Assure Reflection
Zachary Sissel
The Assure assignment at first was very difficult to grasp the full concept. It took me
many trial and errors on working on my own Assure before I realized what it was all
about. After fully understanding what impact it has on children and how interactive it can
be is when I fully began to realize this was a great tool. I would try and incorporate this
on every lesson I would do because it is a great tool and focuses on the child as a
whole. Although, some Physical Education lessons I feel may not be able to fit into scale
with Assure. This could be my lack of using Assure as well. The Assure method allows
the student to engage into the activity making them more likely to get more meaning out
of the lesson, I think this is one of the most vital aspects in teaching. I think the Math &
Science pillar would benefit greatly from using Assure. This would require Math and
Science teachers to get their students involved and hands on which is all part of the new
STEM project. There are a couple things I would also like to be seen taught in this is
how to prepare Assure lessons for different aspects of field of study, say Physical
Education, and Art. It would be beneficial to see as it would give me some examples to
pull from for Physical Education. I would honestly do more just writing Assure’s for
different examples like the 3 given for the assignment in class. I feel I learned a great
deal in actually doing the Assure method then trying to read and interpret it.
