6. Introduction
I have chosen the topic for my project of Book
Keeping & Accountancy subject.
Procedure of opening saving account in the
nationalised bank. There are four categories of bank viz.
1) Central Bank i.e. Reserve Bank of India 2)
Nationalized Banks 3) Co-operative Banks 4) Foreign
Banks.
Generally we do not open our account in R.B.I. and
Foreign Banks. We need to open our A/c either in the
Nationalised Bank or Co-operative Banks. For particular
class of employees Foreign Bank provide services
therefore the related people can also open their A/c in
Such banks.
I focused on the procedure of opening an A/c in the
Nationalized Bank. I decided to open my Saving Bank A/c
in STATE BANK OF INDIA. Since core banking has been
accepted by all the banks I can operate my account from
any branch of STATE BANK OF INDIA throughout the
country.
I planned to visit STATE BANK OF INDIA
Branch – Kharepatan.
