The video treatment includes shots of a band performing in a studio intercut with shots telling the narrative of a teenage girl who is dissatisfied with her dull life. In the narrative shots, dull colors and slow motion are used to depict the girl's boredom. Each shot distorts her face until she arrives at a beach. The performance shots will use brighter colors through lighting or image projection to contrast with the dull narrative shots. The story follows the girl as she walks through her day, has an existential crisis in a graveyard, then finds liberation by dancing wildly on a beach at the end.

Moaning Lisa Smile Treatment
1. Treatment Sheet
Moaning Lisa Smile
The video will include a mixture of studio shots of the band performing and
shots which tell a storyline of a teen who is fed up with their dull life.
Slow motion is used in the narrative parts of the video and the colours are
drained to represent the dullness of the characters life. Each shot will distort the
actress’s face, until the point where she reaches the beach.
To contrast the dull colours in the narrative parts of the video, the performance
parts of the video will either use brighter colours, achieved by gel lighting or the
projection of images over the band members, which I think will create
interesting shadows on the set and the band members.
