The WJ IV provides two primary methods for comparing tests or cluster scores. One is based on a predictive model (the variation and comparison procedures) and the other allows comparisons of SEM confidence bands, which takes into account each measures reliability. A third method for comparing scores, one that takes into account the correlation between compared measures (ability cohesion model) is not provided, but is frequently used by assessment professionals. The three types of score comparison methods are described and new information, via a "rule of thumb" summary slide and nomograph, are provided to allow WJ IV users to evaluate scores via all three methods.

This article presents a review of the applications of Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP). AHP is a multiple criteria decision-making tool that has been used in almost all the applications related with decision-making. Decisions involve many intangibles that need to be traded off. The Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) is a theory of measurement through pairwise comparisons and relies on the judgements of experts to derive priority scales. It is these scales that measure intangibles in relative terms. The comparisons are made using a scale of absolute judgements that represents how much more; one element dominates another with respect to a given attribute. The judgements may be inconsistent, and how to measure inconsistency and improve the judgements, when possible to obtain better consistency is a concern of the AHP. The derived priority scales are synthesised by multiplying them by the priority of their parent nodes and adding for all such nodes. An illustration is also included.

ABSTRACT : This paper critically examined a broad view of Structural Equation Model (SEM) with a view of pointing out direction on how researchers can employ this model to future researches, with specific focus on several traditional multivariate procedures like factor analysis, discriminant analysis, path analysis. This study employed a descriptive survey and historical research design. Data was computed viaDescriptive Statistics, Correlation Coefficient, Reliability. The study concluded that Novice researchers must take care of assumptions and concepts of Structure Equation Modeling, while building a model to check the proposed hypothesis. SEM is more or less an evolving technique in the research, which is expanding to new fields. Moreover, it is providing new insights to researchers for conducting longitudinal investigations. .

Running head: HEXACO MODEL 1 HEXACO MODEL 2 HEXACO Model Miriam Obembe PSY 7610 Capella University HEXACO Model Introduction Standardized tests are essential in providing a consistent form of evaluation of the nature of mentality of different individuals. The human psychology is linked to significant issues in the current times. The situation necessitates the utilization of various tests to gauge the state of affairs in the psychological sector. The tests are effective in assessment of different elements associated with the mental state. One of the most important tests is the HEXACO Model of Personality Structure. The test is integral in psychology as it is able to sufficiently assess different aspects of people including personality and attitudes The HEXACO Model of Personality Structure was developed by Ashton and Lee. The model is a based on the concept of division of the personalities of human beings into six dimensions. The model evaluates openness to experience extraversion agreeableness conscientiousness emotionality and honesty-humility. The personality test can be administered to persons of different ages and health situations. The test is especially important for people in their middle age years Articles Review De Vries R. E. (2013). 24-iten brief HEXACO Inventory (BHI). Journal of Research in Personality 44:871-880 The article by de Vries (2013) focuses on the essence of short personality instruments. The short personality scales are mainly based on Big Five model despite the HEXACO model basis on a 6-dimension personality scale. The details on the reliability and validity provide better comprehension of factors associated with measurement scales. The core focus is on reliability of the test. The article also shows the aspects involved in the reliability biasness validity and variance. De Vries (2013) is able to display the different elements involved in measurement of reliability and evidence of validity. He shows how reliability is related to internal rater and temporal consistencies. The two latter consistencies are deemed to provide an unbiased systematic variance. It considers the test-retest reliability or stability and self-other agreements. The article displayed that the alpha reliabilities were low while test-retest validity and self-other agreement. There were significant levels of convergent validity with low levels of discriminant validity. Durand, G. (2017). Using the HEXACO Model of Personality to Test the Validity of the Durand Adaptive Psychopathic Traits Questionnaire. Durand (2017) used the HEXACO model to gauge the effectiveness of the DAPTQ. The main basis was on the influence of the sixth element of HEXACO which is the Honesty-Humility factor. DAPTQ has feasibly measured the relationship with the Big Five elements which are the core features of HEXACO model. It was also used to measure the effect of the sixth element. The focus was on the validity of the instrument. The study ...

This paper presents a methodology that eliminates multicollinearity of the predictors variables in supervised classification by transforming the predictor variables into orthogonal components obtained from the application of Partial Least Squares (PLS) Logistic Regression. The PLS logistic regression was developed by Bastien, Esposito-Vinzi, and Tenenhaus [1]. We apply the techniques of supervised classification on data, based on the original variables and data based on the PLS components. The error rates are calculated and the results compared. The implementation of the methodology of classification is rests upon the development of computer programs written in the R language to make possible the calculation of PLS components and error rates of classification. The impact of this research will be disseminated, based on evidence that the methodology of Partial Least Squares Logistic Regression, is fundamental when working in a supervised classification with data of many predictors variables.

A PROCEDURE FOR IDENTIFYING PRECURSORS TO PROBLEM BEHAVIOR BRANDON HERSCOVITCH, EILEEN M. ROSCOE, MYRNA E. LIBBY, JASON C. BOURRET, AND WILLIAM H. AHEARN NEW ENGLAND CENTER FOR CHILDREN NORTHEASTERN UNIVERSITY We describe a procedure for differentiating among potential precursor responses for use in a functional analysis. Conditional probability analysis of descriptive assessment data identified three potential precursors. Results from the indirect assessment corresponded with those obtained from the descriptive assessment. The top-ranked response identified as a precursor according to the indirect assessment had the strongest relation according to the probability analysis. When contingencies were arranged for the precursor in a functional analysis, the same function was identified as for target behavior, supporting the utility of indirect and descriptive methods to identify precursor behavior empirically. DESCRIPTORS: descriptive assessment, functional analysis, precursors, problem behavior, response-class hierarchies _______________________________________________________________________________ Functional analysis (Iwata, Dorsey, Slifer, Bauman, & Richman, 1982/1994) involves manipulating antecedents and consequences for the target behavior of interest. Because a functional analysis requires the repeated occur- rence of a target response, it may not be appropriate for response topographies that pose risk of harm to others (e.g., severe aggression) or the client (e.g., self-injury). One modification that has addressed this concern involves a functional analysis of precursor behavior (i.e., arranging contingencies for responses that reliably precede the target behavior) based on previous research showing that response topog- raphies that occur in close temporal proximity are often members of the same response class, and by providing differential reinforcement for earlier responses in the response-class hierarchy, later more severe responses occur less often (Harding et al., 2001; Lalli, Mace, Wohn, & Livezey, 1995; Richman, Wacker, Asmus, Casey, & Andelman, 1999). Smith and Churchill (2002) conducted a functional analysis of precursor behavior and found similar outcomes from a functional analysis of the target behavior and a functional analysis of the hypothesized precursor behavior. A study by Najdowski, Wallace, Ellsworth, MacAleese, and Cleveland (2008) extended this work by demonstrating that an intervention based on a functional analysis of precursor behavior was effective in eliminating partici- pants’ precursor behavior. The implication of these findings is that outcomes from functional analyses of precursor responses may be used to infer the function of more severe topographies that occur later in the response-class hierarchy. A potential limitation associated with both of these studies is that indirect assessments alone were used to identify precursor responses. Such assessments have sometimes been found to have poor reliab.
