Work-Study Grant
Application Form
AWARDS: The Webster-Leiden Work-Study Grant may be awarded to undergraduate and
graduate students currently registered at Webster Leiden. This competitive grant is based
upon financial need and is renewable at the end of the Academic Year if the awardee
maintains continuous full-time enrollment at Webster Leiden and meets or exceeds the
required cumulative grade point average of 3.3. Students need to re-apply for renewal. The
grant normally covers 15% of tuition costs and may vary per student; if the student is willing
to do service hours for the Webster campus the awarded amount may be higher. It applies to
study at Webster University's Leiden and Amsterdam campus and online courses only; in
some cases the scholarship may transfer to other Webster campuses (check with advisor for
details). US applicants should note that the amount of scholarship awarded may affect US
Financial Aid.
APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS: Full admittance to Webster University, good standing,
and fulltime enrollment status. In order to apply for a Webster Grant, please submit:
1. This Grant application form, completed and signed;
2. a 1-page essay giving your rationale for the application (see guidelines on page 2);
3. An electronically submitted biography (please use the template on page 2), with a
digital passport photo.
All materials should be submitted to your Webster academic advisor.

2. THE STUDY-GRANT ESSAY
(Not to exceed one type-written page. Please submit electronically in Word format.)
The essay should answer the following questions:
• Why are you motivated to continue your studies at Webster? Answers might include
such items as: life and career goals, skills necessary to achieve these goals, etc. Why
do you deserve this scholarship or grant over others?
• Why you need a Study Grant? Answers should include an estimation of total
remaining annual cost of study at Webster University (do not forget personal costs),
as well as specifications of total annual resources available to you and your family
from all sources (personal savings, family support, government support, part-time
work, loans, other).* You have to prove that you will be able to support yourself for
the part not covered by the scholarship. Be sure to include support from business or
corporations if relevant. Answers should be itemized.
