3. Ideas for the Future
“Special SoCal Kids”: Community Initiative
The Southern California Special Olympics serves more than 13,000 athletes in Southern California and the Galaxy’s support
of the Special Olympics would not only expand their involvement in youth sports initiatives, but would also touch the lives
of group of individuals and families who face a different set of obstacles. The Galaxy could be as involved as they like,
ranging from volunteering or having player appearances on the day of the games, to organizing soccer practices with the
Special Olympic athletes.
“Cosmo’s Tournament of Champions”: Community Program
The most expensive part of youth sports for underprivileged families is the cost of participating in teams or tournaments,
many teams with low funding cannot afford to attend big state or national tournaments. This soccer tournament would
allow qualifying teams from around the state to participate for free in a state-level tournament with nice facilities,
giveaways and awards, providing a rich experience that these children would otherwise not get to enjoy. In the future, we
could turn this into a prestigious national tournament.
“Hands for Habitat”: Community Initiative
What better gift can you give a family than putting a safe roof over their heads? The Galaxy would partner with Habitat-for
Humanity and help build housing for underprivileged families in the Southern California area. The level of involvement
could range from player, fan and staff volunteering for Habitat events or coordinating and funding the Galaxy’s own events
or home builds.
“A Car for Caring”: Fundraising
Through a partnership with Kelley Blue Book (Auto Trader) or a local Car Dealership, fans would purchase raffle tickets to
win a car provided by the sponsor. The sponsor would enjoy the benefits of having their name on the website, mentioned at
games and advertising for them on the raffle car that would sit outside the Home Depot Center through the regular season.
Revenue from the tickets would support the Los Angeles Galaxy Foundation.
“Good Eats for a Good Cause”: Fundraising
Similar to the Galaxy’s Goodsearch partnership, one restaurant weekly would donate a percentage of their revenue to the
Los Angeles Galaxy Foundation for a specified day. The promotion could go on for an entire game, with mention of a
keyword or during a specified time (ex: post-game), depending on the sponsor’s wishes.

The prospect of working for the Los Angeles Galaxy’s Community

to continue to develop their programs, like the Drive Series, Kicks for Kids,
Reading Garden Challenge and Holiday Event.
It is hard to imagine another position that fits my personal and
professional goals, skills and values as well as this position does. I am confident
