the objective of this paper is to contribute towards the analysis of the virus by leveraging machine learning
models to understand its behavior and predict future patterns in the United States (US) based on data
obtained from the COVID-19 Tracking Project.
COVID-19- Vaccines: Trends & Future: Systematic Review & Meta Analysis
This systematic review and meta-analysis examined 28 nationally representative surveys from 13 countries on COVID-19 vaccination intentions. The key findings were:
1) Pooled data from March-October found 60% of people anticipated vaccinating and 20% expected to refuse vaccination, with 22% uncertain.
2) Vaccination intentions have declined over time as the pandemic has evolved, while refusal intentions have increased.
3) Demographic factors like being female, younger, lower income/education, and belonging to an ethnic minority were consistently associated with being less likely to intend to vaccinate.

Abstract—The Federal Reserve cut interest rates on March 3, 2020, in re-
sponse to COVID-19. On March 5 and 6, I surveyed over 500 consumers
about their concerns about COVID-19, awareness of the Fed’s announce-
ment, and macroeconomic expectations. Most consumers were concerned
about effects of COVID-19 on the economy, their health, and their per-
sonal finances. About 38% were aware that the Fed had cut interest rates.
Greater concern is associated with higher inflation expectations and more
pessimistic unemployment expectations. I informed respondents about the
Fed’s announcement, which led some consumers to become more optimistic
about unemployment and revise inflation expectations downward.
I. Introduction
ON March 3, 2020, the Federal Reserve lowered the fed-eral funds rate target by 50 basis points to a range of 1%
to 1.25%. This was the first rate cut made outside of a regu-
larly scheduled Federal Open Markets Committee (FOMC)
meeting since 2008. The FOMC statement noted that “the
fundamentals of the U.S. economy remain strong. However,
the coronavirus poses evolving risks to economic activity … .
The Committee is closely monitoring developments and their
implications for the economic outlook and will use its tools
and act as appropriate to support the economy.”
In the press conference associated with the rate cut, chair-
man Jerome Powell added that the policy move would “help
boost household and business confidence.” The spread of
COVID-19 (coronavirus) is not neatly classified as either a
demand or a supply shock (Cochrane, 2020), but it may re-
sult in both “practical and psychological” demand shocks,
if consumers are prevented from getting to stores or post-
pone purchases in the face of huge uncertainty (Baldwin &
di Mauro, 2020).
On March 5 and 6, 2020, I conducted an online survey
using Amazon Mechanical Turk, a Web service that allows
requesters to post small tasks in exchange for a posted mon-
etary payment.1 I surveyed US consumers ages 18 and over
about their attention to and concerns about the coronavirus,
the news they heard about the Fed, and their expectations of
inflation and unemployment. I then provided the respondents
with the March 3 FOMC statement and information about
the rate cut and resolicited their expectations of inflation and
unemployment. I also collected information about respon-
dents’ demographics, numeracy, news sources, attention to
the stock market, and confidence in the Fed and the presi-

Twitter Based Sentimental Analysis of Impact of COVID-19 on Economy using Naï...
COVID-19 outbreak brought unprecedented changes to people’s lives and made significant impact on the US and world economy. It wrought havoc on livelihood, businesses and ultimately the economy. Understanding how the sentiment on economy is changing and main factors that drives the change will help the public to make sense of the impact and generating relief measures. In this paper we present a novel Naïve Bayes model using a word-based training approach to perform the analysis and determine the sentiment of Twitter posts. The novelty of this methodology is that we use labelled set of words to classify the tweets to perform sentimental analysis as opposed to the more expensive methods of manually classifying the tweets. We then perform analysis on the resulting labelled tweets to observe the trend of economy from February 2020 to July 2020 and determine how COVID-19 impacted the economy based on what people posted on Twitter. We found our data was largely inclined towards negative sentiment indicating that the economy had been largely negatively impacted as a result of COVID-19. Further, we correlate the sentiment with the stock market index aka Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) because stock market movement closely mirrors the economic sentiment and is shown as one of the main factors influencing people's attitude change from our sentimental analysis. We found strong correlation between the two, indicating stock market change is one of the driving factors behind people's opinion change about economy during pandemic. This work proposed and tested a generic lower-cost text-based model to analysis generic public’s opinion about an event which can be adopted to analyze other topics.
ANALYZING THE EFFECTS OF DIFFERENT POLICIES AND STRICTNESS LEVELS ON MONTHLY ...
The corona virus is one of the most unprecedented events of recent decades. Countries struggled to identify
appropriate COVID-19 policies to prevent virus spread effectively. Although much research has been
done, little focused on policy effectiveness and their enforcement levels. As corona virus cases and death
numbers fluctuated among countries, questions of which policies are most effective in preventing corona
virus spread and how strict they should be implemented have yet to be answered. Countries are prone to
making policy and implementation errors that could cost lives. This research identified the most effective
policies and their most effective enforcement levels through data analysis of 12 common coronavirus
policies. A monthly case increase rate prediction model was developed to enable decision makers to
evaluate the effectiveness of COVID-19 policies and their enforcement levels so that they can implement
policies efficiently to save lives, time, and money.

