There are two main types of microphones one is called a dynamic mic which
can take more pressuree.g. explosions, this can also be plugged into your
device. Condenser is moresensitive and can’ttake a lot of pressureand it also
needs a separatepower source. Phantompower is when your device give the
microphonepower to work. XLRcables can transmit power for phantom
power. Handheld microphone is good for music, hard wearing e.g. shotguns
mics and Shure which are Omni directional which means it pick up equally in all
direction or cartroid heat shaped. Lavelier/lapelmiz microphones can be wired
or wireless. Largediaphragm microphones is a dialogue or signing recording.
Windshields are used for outdoors which helps reduce wind noises. Figures of
8 are large diaphragm microphones. Microphones clips screws onto a
microphoneboom/stand. Shot mount isolates microphones fromvibrations.
Pop shields blocks explosive sounds. On board camera mount. Boundary
microphones mounts a mid-directly to a surfacee.g. for surround sound on a
wall, on a floor which is omni-directional.
