SUMMARY
An Ordinance amending the Adopted General Fund Operating Budget Fiscal Year 2022-23 to
Transfer Out funds to the Comprehensive Fund, Capital Replacement Fund and Street
Maintenance Fund for a total of $1,794,000.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION
The city estimates that it will have a positive amount in the General Fund of approximately
$1,794,449. The ordinance will amend the budget to transfer out from the General Fund
operating account 10-542-8600 a total of up to $1,794,000. The total transfer out is composed of
the following amounts: Comprehensive Fund $1,394,000, Street Maintenance Fund $200,000
and Street Maintenance Fund of $200,000.
POLICY ANALYSIS
The estimated funds for the transfer are available in the General Fund and it is financially sound
to commit funds for community projects.
FISCAL IMPACT
A transfer from the General Fund account 10-542-8600 to the following funds for a total up to
$1,794,000: Street Maintenance Fund $200,000, Capital Replacement Fund $200,000 and up to
$1,394,000 in the Comprehensive Fund.

ORDINANCE NO. 2214
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE ADOPTED GENERAL FUND
OPERATING BUDGET FISCAL YEAR 2022-23 FOR TRANSFERS OUT
FOR A TOTAL OF $1,794,000
WHEREAS, the City of Alamo Heights adopted the General Fund Operating Budget for
Fiscal Year 2022-2023 by Ordinance No. 2192; and
WHEREAS, the City of Alamo Heights is projecting a positive year end fund balance of
$1,794,449 in the General Fund; and wishes to commit those funds before the end of Fiscal Year
2022-2023; and
WHEREAS, City Staff recommends using some of the positive fund balance for transfers
to the Capital Projects Fund, Street Maintenance Fund and Comprehensive Fund for beautification
projects for a total amount of up to $1,794,000; and
WHEREAS, this budget amendment will provide funding for the Capital Replacement
Fund, Street Maintenance Fund and Comprehensive Fund for Beautification projects; and
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ALAMO HEIGHTS, TEXAS that the adopted operating budget for Fiscal Year 2022-2023
is amended to include transfers out from account 10-542-8600 to the Capital Projects Fund for
$200,000, Street Maintenance Fund $200,000 and Comprehensive Fund for Beautification
Projects of up to $1,394,000. The current budget adopted by Ordinance No. 2192 is amended to
reflect this budget amendment.
