2. Idea
• To have a teachers resource that all teachers can
access.
• The resource would be for teachers who want to
integrate technology in the classroom.
• A shared resource where teachers can access
different lessons that use technology.
3. How it works
• Go to http://teachingresources.strikingly.com/
• Pick a category
Download a lesson and use it for class.
What lessons does the site currently have?
5. Current Events
• Current Events - This section pulls from news
organizations to connect students with events
around the world that affect their lives.
• Presentations about these events are linked to
the site and provide guidance on teaching
students the critical thinking skills they need to
understand the world around them.
6. Art
• The projects in this section currently focus on
the use of digital design tools to express
statistics called “infographics” or data
visualization. Data analysis is the process of
interpreting the meaning of the data we have
collected, organized, and displayed in the form
of a table, bar chart, line graph, or other
representation. The process involves looking for
patterns—similarities, disparities, trends, and
other relationships—and thinking about what
these patterns might mean.
7. Art (continued)
• When analyzing data, ask students questions
such as: What pattern do you see? What does
this graph tell you? Who could use this data?
How could they use it? Why is this data shown in
a line graph? The ability to make inferences and
predictions based on data is a critical skill
students need to develop.
8. Coding
• "provide students with greater opportunities to construct
their own games--and to construct new relationships
with knowledge in the process” (Kafai, 2006)
• Our Coding section focuses on teaching students how to
code computer programs. There are lessons, printed
resources, and links to the most current websites for
students to create apps and other digital programs.
Integrating gaming and programming by using a website
like Scratch will
9. Ending
• Our site is a collaborative effort that is meant to
provide cross-curricular access to technology-
infused lessons, projects, and resources. Our
hope is that we can continue to add to it as a
means of connecting educators to resources that
can help them bring technology into the
classroom.
