• The term ‘Bank’ is derived from Italian word ‘Banco’ or
from a French word ‘Banque’ both means “Bench” or
money exchange table.

in the form of deposit and lends it to those who require

Banking Transaction
•Any sort of activity involving in money or exchange of
money in an account is viewed as Bank Transaction.

Reserve Bank of India (Mother of Banks, Bankers Bank,
Central Bank of India)

Ans: Yes. Borrowing and lending of money
possible only when we have account in the banks, it
is one of the safest custody of our money.

Conclusion
Banks play very important roles in the economic development of nations as they, to
a large extent, wield control over the supply of money in circulation and are the main
stimuli of economic progress. Economic development is a dynamic and continuous process
which is highly dependent upon the mobilization of resources, investment, and the
operational efficiency of the various segments of the economy. The performance of bank
institution and other financial institution need to be evaluated because it defined as the
reflection of the way in which the resources of a bank are used in a form which enables it to
achieve its objectives. As the banking sector is considered a vital segment of a modern
economy, its efficiency is vital importance. A customer may have more than one account.
Once an account is opened, funds entrusted by the customer to the financial institution on
deposit are recorded in banks.
