs more activists like her. Today, women all over the world are separated by a gender gap that affects making the same wages as men. According to a study done by the American Association of University Women, "Women working full time in the United States typically were paid just 80 percent of what men were paid, a gap of 20 percent" (Miller, Kevin). Ivanka Trump has proven her strong support for shattering the pay gap. The pay gap has been closing since 1970. It has been estimated to take another "170 years to close the gap which is unacceptable" (Shelbourne, Mallory) according to Ivanka Trump and World Bank President Jim Yong Kim. ""Single women without children earn 94 cents for each dollar earned by a man, whereas married mothers earned only 77 cents. Gender is no longer a factor in creating the greatest wage discrepancy in this country. Motherhood is. We are working to change labor laws were put into place when women were not a significant portion of the workforce. (Ivanka Trump)" (Shelbourne, Mallory)" Ivanka Trump is a big influencer to powerful people in the world. She has spoken with world leaders like Prime Minister of Canada, Justin Trudeau, and Chancellor of Germany Angela Merkel about the gender pay gap. Talking to world leaders at a Women 20 Summit in Germany, Ivanka praised Chancellor Merkel for passing a transparent paid leave legislation in Germany. She said, "The United States will look to Germany for legislation that will benefit families on paid leave." (Abramson, Alana) Ivanka also talked about the uniqueness of women in the workplace. Proper legislation will help support working women all over the world support their families. In order to help shrink the gender gap, we must give ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 7. The Lack Of A Central Holocaust Memorial ecrying the lack of a central Holocaust memorial in Germany, a group of German citizens begins a decade–long campaign for a highly visible, national "Memorial to Europe 's Murdered Jews." The idea for the memorial is first proposed by journalist Lea Rosh and historian Eberhard Jaeckel who together had made a documentary about the deportation and mass murder of Europe 's Jews between 1933 and 1945. November 1992 Key decisions The German government decides that the memorial should be devoted only to Jewish victims of the Holocaust and designates a prominent location in the center of the newly–unified city of Berlin: The five–acre site will lie due south of the Brandenburg Gate, which until 1989 had divided East and West Berlin. The site is also just a few steps from the buried remains of the bunker where Adolf Hitler committed suicide. Amidst the Berlin 's tremendous construction boom (which garnered it the nickname "Europe 's Hong Kong"), the monument is but one of many construction projects that anticipate the relocation of the German federal government from Bonn to Berlin by the year 2001 –– the same year that the monument is scheduled to be unveiled. November 1993 Another memorial is dedicated Germany dedicates one of its central monuments, the "Neue Wache," or New Guard House, to "the victims of war and tyranny." Inside is a classical statue of a woman cradling her grown, slain son, an enlargement of one of German Chancellor Helmut Kohl 's favorite works. Critics ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

He was nervous, he moved his tongue around his mouth, noticing a lack of saliva. He was deeply humbled. A chaperon tapped him on his back and guided him toward the sturdy gold–emblazoned oak door. Quite a strong contrast to the smog–filled festering grey carcass of Aleppo, Syria. There she stood, standing firmly but welcoming. What three qualities/adjectives do you associate with females? Intelligent, more clearly expressive, greater self control 3. What 2 women (living or dead) do you see as positive role models for women? Why? Angela Merkel is a good role model for women because she is an example of an intelligent woman who has used her skills to take an effective position of power upon the world stage. Mother Theresa is a good example of a woman who was strong in faith, and who was take–charge, but still humble and selfless. 4. What 2 men (living or dead) do you see as positive role models for men? I most enjoy the freedom of style that men experience, which requires much less time and burden than typical female clothing and beauty. I also enjoy possessing (some) of the greater athletic aptitude that men have. 10. What changes have you seen/do you think you will see regarding the role of men/women in society during your lifetime? I think that in my lifetime, for better or for worse, men and women will become much less defined from each other, and less expected to fit gender roles. I see how this can benefit, but I worry that the consequences will be much worse. History shows that an ill–defined society tends to fall apart, and I worry that once we cross a certain threshold as a society, that we too will fall apart. 11. What advice would you give (other gender) to help in the relationships? For men, I would suggest to try and be more genuinely empathetic of how women are feeling and thinking. It is important to actually try to understand what your female counterpart is saying, and take that with genuine attention, concern, and thought. Robert,

