GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS RETURN ONE (only) COMPLETED FINANCIAL STATEMENT TO THE GUIDANCE SECRETARY.  NO APPLICATION WILL BE CONSIDERED WITHOUT THIS FINANCIAL FORM. Copy of Student Aid Report (from FAFSA) with Family Estimated Family Contribution (EFC) noted needs to be attached.  When student’s financial aid package is received from college that needs to be submitted also.   This form does not go into every scholarship.  Just one to be turned in to Guidance. Please read “ELIGIBILITY” section of each scholarship carefully to make sure you qualify. Explanation of terms: “IN WRITING” means that you are to write a letter stating the reasons you feel you should be considered for this scholarship–need, goals, academic standing, etc.  4. Pay strict attention to directions regarding letters of reference.  Be sure to include  ALL  requested material, including application forms.  If these are not included, your application will not be considered.  Letters must be typed or completed on a computer.   Only include what the committee asks for, do not attach anything else. 5. At the  top  of  each letter being written,  please indicate the name of the scholarship for which you are applying.  Your name should be in the  upper right hand corner   of each application.  (See example in front of book)  Letters must be typed or completed on a computer.  Don’t use pencil for any part of your application package. 6. Those applications that are to be  addressed to the Principal  should be  given to the Guidance   Secretary .  Please do not put these applications in envelopes , but be sure to staple multiple pages together.  No paper clips.
Instructions (continued) Regarding applications that must be  MAILED  to the scholarship committees– IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY  to prepare the completed application and all inclusions to the appropriate committee.  Your transcript will be given to you to copy .  Counselor recommendations and teacher recommendations will be kept in the Guidance Office.  If one of your scholarships requires a recommendation, submit the  completed  package to the Guidance Secretary with a note attached requesting the recommendations to be enclosed.  If it is to be mailed, have the envelope completely addressed with the appropriate stamps affixed. As a general rule,  two  stamps will be needed if the complete application will be 3-5 pages; add  three  stamps if 6 pages or more.  Check deadlines.  Allow enough time for mailing deadline. Put a post-it note on the package detailing what you want included. Check due dates carefully–applications will not be considered after the date specified.  Most applications are due by April 3rd. AWARD: $500.00 ELIGIBILITY: Graduating Senior who is going on to any post-secondary  institution majoring in music. Financial need will be  considered. Letter should state why you  are interested in music and what effect it has had on your life.  Include an insight into what you plan to do with a musical  career, your goals and objectives and where you expect to be  in music within the next six to eight years. 2009 Annie S. Crowell Scholarship For a graduating senior with preference given to relatives of Hyannis Normal School or Hyannis State Teacher’s College Alumni.  Student transcripts must accompany all scholarship applications. AWARD:  $1,000.00 Please refer to Community Foundation Scholarship Booklet, available in Guidance, for application.
2009  Brewster Career Firefighters Scholarship COMMITTEE: Brewster Career Firefighters Scholarship Committee and a member of the  Nauset Regional High School staff AWARD: Up to $1,000.00 ELIGIBILITY: A member of the graduating class of Nauset Regional High School who is  a resident of the Town of Brewster.  The applicant should plan to  continue their education in the public service fields. APPLICATION: Please include a letter stating the reason you are requesting the  scholarship, your intended school program of study, and career goals.  Letters should be submitted by April 3, 2009.  Student transcripts must  accompany all scholarship applications.
