2. SOFT ( Space Odyssey for Teenagers) eTwinning project draft.
Description
SOFT (Space Odyssey for Teenagers) is a soft landing on the world of construction and
space. The project is a wink at future engineers, 12 -15 years old now, where Technology,
Physics, Mathematics, Sciences, Physical Education, ICT, Languages have their own
place. The goal is to motivate students to investigate, write hypothesis, experiment,
construct, take out conclusions in a ESA-like environment. In addition students will get
knowledge about their partners’ contribution to the space study as well as their own.

Objectives
1. Acquiring a scientific methodology to get knowledge.
2. Designing and building short projects to develop in a practical way curriculum
contents related with Technology, Maths, Sciences..
3. Integrating the short projects in a whole unit related with space to improve
competences
4. Highlighting work done in the history of transport to facilitate communication among
people.
5. Being aware of the importance of space developments in every day life.
6. Using ICT tools to do research, to create and publish to share knowledge among the
partners.
7. Getting aware of the importance of good nutrition and keeping fit.
8. Facilitating communication through a common language using English in different
situations.
Methodology
1. Setting up the teams in the partner school and introducing the whole project..
Establishing the roles in the partnership. Getting familiar with the tools on the
eTwinning platform.
2. Web page/wiki and blog creation. The blog will serve as a communication tool and
compare our experiences.
3. Presentation of participants. Students will use the portal tools to make short
presentations in a variety of ICT tools. We will organise a videoconference or chat
session.
4. Neil Armstrong Homage. We will launch bottle rockets in the courtyards getting
videos and photos for an exhibition.
5. Collection of material. We will use ICT tools to present and illustrate the different
projects and the contents related with them.
6. Transnational teams formation to simulate communication between the ESA and the
control premises.
7. Creating tutorial videos to be published in the blog.
8. Final evaluation and intermediate assessments.

Results
3. In qualitative terms, we expect students to develop a scientific method to solve problems in
their learning process and their every day life. Improved use of ICT skills and English
communication for both students and teachers. Improved social skills and teamwork for all
the participants. A more conscious awareness of our body and health. A better ability to
perceive learning as a complex of activities in various fields and embed the experience
and the knowledge in their own life.
In quantity terms, Better results in the involved subjects. A blog. Video tutorials and
exhibitions at school.