  • 14. Main Themes Of The Prince By Machiavelli 1. Machiavelli wrote The Prince because he wanted to give Lorenzo The Magnificent, a book that highlights major keys to being a Prince and being one efficiently. Also, The Prince was written because to gain endeavor by the prince it is customary to give him something a person holds most valuable, Machiavelli held his knowledge most valuable. 2. The way 'Governments are Established and Held', is a theme in The Prince. Machiavelli says, 'The dominions thus acquired have either been previously accustomed to the rule of another prince, or else have been free states, and they are annexed either by force of arms of the prince himself, or of other, or else fall to him by good fortune or special ability.', he then further explains this topic in the next nine chapters. Another one of the major themes is "War'. Machiavelli explains how to use the methods of offense and defense in a war if a princes' foundation is stable for four chapters. Finally, 'Reputation' is a theme of The Prince. Throughout the last twelve chapters Machiavelli explains how you should act to keep in favor of your citizens. 3. The role of armies is to maintain its country's' defense through fortifications. This ensures security and stops enemies from attacking a prince's' country. 4. Machiavelli's advice is more realistic. He writes the 'real truth of the matter than to its imagination', compared to other writers that have, 'have imagined republics and principalities which have never been seen or known to exist in reality'. 5. Machiavelli says it is better for a prince to be both feared and loved, because men will love at free will and fear at the will of their prince, but a prince must rely solely on his power that he already has. It is possible for a prince to be both. A prince could show love by giving constant support for many of the citizens of his country, but should also be feared because he should give consequences to citizens who do not follow the rules of the country. 6. Conspiracy, a prince should not worry about conspiracies when people are well, but when people are hostile, he should fear conspiracies. Merit, a prince should show merit, and honor those who excel. • 16. Australian Dual Citizenship Essay Australian dual nationals can travel to the US: Malcolm Turnbull The article 'Australian dual nationals can travel to the US' published on the 31st of January 2017 by The Sydney Morning Herald, written by Tom Mrlloy and David Wroe, reflects how Australian citizens with dual citizenship will not be affected by the US's contradicting immigration prohibition. At the Parliament House, Canberra, Mr Turnbull stated that people with dual citizenship are approved to visit the US, despite their beliefs or culture. The main issue raised in this article was that Australian citizens which hold a dual citizenship are not allowed to travel to the US. Mr Turnbull confirmed dual citizenship holders are safe to visit the US with no harm or worry. However, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I never knew citizens from countries, such as, Pakistan, Lebanon, Jordan, Turkey or Iran, loss permission to travel to the US, conversely, owning an Australian citizenship. I found this very unfair. I know those countries may have terrorist and dangerous people, but minority is like them, they are still people, like us. In the future, I believe, I would like to support everyone from refugee countries. I would like to take action helping the innocent people, who had nothing to do with the bombing and terrorist attacks. Those five countries withdrawal of dual citizenship could become an on–going issue, affecting my community, as well as, I believe, nationally and internationally. Family connection could be lost or interrupted, causing distress, anger, grief and etc., initiating conflict on the planet. My suggestion to resolve this problem, would be considering or further discussing possible prevention measures being overlooked to avoid the situation from escalating. I believe, everyone in Australia should be treated fairly and have equal rights. I also support people with dual citizenship and background from Pakistan, Lebanon, Jordan, Turkey or Iran should be treated the same as all Australian citizens, despite their race or background. • 18. Woman in Political Representation Women in political representation In 2012, Only 12 women reached parliament that's 2% of the whole parliament women do not represent only 2% of society (Daily news). Women are never placed in political representation in the Egyptian politics which is a sign of no democracy in Egypt. Democracy is a system of government by the whole population or all the eligible members of a state, typically through elected representatives. Although, the Egyptian constitution claims that Egypt is a democratic and developed society, women are not equal to men when it comes to political representations. Women have the right for equal representation in the governing bodies of Egypt. It's also commonly believed that when it comes to multitasking women can do it better. Researchers proved that when women and men work on a number of simple tasks such as searching for a key or doing easy math problems at the same time, women significantly outperformed the men. Many theories prove that women have always been capable of scoring higher in IQ tests, which are the measurements of intelligence. However, because of discriminatory gender roles, women never realized their own potential. According to IQ expert James Flynn, women have closed the IQ gap and are in fact scoring higher than men. gender–based differences in education and social roles have historically set the bar lower for women. Consequences Of Esperanza Rising Many people who have read Esperanza Rising by Pam Munoz Ryan believe that Esperanza and her mother should have stayed in Mexico, but in my opinion, I believe that they were right to leave for California. If they stayed, they would have had to face several consequences, one being having to live with Esperanza's uncle, despicable Tio