1. Using New Technologies In My School
Today,in many countries,policy makers and educational authorities are trying to
integrate technology into their educational systems.They expect teachers to integrate
instructional technology into their daily teaching activities.Teachers play a key role in the
adaption of technology.
Information age citizens must learn not only how to
access information,but more importantly how to
manage,analyze,critique and transform it into usable
knowledge.To make it happen,the classes are equipped
with smart boards in my school, the pupils and teachers
connect to internet.
In Turkey 2,5 million more tablet was delievered to
students as part of FATİH project.(It means ‘’Movement to Increase Opportunities and
Technology’’).As part of the project first launched in 2012,students using tablets are able to
interact with what their teachers write on smart blackboards in clasroom.The Project aims to
make learning fun and lessons more
comprehensive,thanks to online accessibility. The
government aims to deliver 10 million tablets to students
and teachers by 2020. In my school,teachers have tablets
but students haven’t.In the school,teachers use
Education Information Network(EBA)effectively.The
Ministry of Education worked on an education portal
both for students and teachers that offers more than
150.000 pieces of digital educational content,ranging
from e-books and audio books to games,dictionaries and
magazines.
Teachers aim to integrate state-of-the-art computer technology in Turkey’s public
education system.E-content in EBA is producet by expert teams in the field.EBA is also
enriched with digital content provided by leading education firms in the fields in Turkey and
in the World.Before the class the teachers send some videos to power up backgrounds about
a subject and they talk and discuss the subject in class easily then they have some exercises
and tests to evaluate what they have learned on the EBA.But some old teachers are
unwilling to learn and use the systembeacuse they are incapable of using new techologies.
The smartboards and EBA systemare effectively used by Science,Literaturate and English
teachers in my school.They think the system supply critical thinking,analysing and it is
suitaible for individual needs.
Also,another technologic devices are used by field teachers. For example,they use CNC
machine to teach automatical serial production in the Machinary Workshop,students have
opportunity to do experiment and to learn experience .
