most common mistakes made on the IELTS test.
That mistake is not following directions. Each
section of the IELTS test has directions that the
test taker is to follow.
• Many test takers do not follow these directions.
This costs you points. This is totally unavoidable.
Do not make this mistake. I am going to share with
you examples of these mistakes and how you can
prepare yourself so that you do not make these
same mistakes.

Common IELTS Mistake
• Failing to address every point in a writing
assignment. If the instructions say to
address 3 points and they list the
points, you MUST address those 3 points.
• Failing to write the required amount of
words for an assignment
• Speaking about a different subject than
what was instructed
4. How To Avoid Making This Mistake
• Read and re-read the directions. Keeping
your time in mind, make sure that you
understand the directions.
• If you do not understand something, read it
again
• When completing a long writing section, while
you are writing, glance back at the directions
to make sure that you are following them
correctly and addressing all of the points as
instructed.
