2. What can I bring with me to the exam?
• Pencils, sharpener, and a rubber. You may not use pen, only
pencil.
• You can bring a highlighter to mark the answer booklet.
• No Tippex!
• You can bring tissues and a clear (not coloured) water bottle, but
don’t drink too much because you will not be able to go to the
toilet during the test.
• No electronics, Smart watches, etc.
• Nothing written on papers or on your body
3. How do I mark my answer sheet?
• Fill in the bubbles carefully with your pencil. Do not circle the
answers.
• If you make a mistake, erase it completely and
mark the new answer.
• If you mark more than one answer, you will get
no points for question.
4. What about the Writing part?
• There is a space on your marksheet to write your answers.
• You may not use Tippex.
If you make a mistake you can erase it.
• You can also cross it out neatly.
5. Can I write in the test booklet?
• Yes, you can, but….
• You must transfer all answers to your marksheet. Answers in the
test booklet do not count.
• Be very careful when you transfer your answers to make sure you
don’t make a mistake.
• After the Listening test, you will have a bit of extra time to
transfer your answers.
• For the Reading and Writing tests, you must transfer any answers
during the regular test time.
6. Can I ask questions during the test?
• You can ask a question if you don’t understand what you have to
do, but try to listen carefully when instructions are given.
• You may not ask for any help with vocabulary, spelling, meaning,
etc.
• If you have a problem during the test (ex. your pencil breaks),
raise your hand. Do NOT ask another student for a pencil, rubber,
etc.
• You may not leave your seat during the test.
7. What else do I need to know?
• From the moment you enter the exam room, you must be in
silence.
• You may not look at anyone else’s paper or try to communicate
with another student during the test.
• If you finish early, you must wait quietly until the exam has
finished. Do not distract other students.
• If an examiner thinks someone is trying to cheat on the exam, the
person may not receive a mark.
8. Tips for the Reading parts
• Read the questions before you read the text. This will help you
know what information you need to look for.
• Always read carefully and go slowly. You can underline important
information to help you.
• Don’t worry if you don’t know a word. Just keep going.
• Always read the complete question and all of the posible answers
before choosing one, because your first idea may be wrong.
• If you are not sure how to answer a question, first eliminate the
answers you know are wrong. Then guess. Never leave a question
blank.
9. Writing Part Tips
• Before answering: check the verb tense, singular or plural, etc.
• Don’t forget capital letters for months, days of the week, proper
nouns, etc.
• Always read the complete question and all of the posible answers
before choosing one.
• When you have chosen your answer, read the question and answer
again to make sure it makes sense.
• For the longer questions (note, email, letter, etc) try to plan what
you are going to write before you begin.
