DIGITAL PORTFOLIOS
Portfolio: It is a meaningful collection of student
work that presents the students’ efforts,
progress and achievement to the stakeholders.
The students often play an active role in the
creating, evaluation, and maintenance of their
portfolios.
• Over past decades portfolios have been used
as an alternative method for assessment and
instruction. However they have some barries.
With digital technologies, portfolios have become
digital or electronic and are commonly known as
electronic portfolios. digital portfolio.
A digital portfolio is a collection of authentic and
diverse evidence, drawn from a larger archive
representing what a person or organization has
learned over time, on which the person or
organization has reflected, and designed for
presentation to one or more audiences for a
particular rhetorical purpose
THE USES OF DIGITAL
PORTFOLIOS
• There are three main uses for digital
portfolios: for students while studying, for
graduates while moving into or through the
workforce, and for the institutions for program
assessment or accreditation purposes.
HOW TO DEVELOP DIGITAL
PORTFOLIOS
They can be develop through two ways:
• First way uses generic tools, such as word
processing, HTML editors, portable document
format (PDF), and other commonly used
productivity tool software.
• The second way uses “information technology”
customized systems approaches that involve
servers, programming, and databases.

BENEFITS OF DIGITAL
PORTFOLIOS
They have many benefits
• Since they expand writing to include creative
work in sound, images, and hypertexts, they
present the possibility of a new literacy
• It also a way to showcase technology skills, as
it requires the use of technogology
• Digital portfolios provide a ‘rich picture’ of
student learning and competencies, thus
facilitating authentic learning.
• They also contribute to students’ lifelong
learning, because it enable students to learn to
manage their own development
• They are easy to maintain, edit, and update.
• Many kinds of artifact can be put into digital
portfolios
• They are easy to store

USE OF DIGITAL PORTFOLIOS
• The the concern of whether they are really the
work of students or not
• Financial burden and training
• The technical knowledge

  • 2. Portfolio: It is a meaningful collection of student work that presents the students’ efforts, progress and achievement to the stakeholders. The students often play an active role in the creating, evaluation, and maintenance of their portfolios.
  • 3. • Over past decades portfolios have been used as an alternative method for assessment and instruction. However they have some barries.
  • 4. With digital technologies, portfolios have become digital or electronic and are commonly known as electronic portfolios. digital portfolio. A digital portfolio is a collection of authentic and diverse evidence, drawn from a larger archive representing what a person or organization has learned over time, on which the person or organization has reflected, and designed for presentation to one or more audiences for a particular rhetorical purpose
  • 5. THE USES OF DIGITAL PORTFOLIOS • There are three main uses for digital portfolios: for students while studying, for graduates while moving into or through the workforce, and for the institutions for program assessment or accreditation purposes.

HOW TO DEVELOP DIGITAL PORTFOLIOS They can be develop through two ways: • First way uses generic tools, such as word processing, HTML editors, portable document format (PDF), and other commonly used productivity tool software. • The second way uses “information technology” customized systems approaches that involve servers, programming, and databases.
