Stringing chart is a graph that shows the relationship between sag, tension, and temperature for overhead power lines. It is used because sag increases with lower tension, while lower tension results in higher sag. The stringing chart helps compromise between low sag and low tension by accounting for the effect of temperature on this relationship.

1. Define Stringing chart
Stringing chart is basically a graph between Sag, Tension with Temperature. As we want low Tension and
minimum sag in our conductor but that is not possible as sag is inversely proportional to tension.
It is because low sag means a tight wire and high tension whereas a low tension means a loose wire
and increased sag. Therefore, we make compromise between two but if the case of temperature is
considered and we draw graph then that graph is called Stringing chart.
