Walt Disney Studios, and today one of the largest and best-known
studios in Hollywood.
• Disney also owns and operates the ABC broadcast television

CSR Activities
• Protecting Ecosystems
Since 2009, Disney has invested $48
million in carbon offset projects
globally, most of which involve
forest conservation, reforestation
and forest management.
• Minimizing Waste
Recycling at parks is an important
part of their approach to Disney's
long-term goal of zero waste.
•Encouraging Innovation:
Disney reduces environmental impact
through innovations, such as the trains at
Disneyland Resort which run on biodiesel
made with cooking oil from the resort’s
restaurants and hotels.
• Helping Animals in Need
A veterinarian at Disney’s Animal Kingdom performs a routine checkup
on a sea turtle. Guests can watch animals get health checks, talk with
veterinarians and learn about wildlife tracking from scientists
studying sounds and behaviors of wild animals.
• Catalyzing Action
Disney Friends for Change inspires kids and their families to make a
lasting, positive impact on the world by showing how even small
actions can make a big difference.
• Providing Hope and Laughter
Through uplifting efforts, like granting children with life-threatening
illnesses the opportunity to fulfill their wishes, they provide
happiness, hope and laughter to those who need it most.
• In addition, Disney executives
serve on various non-profit
boards of directors around the
world. These executives lend
their personal expertise to
increase the capacity of
nonprofits in governance,
strategy, and fundraising.
• Employees and cast members
also play an important role in
advancing Disney's
environmental commitment.
Globally, more than 150
employees serve as Green
Team leaders, helping to raise
awareness about our
environmental goals and
standards.
Over the last thirty years, Disney employees
across 42 countries have given more than 8
million hours of their time through their
VoluntEARS program, from filling hospital
rooms with comfort and laughter to serving
meals to the hungry, building homes for
families, cleaning up our beaches, and so
much more.
• Volunteerism is a major focus for Disney, offering free tickets to a
million people in exchange for a day of volunteer service from an
organization of their choice. This encouraged over one million
people in the United States to commit to service efforts to
volunteer in their communities.
• Environment :
 Through motion pictures and television programming ,Disney
encourages environmental education.
 Disneynature films, part of Walt Disney Motion Picture Studios,
share compelling stories and immerse audiences in the natural
world.
 Part of the proceeds from three Disney nature films to date – Earth,
Oceans, and African Cats – have planted three million trees in
Brazil’s threatened Atlantic Forest, protected 40,000 acres of coral
reef in the Bahamas, and conserved 50,000 acres of savanna
wildlife corridors in Africa.
The Disney’s Animals, Science and Environment
team connects Walt Disney Parks and Resorts
guests and cast members with animals, plants and
nature and inspires them to positively impact the
environment.
The Animal Programs team participates in
cooperative breeding programs with other
zoological facilities at the other theme parks, and
offers tours and education programs. Through
these activities, they create magical memories for
their guests, while also making a difference for
conservation around the world.

established on Earth Day in 1995, supports efforts
of local and global non-profits who protect wildlife,
ecosystems, and make a positive impact on the
