2. BACKGROUND
• On June 8, 2015, Council approved an
ordinance allowing the continued use of
Freese and Nichols, Inc. to provide
Project Management and Engineering
Services for (2) two years with an option
to extend the contract

BACKGROUND
• Freese and Nichols has provided
services for the City since 2007, thus
providing a history of projects which
benefits both parties for reference
• Engineering Service fees have been
reasonable relative to other cities with
similar projects

BACKGROUND
• Fees can run as much as twelve
percent (12%), compared to current
cost for Alamo Heights Street
Maintenance Program (SMP) estimated
at five percent (5%)

FISCAL IMPACT
• Cost depends on project design detail
and time necessary to perform services
using set hourly cost
• Request council consideration to
extend the contract for two years with
an option for an additional two years
