3. Innova/ve financing models for EBA
driven agriculture
• Enhancing EBA financing through
exis3ng banks, village community
banks, coopera3ve movements and
corporate social responsibility
departments in private sector
ins3tu3ons, diaspora remiDances etc.
• Incen3vizing private sector financing
for EBA through tax waivers/rebates
for financial ins3tu3ons lending to EBA
ini3a3ves.

5. Defining and giving space to enhance
the role of the private sector in
upscaling EBA
• Establishing and strengthening
incen3ves that seek to enhance the
overall business environment in a
country, such as good transport,
energy and telecommunica3on
infrastructure, effec3ve legal &
regulatory environment and favorable
market economy policies.

• There is need for more affordable
financing to the private sector.
Countries need to implement fiscal
policies to loosen liquidity, lower
interest rates and enhance accessibility
to affordable financing.
• There is need to facilitate and promote
more transparent Public Private
Partnership (PPPs) models that reduce
risks to both the private investor and
the public.

• 7. South-south coopera/on in
harnessing EBA
• Developing strategies to leverage and
sustainably u3lize ecosystems for
development at trans-boundary
regional level e.g. cos3ng ecosystems /
economics of ecosystems and their
role in a regional setup.
• Fostering greater regional coopera3on
on EBA

• Launching research ini3a3ves for
analysis of EBA economies to generate
empirical evidence on costs and
benefits of ecosystems; and
understand the ecological roles
holis3cally and link this to the policy
agenda and package informa3on for
different audiences
