SUMMARY AND RECOMMENDATIONS
An Ordinance amending the Adopted General Fund Operating Budget Fiscal Year 2021-22 for
$80,000 to plan and develop community activities and events to celebrate Alamo Heights’ 100-
Year anniversary activities and events.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Alamo Heights became a municipality in June 1922 and will celebrate it’s 100-year anniversary
next year. CE Group was selected this past June to plan and coordinate community events and
activities to celebrate the city’s centennial anniversary. The budget for FY 2021-22 is $20,000
to develop plans and strategizing scheduling of events with city leaders, the community and staff.
The amendment for $80,000 is to pay for the planning, coordinating and marketing associated
with the 100-year anniversary activities and events. Centennial celebration activities are also
scheduled in FY 2022-23 and that will be budgeted during the budget process with council.
POLICY ANALYSIS
This amendment will allow city staff to continue coordinating and developing community
activities and events for the historic 100-year anniversary.
FISCAL IMPACT
The adopted General Fund budget has a positive fund balance of $230,935 and the amendment
for $80,000 will be added to the Administration budget within the General Fund. The amendment
is for $80,000 to pay for costs associated with the city’s 100-year anniversary.

AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE ADOPTED GENERAL FUND
OPERATING BUDGET FISCAL YEAR 2021-22 FOR $80,000 TO PLAN
AND DEVELOP COMMUNITY ACITIVITES AND EVENTS TO
CELEBRATE THE CITY’S 100-YEAR ANNIVERSARY
WHEREAS, the City of Alamo Heights will be celebrating it’s 100-year anniversary in
2022; and
WHEREAS, the City of Alamo Heights is projecting a positive year end fund balance in
the General Fund; and
WHEREAS, funds are available in the adopted budget for a budget amendment to the
General Fund Operating Budget 2021-22 for a total amount of $80,000; and
WHEREAS, this budget amendment will provide the funding for planning, developing
and coordinating activities and events to celebrate the city’s 100-year anniversary; and
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ALAMO HEIGHTS, TEXAS that the adopted General Fund operating budget for Fiscal
Year 2021-22 has a positive fund balance of $230,935 and is amended by $80,000 to be within the
Administration budget of the General Fund to plan and develop community activities to celebrate
Alamo Heights’s 100-year anniversary. The current budget adopted by Ordinance No. 2176 is
amended to reflect this budget amendment.