Luis. At the same time, when they went to California, they did not have to leave everything behind, it was a choice they made. After all, as Esperanza herself said in the book, "Do not ever be afraid to start over." (p. 253) Esperanza and her mother made the choice to leave Mexico and go to California to work and escape Tio Luis, which I believe to be a good decision. Before going, Esperanza was spoiled, rich, and quite full of herself, living in a high social class family, and in general thought of herself better than others. At first, she was against leaving everything she knew and loved, but in the end, found herself liking California. Esperanza made new friends, in particular, Isabel, who taught her many things, even though she was younger. She taught her how to appreciate what she had, and how to get a job done. • 22. Pursuit Of Power In Macbeth Seeking power is exhilarating but it can be someone's undoing. The hunt for power can oftentimes lead to different external and internal consequences, which can also depend on the person or environment. Shakespeare's Macbeth focuses on a character who eventually becomes obsessed with the pursuit of power, and trying to control the power that he already has. His power affects him and everyone around him. This act of trying to collect as much power as possible will ruin him, ultimately being his downfall. The real life example of Vladimir Putin showcases that he and people around him have also suffered the the consequences evident in Macbeth. Many times, the pursuit of power will lead to psychological impacts such as feeling fear and guilt which can show on the outside as delusion and insanity. Macbeth has hallucinations based around guilt and to others he seems delusional and insane. After he hires the three murderers to kill Banquo and Fleance, they come back unsuccessful, only managing to kill Banquo. He is haunted by a hallucination of an apparition of (supposedly) Banquo and says "(to GHOST) Thou canst not say I did it. Never shake. Thy gory locks at me./ Gentlemen, rise. His highness is not well" (Shakespeare 3.4.61–63). Without being prompted by the ghost, Macbeth responds and another noble is weary of his actions. But, feminism is by its nature a complex notion and one can't fully appreciate its effectiveness forgetting the aspect of ethnic discriminations in the country (Collin, p.p 47). Race matters exist in diverse places and at unusual times under extensively unreliable circumstances. It is different from white feminism as they have managed to attain their own freedom in a different way. This was because Black women were hardly seen as an active figure in such movements over the history. Currently, the issues of black feminism are hardly discussed at any forum. Thus, rather following the celebrities liked by everyone, the black women have to work out their own recognition in terms of fashion, behaviour, looks, education, shopping, and acting and even in the corporate strategies of the business. The reason because black women are made different is that they are born for different approaches in life. Currently, the image of black women in the media is badly intoxicated by the news of domestic violence, strong physique, bad attitudes and misery of being beaten by men (Brinkley et al, p.p 113). High level policy makers are not only concerned with intelligence; they are constantly concerned with reelection. A policy maker who is identifying requirements could decide to focus resources on an issue that is less vital to the nation's security in order to obtain information that will get them reelected. High level threats could be pushed to the side in order to address an issue that is not necessarily as vital but is a hot topic in news media, and public opinion. This would be followed down by the intelligence community and the more dangerous area or individual threat could be left unmonitored. 2. Often briefings and communication between high level officials and analysts are hectic times and communication of requirements could not be communicated clearly. A policy maker giving feedback on collection objectives or asking questions could be perceived by the intelligence official as requesting more information when really that policy maker has enough information to make a decision. This is an issue when two people come from different backgrounds and use different phrasing, objectives could be easily misunderstood. Time and resources would then be wasted to gather intelligence on issues that are no longer relevant. 3. Reasons to why brainwashing is an inaccurate phrase is because, prisoners of war tend to claim to have been brainwashed in order not to be held responsible for revealing confidential information, no scientific experiments have found evidence to measure how brainwashing is done and many people couldn't be brainwashed against their will. Reforming the NSA to Restore U.S. Credibility Introduction On June 6, 2013, The Guardian published a story about the National Security Agency's (NSA) secret Internet surveillance program, PRISM (Greenwald and MacAskill 2013). The story was based on documents leaked by one of the most successful whistle–blowers in American history, former NSA contractor Edward Snowden. The documents that Snowden has released up to this time have shown the NSA to be heavily engaged in the collection of personal Internet activity, bulk collection of telephone "metadata," and other forms of surveillance that have brought U.S. intelligence practices into question. Claiming its actions are related to the War on Terror, the NSA has insisted that these programs are legal, have not been abused, and are vital to preventing terror attacks. The leaked programs