1. Evaluation Question 6: What have you
learnt about technologies from process of
constructing this product?
2. Pages
‘Pages’ was one program I used on Mac. I found this was an excellent program
for the purpose of constructing my magazine. I learnt a lot in the process of
making my magazine which I can now use in the future to the best of my ability.
I have learnt a variety of techniques throughout my time using pages. One thing I did learn
which I found extremely helpful was the different ways to put effects on texts and images. This
included changing the opacity, putting shadows behind and changing the angle of the pictures
and texts to create certain effects. I also learnt how to create a layered page using the ‘Bring
Forward’ and ‘Send Backward’ buttons. I also learnt how to put borders around the page and
around pictures and text. I could do this using the shapes or the optional selection when I
‘double click’ on the pictures/text.
These techniques I learnt have given me a better understanding of pages and how to navigate
myself around the program. It was an extremely simple way to make my media product.
3. Photoshop CS3
Photoshop CS3 is a professional editing program for PC and Mac. I used this to
edit my images I took for my magazine in order to make them to fit in with my
magazine.
I learnt a lot through using Photoshop to edit my pictures I took for my magazine. I learnt
different techniques to a variety of editing. One being a tool to clear any skin imperfections.
This made my artists look more presentable and more attractive for the audience. Also, I
learnt how to do cut out backgrounds to make the magazine look more professional. I also
learnt how to manipulate images to give them effects such
as making them black and white and brightening areas of
the image to put emphasis on certain parts. One example
might be making the eyes a different colour.
I found Photoshop very helpful and it has taught me a lot.

4. Dafont
Dafont is an online website which allows you to download fonts for free. You
simply press on a font you like and click download. It then goes into your font
files and you can freely use it on any program.
This piece of IT allowed me to make a title/logo for my magazine. From it I learnt how to
download fonts and use them in programs like Pages and Photoshop. Also, through doing this I
learnt how to apply online websites to desktop programs which is good because I now know
hoe to do this when it comes to further work.
Dafont is an excellent website to make your magazine or media product look professional
because it turns a section of a page into an exciting space to look at.
5. Online Presentation Websites
I have learnt a lot through the process of making my
magazine and posting my content on Blogger with various
uses of IT. The online programs I used included slideshow
viewers and different ways of presenting my work with ‘mood boards’ and ‘mind maps’.
The websites helped me understand that you don’t need desktop programs and real bought
products to produce fine work. I used websites like Prezi and Popplet as ways to present my
work. I learnt how to create a sort of slideshow/timeline with Prezi and how to mind map with
Popplet. Also, I used Scribd to present my work on Blogger where I have been posting my
coursework. The main thing I have learnt is how to take the embed code from the websites in
order to post my work. All these things helped me with my work and have taught me lots of
technological techniques.