In this paper we present a novel Naïve Bayes model using a word-based training approach to perform the analysis and determine the sentiment of Twitter posts. The novelty of this methodology is that we use labelled set of words to classify the tweets to perform sentimental analysis as opposed to the more expensive methods of manually classifying the tweets. We then perform analysis on the resulting labelled tweets to observe the trend of economy from February 2020 to July 2020 and determine how COVID-19 impacted the economy based on what people posted on Twitter. We found our data was largely inclined towards negative sentiment indicating that the economy had been largely negatively impacted as a result of COVID-19. Further, we correlate the sentiment with the stock market index aka Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) because stock market movement closely mirrors the economic sentiment and is shown as one of the main factors influencing people's attitude change from our sentimental analysis. We found strong correlation between the two, indicating stock market change is one of the driving factors behind people's opinion change about economy during pandemic. This work proposed and tested a generic lower-cost text-based model to analysis generic public’s opinion about an event which can be adopted to analyze other topics.

The corona virus is one of the most unprecedented events of recent decades. Countries struggled to identify
appropriate COVID-19 policies to prevent virus spread effectively. Although much research has been
done, little focused on policy effectiveness and their enforcement levels. As corona virus cases and death
numbers fluctuated among countries, questions of which policies are most effective in preventing corona
virus spread and how strict they should be implemented have yet to be answered. Countries are prone to
making policy and implementation errors that could cost lives. This research identified the most effective
policies and their most effective enforcement levels through data analysis of 12 common coronavirus
policies. A monthly case increase rate prediction model was developed to enable decision makers to
evaluate the effectiveness of COVID-19 policies and their enforcement levels so that they can implement
policies efficiently to save lives, time, and money.

Epidemic control may be hampered when the percentage of asymptomatic cases is high. Seeking remedies for this problem, test positivity was explored between the first 60 to 90 epidemic days in six countries that reported their first COVID-19 case between February and March 2020: Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Cuba, Mexico, and Uruguay.
Test positivity (TP) is the percentage of test-positive individuals reported on a given day out of all individuals tested the same day. To generate both country-specific and multi-country information, this study was implemented in two stages. First, the epidemiologic data of the country infected last (Uruguay) were analyzed. If at
least one TP-related analysis yielded a statistically significant relationship, later assessments would investigate the six countries. The Uruguayan data indicated (i) a positive correlation between daily TP and daily new cases (r = 0.75); (ii) a negative correlation between TP and the number of tests conducted per million inhabitants (TPMI, r = 0.66); and (iii) three temporal stages, which differed from one another in both TP and TPMI medians (p < 0.01) and, together, revealed a negative relationship between TPMI and TP. No significant relationship
was found between TP and the number of active or recovered patients. The six countries showed a positive correlation between TP and the number of deaths/million inhabitants (DMI, r = 0.65, p < 0.01). With one exception –a country where isolation was not pursued , all countries showed a negative correlation between