have not only created domestic furor, but also put U.S. diplomatic relations with its allies in jeopardy. With the overthrow of the Ukrainian government creating tension between the U.S. and Russia, Snowden's asylum in Russia is a political and diplomatic blow to U.S. prestige and moral authority. This in is stark contrast to German Chancellor Angela Merkel's almost celebratory welcoming of the refugees into Germany back in September. Despite this initial enthusiasm towards the refugees, Merkel has received an increasing amount of criticism at their continuous flow into the country. In hope of preventing any conflicts, ensuring tighter border control, and making accessible any aid that the refugees might need, French Economy Minister Emmanuel Macron and Sigmar Gabriel, Germany's Economy Minister, have both proposed that a fund be established in the amount of ten billion euro. The Problems Of Deutsche Bank The Problems Deutsche Bank is facing: Global capital markets are being pressured by the travails of Deutsche Bank, one of Europe's largest investment banks, and there is yet no clarity on when the coast will clear. The bank's stock has plunged to all–time lows as concerns about liquidity arose for a firm considered systemically important. The fear is that the German bank could fail and spark a domino effect that would harm the global banking system. This worry is heightened as German Chancellor Angela Merkel's administration has rejected any bail–out plan. The two churches make up more than three–fifths of the population. The Muslims number is approximately 4 million, with 226,000 Shia, 400,000 Alevis, and 2.6 million Sunnis. Germany has about 2,600 Islamic places of worship, including 150 traditional mosques (Germany, N.d.). Muslim populations continue to rise, especially with the conflict occurring in Syria which is displacing thousands of families. More than 6 billion euros are being set aside to house for 800,000 new refugee applicants this year. Germany is planning to take in 500,000 more for several years to come. This amount represents 1% of Germany's population (Shubert, 2015). Not everyone in Germany is open to the idea of refugees coming into the nation and it is sparking up conflict between the citizens and the newcomers. When the chancellor of Germany, Angela Merkel, informed the nation that they would be taking in this amount of refugees, Germans who strongly opposed this decision burnt down a refugee shelter that ended up hospitalizing many of the individuals taking refuge inside (Shubert, 2015). Taking in refugees into the country is forcing the people of strong national identity to come forth and combat the intake of lesser political identities in the refugees. She saw to it that European Union bureaucrats went to Athens where they quietly insisted on simple but important things like shortened vacations for the civil servants, higher taxes on swimming pools and lower expenditures on public housing (Applebaum, 2013). In consideration of these reforms, Angela Merkel stated at political rally in Germany "It's not just about getting any further into debt in countries such as Greece, Spain and Portugal, people should not be allowed to receive pension before their German counterparts. We all have to put in some effort. This is important, we cannot have the same currency, yet some have an abundance of holiday leave and others have very little."The German Chancellor continues "We cannot stand by these countries and allow them to act the way they have up until now. • 71. Germany : The First Vital Step Is Housing Germany has been providing support such as housing, food, and health and other necessary resources to improve the wellbeing of these Syrian immigrants. However, according to the German Chancellor Angela Merkel in The Washington Times "I'm happy that Germany has become a country that many people abroad associate with hope" (The Washington Times, 2015). "For Frankfurt–based human rights organization Pro Asyl, the first vital step is housing. Company CEO Guenter Burkhardt said the country's policy of forcing refugees to remain in mass accommodation sites for protracted periods only serves to provoke extremists" (The Washington Times, 2015). The big idea was that Germany was trying to tackle the obstacle that these Syrian refugees are facing presently. However, the German government would have to spend so much to accommodate these aliens. Another way to look at what the Germany government was trying to do was follow the golden rule principles which stated that treating others as you would want or liked to be treated. Thus, this is the greatest rule ever, but there are perspective to look at this issue. The big question was that, are these Syrian refugees who we think they are? The Fourth amendment states that there should be no unreasonable searches or seizures. Collecting people's metadata that isn't public violates this right, not achieving their first goal. Their second goal, protecting vital networks, is also ambiguous. Since the NSA uses the zero day exploits, and since the companies they get the exploits from sell them, The NSA is letting the hacks be used. After her birth, her family moved to communist East Germany, then known as the German Democratic Republic. In the same year Merkel's family moved east, 20,000 other Germans fled west. It was her time under a communist regime where, "she gathered the qualities cultivated as a necessity in the East–patience, blandness, intellectual rigor and an inconspicuous but ferocious drive–and changed not only her life but the course of history" (Vick). Merkel became involved in politics as a youth, joining Germany's Young Pioneers and Free German Youth in the 1960s.
