1.1 Introduction
Community service is work
done by a person or group of people that
benefits others. It is often done near the
area where you live, so your own
community reaps the benefits of your
work. It helps any group of people in
need such as children, senior citizens,
and people with disabilities and many
more. There are hundreds of ways to
participate in community service including working with schoolchildren, senior citizens,
helping out in improving the environment, helping low-income people, visiting
orphanages and so on.
As part of our assignment, we were decided to visit and teach the children from
orphanage at Rumah Kebajikan Karunai Illam located at Kepong. For this assignment, we
were to educate and teach them about life and making them happy and through the fun
activities we conducted on that day.
First of all, to understand the kids in the foster home, it is essential to know the
needs and what had they been though in their lives. Most of the children are placed
in foster care typically because they have been removed from their homes by the state
due to lack of proper care, the parents or guardians are unable to care for their children
for various reasons. Hence, it was not easy for the children to growing up without the
love and care of a family.
Therefore, throughout this assignment enable us to connect and understand them
more to let them know that they are not alone as there is always people out there who still
cares for them. To let them feel loved and wanted is our main goals. Not only that,
throughout this visit, it makes me feels more appreciated on what we have and learn to
spread love and happiness to the people around us.

1.7 Reflection
To conclude, I would like to express my utmost gratitude to Ms Tay Shir Men for giving
us the chance to participate in such meaningful charity work. It enables us to be united as
a team in working out something memorable and bringing out happiness to the orphans
Apart from that, as a member in finance team, it gives me the obligation to control and
manage the money allocation on each of the expenditure spent all along this assignment.
Besides, as a facilitator also gives me the opportunity to get to know the children
more as well as understand them through the activities conducted on the event day. It
make me realized that they are actually friendly and really grateful that they enjoyed.
Able to put a smile on their face was our greatest achievement on that day. It makes us
feels even happier to see them actually laughed and even cherish each other throughout
the activities. Hope to see them understand the meaning of teamwork and learn to share
and helping friends in any situation as that was one of our objectives of the day.
Moreover, I would like to thank all my groupmates and not to forget our
commander and deputy commander with the helps and cooperating to make this event
successful. Without them, this event wouldn’t be as successful. Not only to let the kids
understand the importance of teamwork. Along the way in planning all these activities
also let us understand the importance of team work and also learning to manage our time
properly in order to making sure all the events are under control. Last but not least, we
only live one (YOLO), let’s make our lives as shine as we can!

It is often done near the area where you live, so your own community reaps the benefits of your work. It helps any group of people in need such as children, senior citizens, and people with disabilities and many more. There are hundreds of ways to participate in community service including working with schoolchildren, senior citizens, helping out in improving the environment, helping low-income people, visiting orphanages and so on. As part of our assignment, we were decided to visit and teach the children from orphanage at Rumah Kebajikan Karunai Illam located at Kepong. For this assignment, we were to educate and teach them about life and making them happy and through the fun activities we conducted on that day. First of all, to understand the kids in the foster home, it is essential to know the needs and what had they been though in their lives. Most of the children are placed in foster care typically because they have been removed from their homes by the state due to lack of proper care, the parents or guardians are unable to care for their children for various reasons. Hence, it was not easy for the children to growing up without the love and care of a family. Therefore, throughout this assignment enable us to connect and understand them more to let them know that they are not alone as there is always people out there who still cares for them. To let them feel loved and wanted is our main goals. Not only that, throughout this visit, it makes me feels more appreciated on what we have and learn to spread love and happiness to the people around us.

It enables us to be united as a team in working out something memorable and bringing out happiness to the orphans Apart from that, as a member in finance team, it gives me the obligation to control and manage the money allocation on each of the expenditure spent all along this assignment. Besides, as a facilitator also gives me the opportunity to get to know the children more as well as understand them through the activities conducted on the event day. It make me realized that they are actually friendly and really grateful that they enjoyed. Able to put a smile on their face was our greatest achievement on that day. It makes us feels even happier to see them actually laughed and even cherish each other throughout the activities. Hope to see them understand the meaning of teamwork and learn to share and helping friends in any situation as that was one of our objectives of the day. Moreover, I would like to thank all my groupmates and not to forget our commander and deputy commander with the helps and cooperating to make this event successful. Without them, this event wouldn’t be as successful. Not only to let the kids understand the importance of teamwork. Along the way in planning all these activities also let us understand the importance of team work and also learning to manage our time properly in order to making sure all the events are under control.