METHODS AND MATERIALS A quantitative research design was used for the present study. A total 100 samples were collected using quota sampling technique. The demographic variable and pretest posttest level of preventive measures of covid 19 among mothers having kids below 2 years was assessed using structured questioner, and the mothers were exposed to tailored programme on preventive measures of covid, followed by that data was gathered and analyzed. Epidemic control may be hampered when the percentage of asymptomatic cases is high. Seeking remedies for this problem, test positivity was explored between the first 60 to 90 epidemic days in six countries that reported their first COVID-19 case between February and March 2020: Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Cuba, Mexico, and Uruguay.
Test positivity (TP) is the percentage of test-positive individuals reported on a given day out of all individuals tested the same day. To generate both country-specific and multi-country information, this study was implemented in two stages. First, the epidemiologic data of the country infected last (Uruguay) were analyzed. If at
least one TP-related analysis yielded a statistically significant relationship, later assessments would investigate the six countries. The Uruguayan data indicated (i) a positive correlation between daily TP and daily new cases (r = 0.75); (ii) a negative correlation between TP and the number of tests conducted per million inhabitants (TPMI, r = 0.66); and (iii) three temporal stages, which differed from one another in both TP and TPMI medians (p < 0.01) and, together, revealed a negative relationship between TPMI and TP. No significant relationship
was found between TP and the number of active or recovered patients. The six countries showed a positive correlation between TP and the number of deaths/million inhabitants (DMI, r = 0.65, p < 0.01). With one exception –a country where isolation was not pursued , all countries showed a negative correlation between
TP and TPMI (r = 0.74). The temporal analysis of country-specific policies revealed four patterns, characterized by: (1) low TPMI and high DMI, (2) high TPMI and low DMI; (3) an intermediate pattern, and (4) high TPMI and

Material/apparatus:
Gloves, Bunsen burner, inoculation loop, incubator, MSA agar, EMB agar, MacConkey agar, blood
agar,
E. coli, E. aerogenes, S. epidermidis, and S. aureus.
Procedure:
1. Label the bottom of petri dish with your name, date and type of media culture.
2. Divide each petri dish into 4 quadrants, by marking the bottom of the dish. Label each
section with the name of bacteria to be inoculated.
3. Using aseptic technique, inoculate all plates except blood agar, with the designated bacteria
by making a single line of inoculation of each bacterium in its appropriate section. Ensure
that the petri dishes are close and the inoculation loop flamed between the inoculations of
different bacteria.
4. Using aseptic technique, inoculate blood agar, with the designated bacteria by making a
single line of inoculation of each bacterium in its appropriate section like in step 3. Upon
completion of each single line of inoculation, use the inoculation loop and make three of four
stabs at a 45 angle across the streak.
5. Incubate the petri dishes in inverted position for 24 to 48 hours at 37C.
6. Observe and record your observation

Cross-border travel between South Africa and its neighbours has increased significantly over the
years due to economic development in the South African Development Community (SADC)

border passenger transport traffic, the South African government regulates the market in order to
ensure that there is orderliness in the industry. The regulation of both passenger and freight road
transport is conducted by agencies on behalf department of transport. This is done through
regulatory frameworks put in place to ensure that cross-border passenger transport complies with
safety and environmental standards. Thus, passenger transport operators must obtain permits in
order to operate in a specific region. However, there are several operators that have not been
complying with this requirement. Instead, they have been using counterfeit permits, making it
difficult to determine market saturation or otherwise.

Background: The novel Coronavirus designated SARS-CoV-2 appeared in December 2019 to initiate a pandemic of respiratory illness known as COVID-19, which had been an unprecedented global public health crisis, and the safe and effective COVID-19 vaccinations are vital for the global strategy to combat the pandemic. However, the population must reach a sufficient vaccination rate, i.e. 6070%, to achieve herd immunity. Vaccine hesitancy, or "delay in acceptance or refusal of vaccination despite availability of vaccination services", could affect vaccination rate and the ability to establish herd immunity. Factors that affect the attitude towards acceptance of vaccination include: complacency (do not perceive a need for a vaccine), convenience (access) and confidence (do not trust vaccine or provider). Therefore, determining the factors associated with COVID-19 vaccine hesitancy are important for public health developing strategies targeting the voluntarily vaccine-hesitant individuals. To evaluate the vaccination compliance rates of individuals living in the U.S., a longitudinal study was used to examine the individual's attitudes toward vaccines over a six-month period. Beginning in March 2020 (early phase of the pandemic), researchers collects attitudes from a cohort of the same participants, N=407, every month. The primary outcome was the COVID-19 Vaccine Hesitancy Score (vhs19), which can range between 0 and 100, with higher scores indicating lower COVID-19 vaccine hesitancy, i.e. more positive attitude toward vaccination.
